For myself, second only to Mary Poppins (the Julie Andrews version, of course)

Everybody standing around watching, is smiling. At one point, where the children are coming down the stairs, one lady just breaks out in the biggest smile! You can almost see the tears coming to her eyes. I think that if this was done everyday around the world, in a place that just seems sad, it would be a reminder of fun, laughter & life! No words can express the joy that can bring to the human spirit. This was beautifully done!

He died 3 times from cardiac arrest . We prayed all across the nation . Taking authority over death , telling God that we still wanted him here . December 24 2023, I still remember seeing this gif KZread and go viral 14(?ish) years ago and it’s still absolutely beautiful. I miss this time in history; flashmobs, smiles, togetherness, no phones all over and people checked out of everything unless it’s “for the views”. I want to go back.

I was 7 years old then...now @ 68...still watching The Sound of Music till now...thanks to the up loader 🎄⛄🎄💕❤️

The video was done 13 years ago. Technology was not as sharp as it is today.

That's the POWER of music and dance ! It unites people, and it brings emotion, which can even move you into tears. This is the best one ever !

I'm watching this for the first time today, October 1st 2019 It happens to be my Dad's Birthday wish he was still here, if he were he would be 102. Love the sound of music. Saw the movie when it first came out. I never get tired of it. The music is just wounderful. ♡♡

I've been watching this for years now and it still gives me goosebumps to this day...I absolutely love, love, love this flashmob dance and is the best I've ever seen!

Events like this prompt the human spirit, our humanity, the arts. They let us sing. Pray they come back this year.

Bravo, beautiful. The look on the faces of the watching crowd, amazed, happy, appreciative, joyful. The world needs more of this. Not looting, not violent rioting.

The most wonderful thing I find about this videos is you have children adults I want look like senior citizens all dancing together.

A most magical thing about this is its mostly pre-mobile phone era, people are actually watching and experiencing it, not filming it.

Don't know why I'm drawn to watch this video regularly. There's just something so beautiful and compelling about it.

Why did this make me cry? I just get so happy every time the flash mob grows bigger! Especially when they’re playing instruments

Even after all these years, I try to start my day with this gorgeous video ( even if it chokes me up every single time:) How can you be in a bad mood after watching this??

I haven't thought of this in YEARS. Then I watched and the kind of nostalgia that makes you cry. I didn't cry when I first saw it and I remember not crying. But right now I'm ugly crying. I think it has more to do with the fact that it's beautiful to watch people come together even though we live in such divisive times to see a slice of time where the only thing everyone there experienced together was wonder. Best way to describe the feeling is it feels like you're getting a hug from a family member you thought you never see again. True people with depression or anxiety it's just joy. In the purest form. We are at the last of what I hope is the Pandemic. Watching these happy moments bring tears of joy.

This is the first I've seen where closeups of the crowd reveal unbridled delight and surprise. Fantastic footage.
