I’m convinced they added GPF filters so we would slowly climatise ourselves to electric vehicles, if we no longer had that noise and visceral experience of proper “engines” then we wouldn’t miss them as much. Hey can’t make combustion engines seem appealing more than the milk float alternatives can we! Great video Joe finally sounds like it should

That is actually the reason why the db is forced to get lower, though I believe the authorities realise themselves soon it's not realistic in the end.

It's obvious. The EU pushed for regulations only for the purpose of switching away from combustion engines to an electric powerplant. The reasons aren't eco reasons, it's purely political. EU terrorists know that oil prices will probably spike because of something they're planning (hence why they're the first to know about it). So to prevent a collapse of vehicle travel because of some WW3 they're going to ignite...they're pushing for electric alternatives right now rapidly. Either that or oil is running out but they're keeping it low-key, because they don't want the dollar to collapse

I think so too. With new EU regs making car exhausts be a max of 68 dB... that's nothing. A toilet flushing is louder than that.

Totally agree. And in the clips with the original exhaust, the tyre noise is actually louder! What will they force upon us next, skinny wheels and tyres? I’m sick of these restrictions being forced on motorists of performance cars. The noise restrictions are taking the soul out of our cars. And like you say, conditioning us to electric “silence”.

Sounds great! Love an exhaust with a dual personality 🙌

I’ve got an F82 M4 Comp with a stock sports exhaust and I have to say that it sounds almost on par with your upgraded Milltek system, I get plenty of pops, crackles in Sports Plus. Honestly that is loud enough. To me it sounds purer, more natural through the rev range. I think for people generally commenting, if you haven’t heard both versions yourself it’s hard to make a judgement. Watching a KZread clip doesn’t really do justice to how a car sounds in person

Where are you located? There are pretty heavy noise restrictions where Joe is that causes BMW to essentially neuter the sound on their cars where he is.

@@SeanZherdev I’m in the UK as well. So with my F82, I didn’t realise how loud these cars are until I actually got mine, even with the stock sports exhaust it is loud enough throughout the rev range, sounds amazing

Going to get slated for this but prefer the stock exhaust - sounds like a 10 year old M3 with a broom handle stuffed up the exhaust to break the back box so it sounds louder - it’s like when a car like this drives past and you think knob…

Love the video (and I don’t think you’re a knob Joe) but I’m afraid I have to agree with you Steve. Definitely not a fan of the sound or look compared with the stock option.

The exhaust sound went from boss to absolute beast mode. Glorious sound!

Sound is why we love combustion engines...look what happened to the F1 live experience in the hybrid era. Great Mod and......to companies like Milltek, we appreciate you :)

Miltek is underrated, this car has woken up in a modest way, what a beautiful exhaust, shoutty enough to bring out the M3 to the party,it should have sounded this way from the factory...niceone, Joe..

Another fantastic video Joe. When my dad had a Miltek system on his TT I really didn't pay a great deal of attention. He was raving on about it and I can see why now👍

Man now it sounds as good as it looks 💪 what a motor. Think you made the right call on the titanium suits it perfect

I must be getting old, but the stock exhaust sounds better.

I used to watch a lot of Doug DeMuro, but his stuff gets stale after a few videos. Keep up the great work. Also a question, I am looking at a IS500, I am not sure you guys will be getting it in UK, and the M3, manual, and I just cannot make up my mind. One is NA one is manual, and each of those things attract me. My question is this, how is the BMW reliability in your experience?😁

Am I the only one thinking the stock pipes look better and the sound doesn’t have enough tone, it’s just loud 🤢

Nice piece of kit, looks very good but, to me, only sounds marginally better. More noise, cracks and bangs, but still does not quite deliver the delicious metallic music we should get from a straight 6. Beyond the various exhaust filters imposed by regulations, there is a more fundamental issue with turbocharged engines which are the norm these days. They just sound rough. Interesting question below: does the manufacturer warranty still hold with this customised exhaust ? Insurance costs going up or not ? Keep up the good content Joe 👍

Not my cup of tea but that does not take away the quality of the craftmanship nor the gain in aesthetic. My opinion mate.

congrats on the exhaust but I don't like the sound try to get a valvetronic the sound is really something different. This is just louder and still sound like a vacuum cleaner

Had a Milltek exhaust on my V5 Golf years ago. Sounded amazing. Sad to think that from 2030 no new internal combustion engine cars will be sold in the UK and exhaust modifications and the firms that make them will slowly die off.

The design of the rear muffler is also part of the aerodynamic underfloor measures. Maybe it's not the prettiest but it does fill several functions in ways the Milltek system doesn't.

Great to see the system on the car and making it all work for you. Happy miles until the xDrive arrives and you can swap it to the new one. Next is coding out the interior sound and installing the LEIB Engineering CAN bus module allowing you to switch the exhaust valves via the button on the dashboard among many other features 👊👊👊👊

If cars could talk, this one was screaming something DIRTY with those phat pipes. Straight to the naughty step haha

I have a E46 M3 but I’m told I can’t have this standard exhaust fitted with a noise reducer (valve) inside because it is a 2006 model. Do you know different.

That rear end and that sound.. holy shit 🔥 👀 👏 👏 👏 Absolutely love this Joe.

Sounds good that joe. Makes it sound more like the S55 did. Absolutely love that M4 though. For me it just works better than the M3.

Doesn’t sound right to me. Sounds like it’s “farting” through the rev range from the outside. Not smooth through the revs. Hard pass…..try the Akra.

Sounds good great improvement , though it’s no match for my b7 rs4 with a valved milltek but nothing touches a naturally aspirated engine. years ago a friend had an e36 328i with just an induction kit and that was one of the nicest engines I’ve heard.

Joe, considering you've now removed your gpf,you may as well get a stage 1 or 2 flash.I'd highly recommend wrench studio's/protuning freaks.You'll easily have one of the fastest g80's in the country This system though is amazing to say the least

I think the pipes are too big - looks a bit stupid. Noise? Milltek always seem to get a great sound without being too 'offensive'. Had one of their systems on my TTRS (OPF) and it was spot on.
