I remember watching this when I was little and always laughed at the raspberry part 😂 I sure use to love the percussion piece of this scene, here I am twenty five years later and love my drums :) been playing for twenty years

Oh how this brings back such a wonderful childhood memory. Fantasia was like my favorite movie for so many years, and I can't even count how many times I watched it. I could never get enough of it.

This was playing before joywave played their set the first time I saw them, in a little tiny venue in salt lake called lol by court. Best concert I have ever been to hands down. You can catch the venue IN their music video destruction :)

I never get the Raspberry but that always cracks me up every time

I love the Soundtrack. It’s so funny. Especially when it does the very low note of the bassoon

Deems Taylor had a great voice for narration. It's a shame that they dubbed over it for the re-release. It makes me really appreciate my old VHS copy.

They had to re-dub because it 2000 when it came to DVD the original recording of Deems Taylor was lost so Cory Burton re-dubbed his lines

It wasn't lost. It was available in all previously released versions including the 1990 VHS. Any idiot could extract his voice using modern technology, and paste it over the Fantasound soundtrack.

The flute was my favorite part in this scene

Many parts of this movie used to scare me for some weird reason, but in a good way, I always liked it...lol. Same with many parts of various Disney singalongs.

In addition the clip from "Fantasia" where he introduced the soundtrack, I have the LP that I got at Goodwill yesterday, and it's another stereo demonstration record on the Project 3 label and it's a stereo test record. This is even way better compared to the "Soundtrack" part used in "Fantasia". It was produced by Enoch Light, and this was the album where you can test the balance of your stereo including high & low frequencies and many others. It had the orchestra part on the other side.

This is almost exactly what I see in my head when I play the piano. Except the line is more like a path that loops and swirls and doubles back on itself.

Shortest drum solo in history but so damn good!

This is the original Deems Taylor voice. The 1990 VHS was extremely popular and that's why they think they have the original. This is the original clip lock, stock, and barrel.

Because, lost were the original recordings for Deems Taylor, so all it took was Corey Burton redubbing the lines, restored footage, ADR and a miracle in trying to recreate the original roadshow version.

Venus Gametrap Probably because the sound gets so loud and high. It still gives me a jump from time to time, but the visual fits the sound so well I just laugh it off :-P

I find it funny how the trumpet and basoon scared me when I was younger.

can anyone explain to me why the dialogue and the voice sound different from the VHS fantasia Black Diamond edition that i watched as a kid in the 80s and 90s? was it a different actor? was it redubbed by someone else in a recording studio? the inflection and delivery of the lines is definitely not the same here as I remember.

i love this part of the movie. but in the movie i have the narrator's voice sounds a little different and it didnt show him when he was narrating what act was coming next. can someone explain that to me? is this like a special edition of the movie perhaps?

When they were restoring Fantasia to its original 1940 length, some of Taylor's audio, that hadn't been seen in decades, had deteriorated too much to be used.

"Every beautiful sound also creates an equally beautiful image." This is the rule I've lived by ever since i first watched the movie at age 2. I'm 18 now and I've played lead electric guitar since my sophmore year. I can't stand today's music(rap, pop, R&B) because it truly is a sound with no image to it. You can't just slap some bland lyrics to a generic beat and call it music. You seriously have to have that visual inspiration and that raw power of a real instrument to make it true music.

So this is where Microsoft got the idea for their audio player background....

Someday I'm planning to make my very own Fantasia movie because I love classical movie and I love the movie. But I'm calling it, "Nature Fantasia." So rather than random stories, all of it is surrounded by God's creation. Do you have any ideas for a nature segment I can do with Eine Kleine Nachtmusik?

Deems' dialogue was useless and might have been destroyed in the late 1950s-early 1960s. If you can find a way to imitate Deems Taylor of find ANY ARCHIVE FOOTAGE of Deems Taylor, can you PLEASE get it on DAT and send it to me?
