People still steal car audio ? Here in Europe that is almost a thing from the past, no money in that, a sub box will get you 50 bucks on the street. Here they go for the whole car, or a Rolex on your arm or things that bring a couple of thousand.

I missed having trunk space so i picked up a 10”w7 it didn’t hit hard enough. I actually like the Skar vxf-12 and the zvx-12 they take alot of power so it takes more power to do the same damage as one single jl w7 on 1000/1. The Skars i lam pushing 2500 watts. If you want efficiency with less Power go kicker or Jl. I was really young back in 2001 i spent alot on that jl setup.

Great review of the JL W7 and Focal speakers! The audio quality is top-notch and the system sounds amazing. Love how you compared different settings and provided tips on how to optimize your listening experience.
Love this! Solid! My setup was a JL 500/1 powering 2 12W2v3s - JL 300/4 powering front MB Quart 6.5" w 1" titanium tweeters and rear MB Quarts 6.5. RF's - and 1 Farad Capacitor in my 02' Toyota Celica GTS. I will NEVER FORGET the day I upgraded my subs to a JL 1000x1 powering a single 12W7. Had to remove it because it was so powerful. The JL W7 subs moves so much air when they are optimally powered.

I used to have those Focal Flax speakers. Those are really nice. I left them in the car when I sold it. That was part of the reason why the people purchased the car from me. You did a terrific job on the installation. Bravo!

@@pumapunkudevelopment3376 For the particular car I was selling, I had a $2,000+ sound system. I had to off load the car and the guy told me that was one of the more attractive reasons for buying it that the other cars didn't have. This was a smart car, which there were not too many available. He liked the JL subwoofer I had hidden under the dash using a stealth box. Nobody had that setup because people are so cheap and won't spend the money. I want good sound in every car I have. I've never heard a factory set up I've liked. Not even the top of the line Bang & Olufsen in many of the Ford vehicles. My system blows it away so badly, it's not even funny. When you're paying top dollar for a sound system, theirs should be better. Their engineers just don't care. They have no pride in what they sell. This is why I need to be a decision maker at these car companies so they can stop selling subpar stuff. They never ask the public their opinion. They just manufacture stuff and hope that we like it. Then they get pissed off when it totally flops.

very rare car and very clean setup. since you are pushing over 1000w of power your next upgrade should be the big3. you will be amazed how clean and loud the system will sound at the same volume you listen to once you get it done. dont hold out on it too cuz even with a capacitor you are still stressing the alternator. the last thing you want is your car to be out of commission specially if its your daily

12w7 is rated for 1000 rms watts, his amp is rated for 1200 RMS. When he refers to ohms i think he is refer to Box Rise. Then he is probably getting 1450rms out of both roughly. JL isnt what it use to be, it is still good but you are paying for a name. A sundown x-10 would be about the same but the price would about $200-$300 cheaper. I am 52 and been installing since i was 15 yrs old but each one has their own preference. So good job, i was glad it was that style of cap and not the tube style u can buy for $50 or less. Your just buying a a glorified volt meter that is taking power away but yes a Big 3 or Big 4 would get you super clean bass. Have fun with it

I used to have a 13.5 w7 back in 2008. I worked at a shop installing and the dude I was doing install for sold me a slightly used one for 200!!!! Bro I was broke and didn't really have 200 to spend but you already know you can't pass that up. It definitely sounded awesome in a 2.8 cubic foot ported enclosure tuned to 32hz. Turned around and sold it for 600 a few weeks later and bought a 15" FI BTL. Great video! My first W7 was a 12! I actually replaced two Pioneer IMPP 15's with a single 12W7. However, there was a catch- The 15's were in a sealed enclosure and the only way the 12W7 could beat the 15's was in a ported enclosure. Back in 2002, I was very impressed. So impressed, that I continued using W7's for 22 years. I had five 12's, three 10's, two 13.5's, and two 8W7's. I have to say my favorite was running a single 13W7 as far as box size to output goes. I went back and forth from ported to sealed and back. I really prefer the sealed sound over the ported, but you need a lot of power and multiple drivers to really have fun. The H.O. enclosures are really amazing for what they are, but if you listen to a wide variety of music as I do, sealed is the only way. I ended up doing a pair of Stereo Integrity SQL-15's in a 4.2 cu. ft. sealed box on a true 3,000 watts and I can say the two 15's sealed beat a single 13W7 sealed AND ported hands down. CONE AREA IS KING. Also, historically - SEALED is the most accurate way to go. My 15's play a wider bandwidth that is also flatter than any ported W7. The only thing that came close to my 15's were a pair of 12W7's in a ported enclosure, and even then - the 12W7's wouldn't play as low as the 15's sealed. It's physics. All I can say, is that I've never been happier! FYI: When I bought my 15's, they were only $50.00 more than a SINGLE 8W7. Right now, the pair would be $50.00 cheaper than a single 10W7. Let that sink in. I DARE YOU TO TRY STEREO INTEGRITY! JL has become way too proud and too greedy. It's quite sad.
Had. W7 back in 05 in a gmc jimmy those things are by far one of the best subs around. I had a 10 with 500w JP amp and even under powered it was crazy loud
