I've owned both, and what you can't discern in this test is each speakers soundstage and instrument/stage positioning. This was one of the biggest selling points for the KEF Q350 for me, the Klipsch did not follow me around the room like the drivers on the KEF did. Meaning, in my room at least, if you moved out of directly in front of the Klipsch the sound stage went away, with the KEF I can be off to the side at my desk and I still hear some soundstage, they have great placement of instruments too.

Obviously you are not going to get the real picture here. That's like comparing the picture quality of high-end TVs on your shitty laptop monitor. You cannot see what the camera can't record accurately, what the KZread compression algorithm can't retain properly and what you own screen can't show. The same goes for audio.

I enjoyed the sound of the Klipsch. It just sound more alive and I like that. They accent the brass and cymbals nicely. I own an pair of the RP600M and love them. Most of my listening is in the experimental electronic genre of music and they are perfect for that sort of listening. This was a very good comparison.

I listened to both of them live. KEF sounds more natural and has a wide stage, the sound is neutral and not tiring, but it is a detailed and beautiful sound. The Klipsch has a flatter sound with a strong coloration. I vote for KEF, but I wouldn't be able to tell from the video - only after listening to it live.

You're so damn right, I used to own a pair of Klipsch Rp160m, which I believe doesn't have any difference from sound signature with the Rp600m. For me the Klipsch has a pretty wide stage, but the sound imaging is pretty forward and flat to my ears that makes me feel the sound around and in my head, which is pretty tired for listening for hours, and yep the flat sound is the weak point of these speaker. but honestly, for the price range, these pair of speakers producing a very very nicely bass, none of other speakers in this price range can be closer

@@lebtung7447 - I purchased the KEF Q350s at a good 400USD cheaper as well as the Wharfedale Evo 4.2's at 100USD cheaper and to my ears, they are both better speakers unless a "live" sound is your only criterion. The KEF Q350s are better with a varied range of music. My two cents are, the Klipschs are only good value if they are cheaper in the country one is purchasing them in. In India or the UK, they are overpriced for what they bring to the table.

I started my journey with Klipsch RP600M waited for break in but always felt something is wrong. Then watched reviews and realised it’s the mids that are missing and at low volumes all I hear is bright highs. Didn’t like them and returned those replacing with Kef q350. Day and night of difference. My wife was surprised too. Kefs are a different level unless you enjoy U shaped party music at loud volume. This video makes Klipsch sound better with a ton of highs but in reality Kefs are miles ahead. One is premium and Klipsch is good looking mediocre product. Music is subjective, though hence some may not agree with this.

The appeal of Klipsch is not its flat characteristics, but the fact that the horns reduce the amplitude of the diaphragm, which allows for a faster response time and more realistic sound in the treble. This allows for the startling sound of cymbals and the realistic texture of trumpets. This is a unique attraction in klipsch horn speakers that cannot be achieved even if other speakers with dome tweeters use equalizers to lift the treble.

But Klipsch is certainly not flat. Perhaps as Klipsch, he was trying to create a nice, exiting voice by that characteristic. I agree with that characteristic, but I think there are many people who do not like this.

