The Uni-Fi 2.0 definitely sounds more transparent in the midrange!

Tracks like: "Is Leroy on it" and "Pull me closer", show an exceptional performance of the DBR62's. In contrast, the UB52's sound forward and 'empty', imo.

Leroy on it is what literally just sold me on the debut reference over the unifi. Polices were about the same. Liked the sound of the debut refence better, just sounded nicer, more comfortable, more musical.

Those reinforced what I was suspecting, that the UB52 would be more fatiguing. The DBR62 engulfs you in music, while the UB52 throws music at you..

62 - for bass lovers, 52 - for lovers of wide and open mids with highs.

52 combined with sub for best of both!

Is necessary to know if the original sound have all this bass...

IMO, the DBR62 is truly one of the best speakers on this channel at any price. Andrew Jones hit a grand slam when he designed these gems!

The DBR62 is by far the more neutral and musical loudspeaker. The only things the UB52 has on it is a trace more air and refinement in their top end, and a bit more soundstage depth. It's still not even close. More softly textured driver materials than aluminum is partialy responsible I believe, along with much more accurate voicing.

Akthough this amp helps to improve the weak bass and hard highs of the UB52 somewat, it's still no match for the DBR62

I actually like the Unifi 2 C2 as my center channel for my home theater, DBR6 as L\R, Debut 2 B6 as surround rear, Debut 2 Atmos for heights

God, you've pretty much mixed the whole "affordable" range ELAC has. I'm on Uni-Fi 2s for my fronts, trying to decide on new side speakers to replace my Pioneers. If either one of the UB52 or the DBR62 was less deep than 10.5 inch I'd decide base on that, but...

@@TheBorsMistral I’m swapping out my front l for UF52 and eventually rears for UB52 the concentric design is just superior all around. Way better off axis response.

UB52 seems to sound better to me, the DBR62 sounds muffled.

That's funny. I'd say the opposite. Different people hear it differently.

Compared to the DBR62, the UB52 sounds like an old surround kitchen countertop radio (sry I don't master audiophile vocabulary). The DBR62 engulfs you in music, whereas the UB52 throws music at you.

the ub52 is far more sexy

I'm still not a big fan of the amp.

That's ok. William and I have enough love for it to cover everyone here. E seems to like it too, as he uses it with a lot of different speakers, more than any other amp besides the Arcam
