@Ghostneedle1 The line is from the Bank Heist at the beginning of The Dark Knight. The bank manager says that to the Joker crew as they are heisting. William Fichtner plays the guy, and the line/performance is pretty amazingly delivered.

LASO is basically experiencing what the enemies go through when you play on easy.

Thomas John @i don’t agree. Halo 4 and 5 may PALE in comparison to Bungies games, but they and the rest of the halo series stands miles above almost anything else on the market today. Nah fuck that, they do a lot of standing around not really shooting. Its why the plasma pistol works pretty well in Reach against elites while in other games they try and actually dodge it.Combine that with low numbers and they just kinda suck.

Yeah, but you can steal Wraiths without punching them to hell. Kill the gunner (usually a Grunt) and EMP the Wraith. Jump into the turret (you can do this in Reach) and the driver will hop out. Kill the driver for a pristine quality wraith, 3rd person perspective and a gun that can arc over cover.

Props to the editor in the beginning cutscene. The fast name switching whenever someone else was talking was really funny to me.

I feel like we dramatically underappreciated that Gavin took on two Elites in an enclosed space with a sword while they had concussive blasters. It's like Gavin has a Jimmy Neutron moments and remembers how obsessively he played Halo and just does amazing things

Elites tend to not fire while you’re right up near them. They’ll often go for a melee and fail.

The whole bit about Johnson having a rare disease is actually the cover story for him having been in the Spartan 1 program. It's still the reason the flood never infected him though, they needed a reclaimer, and didn't know about John at the time, so he was saved to try and let them out cause he was the only other one who could have deactivated the containment measures.

My understanding was that the only reason the Flood didn't infect Johnson was that the Spartan-I augmentations scrambled his brain in a way that made him more difficult to infect.

@@autumngottlieb3071 nope, he had trace bits of the "reclaimer" in him, just the same as John did. His brains weren't scrambled at all. They did the whole oh, "cancer from a crate of plasma Grenades" as ONI cover for him having been a spartan 1. Contact harvest I believe also talked about it. It's the novel of the like, first official contact between humans and covenant, and both Johnson and Tartarus are main characters.

Quick tip if they read the comments: The drop (bubble) shield restores health over time by standing in it, so it's a good thing to have even if shields are gone.

“This is how Elites should be feared.” Couldn’t have said that better. Always felt that gameplay wise they were underplayed in comparison to how they’re portrayed in the lore.

@@april5054 I mean in lore Elites are compared to be equal to spartans in terms of strength, armor, and skill. The only reason in gameplay they are not to hard on normal is because of the fact your outliers in the Halo Games playing as either Chief or Noble 6 who are both labeled Hyper Lethal Vectors.... Or Halo 5 where everyone is a wimpy wiener in the campaign.

Gameplay wise they could not Have been as they are lore wise. A single basic elite was stronger then most spartans and the stronger of them could take a few in a fight with minimal injury. Hell a elite straight up picks Emile up in reach itself. The Overarching story of halo is that humaity was attacked by a far more powerful enemy and that wasn't only based on technological advancements.

Gavin in the forklift is one of my favourite moments. He just sounds so genuinely happy and amused. Like a kid on Christmas morning who got EXACTLY what he asked for and it's just a giant useless yellow forklift. The sounds of sheer joy and Michael being too bamboozled to form words just perfectly embody their relationship and why they're so funny together.

In case anyone cares: Sergeant Johnson didn't get immunity from the Flood from plasma grenades. That was a cover story for the real reason for his genetic muckery -- he's an Orion soldier. Orion was the first supersoldier program, the predecessor to Spartan II (it wasn't called Spartan I). It's also why he's like seventy and still running around.

When was that retconned into a cover story? I thought it made perfect sense - he suffered nerve damage, refused treatment in order to jump back into the fight, and so the Flood couldn't understand his body's twisted structure and left him alone.

​@@stirlinghicks3931 Surprisingly, a long time ago. In the Halo Graphic Novel (2006), there's a page with some cryptic text chat between two mystery figures. They're talking about an uncommon amount of interest in "alpha juliett juliett 20114" (Avery Johnson) from alpha20101 (Ackerson, probably?) and hotel4695 (Halsey, probably?). Near the start of the dialogue, one of them refers to the "Paris/BS" spoof, which most likely refers to how Johnson's story is that he contracted Boren's Syndrome on Paris IV. Referring to it as a "spoof" is why it sure seems like it's not true and likely the cover story for any medical anomalies he (and other Orion soldiers) exhibit on file.

Which, really, should mean they definitely need him to make it off Reach just as much as Chief, but... Regardless, it has nothing to do with 6's lethality. As a III, he's just not as strong, fast, etc, as a II.

Rewatching this series, it does not feel like 3 years since it came out. I watched this as it was being released and remember anticipating the next episode.

Some are up to interpretation, and Jeremy is pretty busy during the recording with playing the game and everyone screaming. I like having some alternative counts to give us a more complete view

of course some people will get different counts depending on how to tally certain deaths i.e. multiple deaths in one reset, team kills, etc. For team kills I still count the death against the person that was team killed. And for multiple deaths I only count the ones that were simultaneous.

I've done this level so many times on the original release that I remember you can skip every fight from 12:06 to 38:52 just by running around the enemies to the next checkpoint.

You can also emp the falcon after the first encounter and fly it to the second half of the mission.

Yeah, but emping the falcon is real inconsistent tho. Sometimes it falls, sometimes it doesn’t.

There is a Spartan Ted, he was a commander and teacher of Spartan III's and was one of 2 Spartans to survive a battle that wiped out almost the entirety of bravo company

Actually Johnson had nerve damage from the Spartan 1 program and the Borons syndrome is meant to be a cover up for the damage from the program. But I'm proud of Ryan for knowing most of the lore, new favorite achievement hunter

1:07:15 reminds me so much of a moment from the greatest lets play Achievement Hunter ever made. GTA IV: Co-op Gavin driving the baggage carrier, past Geoff who's zoomed in during a fight. It's such a similar sequence to this.

The explanation is that the Spartan-IIIs of Noble Team were pulled for special assignments prior to their companies' respective suicide missions. I believe that Spartan-IIIs being equipped with Mjolnir was a new idea when Reach came out, though. Also, Ghosts of Onyx takes place over a span of, like, twenty years. The earliest scene is in 2531, when Colonel Ackerson proposes the Spartan-III program.

I love to hear this! Halo Reach was my first Halo game (only ever played a bit of 3’s custom games at friends’ houses), and I’ve since played through the whole series on MCC as well as the original versions. Halo is easily my favorite franchise.

Strongly agreed! I absolutely adore the Halo series, games and expanded shiz. I had similar exposure; I played Halo: CE and Halo 3 with family members when I was far too young to actually appreciate them. Halo: Reach was my first 'true' entrance into the franchise.

Reach was also my first HALO, but I stopped playing HALO after I switch to the XBOX 1. Seeing this series tho was the sole reason for me going out n buying MCC.

That scene where the elites back out with the hostage and noble 5 shuts the door behind you I was so hyped for a cage fight style showdown with the sword elites, I was a little disappointed when it didn't happen like that but either way love this game and love the halo franchise

Johnson was a "spartan-I", but it was originally the ORION Project. It changed names. His disease is Boren's Syndrome, which is really just a coverup to hide the after-effects of the ORION Project injections. I miss this game so much. The regular Halo game line was very action packed and straight forward. ODST and Reach struck me as games where you had to balance between slowing down and working cleverly with a few high intensity action events.
