Host Jen Eckert takes you inside the Count Basie Center for the Arts where viewers will hear from singer Beth Hart, who brings her raw, blues sound to the Basie stage. Beth talks about how love, life and her mental health journey have influenced her songwriting. Iconic guitarist Slash also discusses working with her. Beth performs a mix of original songs as well as covers of Led Zeppelin and Etta James.

She only does small US swings as she lives in the Netherlands now... plan a road trip... it is worth any and ALL EFFORT you need to make... I've seen countless shows of all genres... literally all.. She is top 5 all time... I usually rent a car and drive to long distance shows to avoid issues with my personal vehicle... do this for yourself

What is a healthy weight loss? She said she lost weight during the pandemic because she was stressed and hardly ate.

She went off of antipsychotics and is treated with CBD and mushrooms. That will cause weight loss.

Beth said at a recent concert that she’d been very sick (mentally) for the last 3 years. She cancelled her U.S. tour and was hospitalized because she went off her one of her meds and became suicidal. She’s feeling better and back to touring fall 2023.

Her 2023 concert schedule is now canceled. She did an initial concert that was live streamed. She came out a half hour late, and the band members looked tense. She performed well, but said that she had been using for the last three years. She had gone back into treatment, and back on meds. She said she was feeling better (and looked better), but then cancelled her tour. The poor lady just doesn’t seem to be able to get away from her demons. I hope she’s getting the help she needs. I feel terrible for her, and Scott. They both deserve the best. The band members, and her manager also need our prayers. Get well Beth, we all love you❤️❤️❤️

Been through so much and just keeps gettin better. Like a fine wine, better with age. There's only a few that sing with that intensity and just keep getting better. I dare say, Janis reincarnated. This is just my opinion.

No. She was on Star Search and was good even then. Later there are videos of her singing off stage with fans and once with a hotel band singing a jazz standard after one of her shows and she sounds that good. I wouldn't be surprised if her albums didn't have some pitch correction just because that's what sound engineers just love to do no matter how good of a singer they are.

@@orlock20 watch as she sings, she moves her mike from mouth to almost her waist and the sound doesn't change. That doesn't happen in real life.

@@garynail5292 She increases the loudness while moving the microphone away to keep the same volume for the hardware. Microphones are set at one level determined by the sound engineer at sound check. Beth Hart whispers and roars. If the volume is set to where the audience can hear her whisper then when she roars, the sound wave will clip in the hardware and sound bad. To prevent this, she moves the microphone away from her mouth which lessens the amount of vibration being picked up by the microphone. his takes skill. Most singers sing in one volume throughout their show which is why you don't see it often.

@@garynail5292 I recorded and mixed this show. Beth's performance is 100 percent live, no pitch fixes either which is very rare these days. She is way off the mic at times but she is just very powerful and knows how to work her mic, and the compressor I used evens things out quite a bit. Check out any of her live videos that are professionally mixed and you will see she always works her mic like this.
