Who on this blue earth needs drugs when there is fantastic music like this?? Takes me to another level right away.

No other instrumental brings me back to 1968 like this one. Then in 1992 the Swing Out Sister made lyrics with the song Am I The Same Girl to which I discovered that it was Barbara Acklin who sang it in 1968.

I loved this song as a pre-teen! I’m 67 now and still get on my feet and dance by my self when the drum hits the first beat! Bobbing head to the beat while driving! We need more rhythm like this!

In 1969, I had a band composed of Antilles High School students in Fort Buchanan, PR. We opened our prom with this song, thinking it would be an excellent icebreaker. The dance floor got jam-packed. The final request, you gussed it! The students and their parents put all the tables away and dance their hearts away! What a way to end the night!

Well I am in Germany, my neighbors like it, too.

SOulfult strut was one of the first records I purchased (well, I didn't actually pay for it as I was 9 years old, but one of the first where I made the decision to buy it). Alas, I no longer have the single, all of my records from the 60s (and some more recent ones) were lost/stolen by movers when I moved from NYC to LA in 1976 😢 At least I have the mp3 now

Perhaps the coolest jazz piece I've ever heard...the sax player is the ultimate hipster.

I heard this tune playing in my head 2 months ago. Could not remember the name of the song. So I called one of my sisters that taught me how to slow dance. I was 16 she was 15 and always kept up with the latest Groves back then . My sisters and I are all 71 70 and 69 yrs old and retired. Well my middle Could not remember so we called our youngest sister and she laughed at me. I put my phone down for two hrs and suddenly this song came across my feed . So now I'm sitting here listening to this bad Ass groove.
