This is one of those songs that grows on you the more times you listen to it. Chris doesn't really stand out here, which is why some are quick to dismiss this song. But with repeated listens you can appreciate how Kim and Matt really shred it here, and how Ben ties everything together with his powerful and driving bassline. I love it!

Dark and psychedelic, this sounds totally like an early demo from the Screaming Life era that was discussed about, but also has an Ultramega OK vibe to it. This prooves that the band knows what SG needs to sound like. It's the way King Animal should've sounded. Totally the new SG from the 21st century.

So let me get this staight. Any good album from 2014 should sound like and album from 1994, but not 1984, like from when this song was written, because in this case, it was too psychedelic and therefore needed to be from a band from 1964...

Dave Grohl How is my head in my ass? I was just pointing out how fucking ridiculous that sounds. Why do we need these musical barriers saying "This can only sound like this because they're this,"? Fuck it. It's all irrelevant anyway, this is a re recording of a song from 1984 performed by the same people (minus Hiro Yamamoto) who wrote it thirty years ago. It can't "not sound like Soundgarden" because it's a fucking Soundgarden song! Have you listened to Down on the Upside recently? This band put Ty Cobb and Applebite and Boot Camp all on the same album and they don't sound alike in any way, let alone the stuff from the previous four LP's or two EP's from the thirteen years prior.

AMAZON PURCHASE INFO: Among the seven unreleased tracks is a brand-new recording, 'Storm,' recorded in May with producer Jack Endino in Seattle. The new collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil. 'Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path' is the first time an official Soundgarden release has included more than 26 years of rarities that have appeared as B-sides, album bonus tracks, EPs, soundtracks, compilations and live recordings, a must for any fan of the band. The package features three separate thematic discs in a clear plastic slipcase with three separate mini-jackets, each sporting its own unique art, a booklet and inserts, allowing fans to mix and match, personalizing their own album graphic layout.

Phase shifting ≠ psychedelic.
this is great!
Masterpiece by my favourite band SG ! 💪🏻🤘🏻😎👏🏻🎵🎸🎶🎤🎶🔊⚡💥✨
Very unusual and relaxing love it love Chris!
You can really hear killing joke in this song!!!! Love this song!!!
this is what I LOVE about Soundgarden, no 2 albums or even songs are alike. they are so diverse. Embrace it for what is is people, SOUNDGARDEN .
That bass creates a great undercurrent. The guitar is a gentle lightning sting and the bass is the leviathan creeping up in the water.

Back to the 90s
I'm really digging this, Ithink it sounds cool and different
so Awsome. genius
So fuckin cool! This band can never be pigeonholed! Truly eclectic musicians! This will precede the b sides collection I believe.
I love it
Mother marie! This reminds me alot of Gruntruck. What a great track!
Dave Grohi did do the clip for the track on King Animal -good interview on KZread - and love the clip - loosen up and love - we get one life - the more we can enjoy the happier we can be - Soundgarden has enhanced my life experience

Yes to this and the First Fifteen demos as well!
soundgarden es de las unicas bandas que no perdieron su escencia musical. eso demuestra integridad. junto con pearl jam son los mejores del mundo actualmente.
very good, cornell is top spiritual connector still (said fir)
Piola, cuando el siguiente disco ?
Its good... Mel-lo. I like
Love this one. King Animal is not my thing, but this one is. Strangely reminds me Alice In Chains.
Again, sounds like a lost song from 'Down on the upside', nice
This reminds me of MIND RIOT mixed with superunknown! Love that song! (mind riot)
cool
Can't wait for "Echo of Miles"!
the sound, this is it. a 2nd phase after hiatus (i dont like to use broke up) continuosly after king animal...kim guitar works sounds awesome
Woooowwwww that song directly comes from late 80's... Sounds like Skin Yard's debut album. Maybe because of Jack Endino.
Its fucking weird. I love it.
Like diving into an ocean of dark gray lurking beneath the fog.
Sounds very retro Soundgarden, Ultramega OK with a mix of king animal in the chorus for sure
still better than taylor swift...
For a min I thought it was Vedder singing. Still remain a SOUND GARDEN FAN!!
Soundgarden :D
Been a soundgarden fan since 1990...I like this a lot!!! These guys are great (not a huge fan of "down on the upside", though appelbite and overfloater were pretty sweet)
Gotta hear it live before I decide its fate!!!
Curious that so many people describe what we've all here to hear.
Monster of rock R.i.p Lord of grunge
R.I.P. Chris!
Yeah! Alchemy! \m/
Sounds like it could have been an outtake from the Screaming Life EP.
Do Hope Theres A New Album Coming On The Way.
Kinda has a Skin Yard vibe, like the early Grunge sound that still had a post punk feel aside heavy metal. Chris sounds good though. I was expecting Heretic 2 lol

AMAZON PURCHASE INFO: Among the seven unreleased tracks is a brand-new recording, 'Storm,' recorded in May with producer Jack Endino in Seattle. The new collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil. The package features three separate thematic discs in a clear plastic slipcase with three separate mini-jackets, each sporting its own unique art, a booklet and inserts, allowing fans to mix and match, personalizing their own album graphic layout.
Ooh pretty. Reminds me a little of Echo and the Bunnymen. I wonder what tuning it's in?
couls some of you recommand me here some postgrunge bands/albums especially worth knowing.. I am old grunge fan esp liking Beck, sonic Youth, STP, RATM, Soundgarden.. recently turning back to some postgrunge bands by now it was collective soul, and third eye blind .. but searching for more .. this can be maybe good place to ask
Different, couldn't hear this on King Animal, but I have to say I really like it.