Well, they are quite different. The Klipsch RP600Ms were undoubtedly built to hit a wide audience. I still do have a pair of the 600s. They are quite fun, lively and often characterized as bright but I couldn’t disagree more. That “horn” tweeter and wave guide present a lot of info and will require some moving around in your room to keep in check. That top end detail is brought forward and almost sounds like a stage in front of a stage. You either like it or it can be off putting. It’s all about preference and music as they accept power from a wide array of amplifiers although it’s widely known that Klipsch does some weird stuff with their measurements. However, these are easy to drive and do scale well. They are colored but most things are to a degree. The bracing isn’t world beating and the crossover components are not boutique. However, these aren’t boutique speakers either. The KEF to me sounds a bit dry as if it’s under a table. Not bad at all but it’s a different t flavor. The concentric driver design on the KEF and ELAC speakers give you such good staging and off-axis sound. But again, it’s going to be whether that’s important to you or not. If your room is smaller then that may not matter as much as in my case. I’m usually sitting in one spot or just in another room altogether. To me, I think Klipsch is the better choice for more genres and louder listening (75-85db). The Klipsch need volume to wake up the big driver. They also like at least 7-8ft of distance between them to your listening position. These are both very good but I’d argue the 600s are an engaging, fun, less picky w/placement/power, and can be enjoyed w/HT and 2-channel scenarios.l and IMO that’s what Klipsch was trying to do. And with their silly pricing, you can score a pair for about $350 or less these days. Even if you don’t love them, it’s a fun speaker to use in another system or just sell for no or little ln the end the Klipsch RP600M gets a lot right while falling way short of perfection. However, that does not exist in audio objectively speaking. If I were going to buy KEF, I’d save and spend more on the R3s or just go for the more exotic and better component laden Buchardt MKIIs. It’s just crazy how all this is a game of inches, subjectivity, and compromises.

I guess the horn sounds better coming from a horn. I did hear a lack of low end from it though which probably made it more cramped and shouty. It should sound much better with a sub in bigger room I'm guessing. For Q350 I would try to use it without a sub in the untreated small room perhaps on a desktop computer with nice soundcard with a simple int. amp. This is nice comparison, thx

I am a longtime owner of KEF floor-standing speakers, which finally died after about 33 years. Am now in a smallish room, so replaced them with the Klipsh 600, based on reviews. Used and kept them for about 9 months but felt there was something lacking in the midrange. Bought the KEF 350, and feel like I've arrived back home. Surprising bass for their size, treble is not harsh (as the Klipsch could be at times), but absolutely clear and full in the midrange. Keeping the KEFs, I gave the Klipsch to my son.

While playing a trumpet (for instance) The KEF sounds like a trumpet being played through a speaker. The Klipsch sounds like a trumpet. Disclaimer: I own the Klipsch RP-600M and I've not heard the KEF except in this demo. I play the 600M several hours a day, sometimes loud. They do not make your ears bleed. Maybe some of the older 3-ways did but not the modern 2-way Klipsch.

From this sound comparison here, it sounds like someone is tossing a towel over the KEF-350's as they seem very muffled and veiled. Wheras the Klipsch is very lively and it seems to have the bigger sound stage. NOW I actually own the Klipsch RP-600m's and I can say that it does have a bit of a hole in the midrange at about 1.5k. Double NOW, I also have the KEF-Q350's on the way, and so far, from this demo (and a couple others), I am VERY unsure of my purchase. In all cases, the KEF-350 sounds duller. However, there are others that say here (and in those other demos) that the soundstage of the KEF-Q350 really cannot be duplicated in a KZread video. So when the KEF's come in, I will do the actual sound comparisons myself and will come back here to report my findings.

The sound is different and well distinguishable from one another. Klipsch RP600M very sharply sharpened for analytical listening, the KEF Q350 is more natural and restrained, but less dental in this frequency spectrum. If I made sound correction first on one and then on another pair of speakers, they would directly contradict each other. Loudspeakers shouldn't be so contradictory. Where is the truth?

I like both, different sound signatures, initially tends to like more Klipsch, after some time listening they looks to be a bit fatiguing for the ears, too bright on the metals high ... on the other side, KEF sounds more natural and fuller, but a little faded. I am in the battle to decide to buy one or another, but I think for now I'd go with KEF.

Coincidentally, i have both loudspeakers in the above-mentioned comparison and the closest thing to the amp used i.e. the Cambridge Audio CXA81 (the one used in the vid was CXA61). Seeing that i was in somewhat a position to gauge the accuracy and adequacy of the video insofar as conveying the Sonic signature of the featured loudspeakers were concerned, i immediately listened to the comparison video through my RME ADI-2 DAC FS and Hifiman HE400is and Audio Technica M50 in order to eliminate the room and to account for the very different frequency tuning and other variable responses of both headphones (yes, that also plays a part). Right off the bat, this video is completely and utterly useless insofar as conveying what the KEF Q350 sounds like. And the only manner in which, to my mind, it informs the listener of either loudspeaker is that the Klipschs have a more prominent treble which, again to my mind, is very little information to proceed on. Otherwise, this video falls dangerously short of conveying how these loudspeakers truly sound, especially if somebody is basing their purchase on it. For a light Sunday afternoon chuckle, sure! 😄

