Great stuff Chris! It's a good speaker, IMO the problem is the fact that the original motion boom is already sooooo good. In the UK you can regularly get the booms for 70-75 pounds, and the boom+ is 189 pounds without a discount. (Will probably end up around 150, surely). I actually ordered one of the boom+ with the early bird discount, and returned it after a couple of weeks. Wasn't impressed with the battery life, and for inside listening I found it a bit thin sounding. I already had a original boom so bought a second one of those instead for tws paring. You should check out Alan Ross reviews (does really quirky and detailed speaker reviews) for his comparison of one boom+ vs. 2 booms. Having said that, if you don't have any speaker and you are looking for a super loud outdoor party speaker for BBQ's or the beach or something, I'd definitely still recommend the boom+. Soundcore make awesome speakers!!

I was going to get this one and suddenly stormbox blast popped up. Got it 2 weeks ago for 200 usd. Whatever it is, this man is very reliable on reviews.

I have another portable BT speaker coming, on from Tribit with LED light which is a nice touch. However the highs aren't as good as this one.

Thats true... Stormbox has more quality sound than this Motion Boom Plus which I bought. But its kinda heavy for me while I'm walking with my dog. So my best choice was Soundcore MB+ rather than Tribit Stormbox. But I am planning to buy Tribit later on to add to my Speaker Collection. Most Speakers I have is Jbl but jbl is kinda pricy 😊

@@rexpacificussabay5771 it is heavy and that is why I bought another one. Also, got bb3 for 310 usd on a flash sale. The bad thing is, it is the camo color variant. I'm looking forward to have the boom 2 from soundcore since it is smaller and can fit in my underseat storage. It's currently priced 100usd which I find overpriced. Got the 2nd blast for 135usd. I'll wait when tribit releases the same form factor with the boom 2. For now, I am quite satisfied with 2 blasts and 1 bb3.

Nice speaker. I have Tronsmart T6 mini and Grundig GBT JAM. Both are great little speakers :)

So many of these BT are great especially when you factor in the size. I do like the treble from these better highs than others I've tested in the past. I've got a Tribit speaker now I'm testing very similar but with RGB leds and weaker highs.

Alan Ross does great reviews on these products. A relatively small channel, that focuses almost entirely on Bluetooth speakers. I still think most people would probably be better off getting a pair of the original motion boom versus one of these. If you can find them for the same price. Of course, I'm pretty sure the pricing varies by region. Either way, Soundcore's app and value proposition puts jbl to shame, imo

I have a pair of original Motion Booms and the outdoor performance is abysmal when there’s other noise going on (A busy pool for example) Ordered two Boom Plus’s hopefully these will be better

Update: A pair of Boom+’s gets amazingly loud. Filled an entire outdoor pool area with 100+ people. I kept the back ports open before putting the speakers outside to vent and prevent the passive radiator from swelling w hot air. Battery life left something to be desired. At max volume, speakers lasted probably like 5 hours.

@TechTablets Is that Tribit your about to review the Stormbox Blast? I've been dying to know if it's much better than the Motion Boom Plus. I just installed the latest firmware update v.34 and finally the Boom Plus is no longer harsh in the highs. I also have 2 Motion Booms which IMHO don't sound as good as 1 Boom Plus.

It's a pity that there aren't any reviews of 2 Boom Pus in stereo mode yet. These are priced at the level of a single JBL. I enjoy the sound of the Boom Plus in the stereo triangle and wouldn't want to be without it.

You can get 2 soundcore motion plus speakers that can work in stereo mode for £140 as an alternative. High res audio capable and highly portable. I've had mine for over 3 years and they are still going strong. Overall, I'm pleased with the brand.

@@waynedexter the motion plus speakers are significantly smaller than the boom plus speaker. 1 motion plus is probably a quarter of the size of the boom.

I have both... Just received the Boom plus last week and with some eq tweaking it can sound very close to the motion plus but with a much fuller bass/midbass sound, the boom plus is a very powerful speaker capable of easily pissing off the neighbours.. Its remarkable what it can do for its size and for those who complain it isn't hifi sound they're correct, it isn't a hifi ( I've loads of proper vintage audiophile hifi, Dac's, subs etc..) but it's a clean fun sound that is more than capable of running a bbq, garden party etc... Unbelievable for the money 😊👌

This Speaker is best when you play Acoustics, Jazz, Instrumentals or Love Songs.

Do you have a review of the Lenovo Legion Y700 coming? It's been forever since a decently specced 8in tablet was released.

Nope the .34 didn't get rid of it...guess the .36 firmware is said to deal with the highs to smooth the highs. I have one of the batch that have the bulging passive radiators when it gets hot. I will have to send it back for a replacement...I here Soundcore said it's been fixed on the ones they are sending out now. Will have to see..I don't want to abandon ship,. Hope they address all the issues.

Got one today £160 amazon discount . Was after the stormbox but they're not in stock till september, too many bbqs without some bass! Respect to those mentioning Alan Ross 👏 Lots of it depends on you're music taste ,so not rally heard reggae, old school hiphp on it yet. Hopefully khruangbin's funky bass will do the job. Can't argue paying £160 , will probably get the Tribit blast when I can. Just shows you don't need to spend over £250 on something, when these deliver.

It can be yes. Just plug in the power bank it will charge it but slowly.

I've had them all ..The motion plus is a lovely little speaker if you like a more clinical sound but seriously lacks bass..The Boom is nice for the money but lacks good treble ..The Boom plus now it has upgraded the firmware is more a combination of the others but with a whole lot more power..I like using it with a dap player using the aux so I can play flac files..Personally I play mostly EDM so the boom plus all day long ..Adjusting the equaliser tho would be fine for whatever music you like..I gave my motion plus speakers to my daughter ,The booms will probably go to my son now, and I will have 2 boom plus,s..🤣

My Honest Opinion: This speaker is worth the money you are paying for. But I am not saying it has the best quality. But i bought this speaker because it has almost all the features I am looking for. First it has fine good quality but not saying the best. Second, not that expensive compared to its direct competitors. Lastly the weight is not that heavy which suits my purpose. I bought this speaker because I always walk with my dog. If I use those too much small speakers I dont think I can enjoy much. So this is by far my best choice even if it doesnt have the best quality sound. But it passes my ear standard. That's my honest opinion. Thanks

The links don't work. a price would nice. a product is only as good as the price that must be paid for.

sounds good. but looks cheap. instead of the metal grid if they would've used fabric to cover the speaker could been better.

@@Techtablets The grille is fairly easy to remove, at which point you can cover it with whatever fabric you want :-). The advantage of the fabric-covered BT speakers (like the JBLs) is fabric doesn't dent, scratch or rust. Much better for outdoors on-the-go use. The JBLs are also a lot more expensive, so...

Seems like the internal battery is low enough to be allowed onto planes - so doesn’t have to be a domestic beach holiday!

Soundcore is lying about the wattage .... The Motion Boom Plus has 25 watt Drivers and 15 watts Tweeters.. I've seen the tear down and it's printed as so on the back of each magnet.

@@RJ-cq8dd .....promoted by Soundcore as ,"60 (2×30) watts in woofer and 20 watts (2×10) in Tweeter".... have you seen the way the bass radiators EXPAND and jut OUTSIDE of the unit in 80 degree heat?? This was supposed to be and outdoor speaker, as well.??

cheaper than the JBL and slightly better numbers, but that atrocious handle and lack of rubber cladding to minimize scratches.
