SoundStage! InSight - Amphion's Three Newest Argon Loudspeakers (April 2018)
Amphion's Anssi Hyvönen and Martin Kantola describe the technical details behind the company's newest Argon-series speakers -- the bookshelf 3S and the floorstanding 3LS, and 7LS. In the development phase, the company discovered that the use of a passive radiator versus a port not only improved the bass performance, it improved the midrange performance also. In this video you will see and hear why. Amphion has been designing and building loudspeakers in Finland for more than 20 years.

This is a highly respected manufacturer and I would love to hear this one in the stand mounted size. I prefer the monitors that aren’t floor standing as this is for studio as well as critical listening use. I haven’t time for mediocre anything and this is one brand I respect!
Just bought a pair of 3LS. They look great and sound just as good. Respond really well to louder volumes. Sensitive to listening position but suited to all types of music, from live blues to orchestral. Big upgrade from my old Celestion A2.
So many different views regarding these and so many other types of speaker technology ..I quess at the end of the day it comes down to your personal taste and your budget and lastly you're listening room.
I demoed the Argon 3S recently and they were sublime; accurate and very clean.
Still, an innovative company, amongst all the other "me too" companies.
Screws on the outside, a dealbreaker, these look nicely built
I am getting a pair of Argon1's incoming

I am interested in the Argon 3LS, or maybe the 7LS, but I still have to hear them. I am wondering if you have experience of how these will sound when paired with a power-amp based on Class D Purify Eigentakt modules, which are known measure very analytical and precise? Could it lead to “too much” analytics and precision in the sound? Would I need a tube pre-amp to

You're using high quality silver plated wires but a passive crossover...
I wonder if these would be much cheaper if they were built in China?
Looks like Buchardt, probably overpriced like them as well
Tweeter wave guides are just a cheap semi horn design marketed by everyone right now. A few years from now they will go back to flush mount and call it flat guide. Also passive radiators are such an 80s Polk Audio strategy. Nothing new here.