The KEF will have a wider soundstage all day long (on all genres of music). Also the best separation of instruments. However, the Klipsch has better overall clarity. There’s something special about those horns. The detail is almost exaggerated at times, but it sounds like you’re live and very close to that drum kit. If you only have the two speakers and you want to fill the room with a wide soundstage, the KEF might be better and more balanced. The clarity and detail in vocals, upper mids, and treble is higher with the Klipsch, though. Depends on one’s preference. Also, the KEF is more treble forward than these Klipsch, ironically. But not with the same detail. Meh… I would choose Klipsch.

Il n'y a pas de différence notable entre les deux, mais mon choix va vers les Kef dont les basses sont plus généreuses et l'écoute est plus douce, les klipch sont fatigantes au bout d'un certain temps, donc les kef c'est mon choix😊

when I visited klipsch showroom the sales man looked at me top to bottom and said " you can't afford these" lol well he was right I changed my mind about klipsch. I no longer want cheap loud speakers. XD then I looked around fund MA Silver 100 costs almost double that of RP600M but perfect for my taste and fits my poor wallet. I'm glad Klipsch thinks I'm not worthy of their over priced garbage, mid range is poor and gets annoying with overpowering high at times.

I am listening on a very good system and it's not even close. The Kefs sound natural and great (considering the source is a compressed YubeTube video) and the Klipsch are shouty, in your face and has no sound stage. The sound should not appear to come from the actual speakers. The sound should come from in-between the speakers and further back, rather in your face. I understand why some people in the comments think the RP600M are better, but they aren't even in the same ball park. Kef speakers are not as efficient as Klipsch, so they won't play quite as loud at the same volume on the amp and E Project should have balanced the gain for each speaker. It's not a bad thing for small speaker to be less efficient, because when you feed them some power, they come alive and stay tight without sounding shouty and harsh. Kef speakers are as detailed as you would want a speaker to be and even too much for some people. Klipsch are blaring right in your face, even at low volume. They give me instant listening fatigue. I have the Q100s, LS50s, R900s and many other speakers and the Kefs are very natural, airy and detailed, but they take a bit more juice to wake them up, because most of them dip into the 3ish ohms. My LS50s are much harder to drive than my R900s, but when hooked to my JC1 mono blocks, the LS50s sound incredible. The LS 50s need a VERY competent amp to shine their best. The Q350s are 87dB efficiency (if I remember right) and they dip into the mid 3 ohms. Some people say the "Kefs sound flat", but nothing could be further from the truth. Their amp sounds flat because it can't produce dynamics with 3 ohm loads and lower efficient speakers. In my opinion lower efficiency in small speakers in a good thing, because stiffer drivers (less efficient to move) stay together (much) better when you push them with more power and sound much better than shouty high efficient speakers, which are easy to excite the drivers. Way too easy to over excite the drivers, even at modest volumes.

@@januszpuawski3909 I think Kef and Parasound have great synergy, but any decent high current neutral amp should work well with the Kefs. I have some B&K amps and they work well with Kefs as well, yet more laidback and a bit warmer sound. All Parasound amps are direct coupled, thus have no capacitors in the signal path.

It's because klipsch are bright speakers the kef will always sound muffled when compared to klipsch that being said it's just sound preference kef has better mids and klipsch has a dip in the mids I personally love both for different reasons if you listen at low volumes a high sensitivity speaker like klipsch is going be dynamic and no detail loss as for more traditional speakers you have to turn them up a bit to come alive

Their horn loaded designs make everything else sound dull. These KEF'S or the brighter LS50's, whatever. I don't think Klipsh generaly shoots for comletely ballanced reproduction of the source recording. 🙂
