It would be awesome to see a digitally controlled all analog circuit version where we could set presets or MIDI… Basically it would be awesome to have a box like this with an all analog circuit path that I can load my pick ups with and adjust how they are going into the rest of my pedal and into my amp Simon Jarret from Kingsley built a pedal similar to this He had a switch for different size capacitors A coupling capacitance control and also he had a tube on it so he could use it as a boost pedal

Andy really shows off these types of “utility” pedals better than anyone else. They can often make the biggest difference in your tone.

Today I learned just how much high-end roll off you get with 50 feet of cable!

This thing sounds awesome

Glad to see this demo! I picked up the ZIO a while ago without much info and it stays at the front of my chain. Surprised more folks aren't extolling its virtues. One of those "makes everything sound good" pedals. Using it on the E-plex mode with Xotic's EP at the end of the chain is mighty fine! Source Audio rocks!

What a fantastic, detailed, and helpful review of what seems to be a powerful tonal multi-tool! Thanks for doing such a deep dive on this one… I’m def intrigued.

Well, I take that as a very good indication of how fun and good this pedal must be!

Zio means uncle in Italian, northern Italians also use it as way to say bro/buddy. This pedal really sounds great, will keep it in mind.

My ZIO arrived just yesterday, and I also happen to have the EQD Plumes OD, which I intend to run immediately after it -- curious if you'd tried that pairing (Plumes went first in the chain in this video), but I imagine as with the other dirt pedals used here it's going to sound great either way. Appreciate watching this one get put through its paces, and I've yet to see anything negative about the ZIO so far. A big winner for 2022 it seems.

Is there anyone know a trick on how mod in pickup switcher so it does the Low End Cut and Pultec trick whenever I go to Neck Pickup? Putting some sort of resistor or caps maybe?

Just want to jump in on this question. Yes, our opinion may be a bit biased, but using LOW-CUT mode in front of a high gain amplifier is definitely one of the ways we envisioned using the ZIO. It can serve as kind of an alternative to the way a lot of metal guitarists use Tube Screamers in front of Mesa, Marshall, or EVH amplifiers. The LOW-CUT, cuts the tubby bottom frequencies for a tighter overdrive sound.

Hmm, pondering getting this and dropping it in before my HX Effects to help boost the tone a bit. Signal Path; Guitar -> ZIO -> HX Effects -> Fender Reverb Deluxe '65 reissue (no effects loop) Think this would be worthwhile?

That's certainly one of the mentioned applications, I'd try the FET mode to fatten up the input of the HX. Thanks for watching!

Hey! I think they really suit me better, they’re a little more balanced. The 2/4 positions are fatter too since they aren’t RW. I’ll do an update post on those soon, thanks!

The only problem with this pedal is having to decide to put it first or last on a pedalboard. and no I wont be buying two :(

I wish they would make a pedal like this that can be controlled via midi.

Might want yo tighten up on your timing a little if you’re gonna do bass Andy! But great demo either way. :-)
