thank you for your kind work.Makes me,63 year old blues beginner , very happy.
My tip for anyone wanting to really jam to this- first figure out how to play this track perfectly- right along with them. Knowing what chords are being played at any given time really allows you to tighten up your lead and make sure it all truly fits the track. Second- no noodling, stop noodling- stop it! LOL- I do it too man, we all do- but it must stop- no noodling! Find a melody- explore it, twist it, turn it, flip it- but stick with it until you feel you've explored it completely- then maybe start developing another idea- but don't noodle. I promise if you do just these two things- your soloing will improve massively- mine did. For beginners- think in short 3-5 note phrases. Don't try to build long legato lines that go on forever- I mean if you can, have at it but- most of us can't do that at first. So- build little short licks that end on the note of whatever chord is being played- if he's in D then your lick should resolve (end) on D. When you do this right, you'll feel it- it's like a piece of a puzzle clicking into place- it just sounds "right". Now does every lick have to end this way- no, not at all- but it's a good place to start- and generally speaking if you don't resolve to that note then it's because the lick is still expanding, it's not ready to resolve (end) yet. So, the longer the lick, the longer it takes before you resolve back to the note which brings it home and ties it to the track. This takes a sense of timing- and that's why I tell you to learn to play the backing track. That allows you to know the timing intimately and know what chords are played when- which allows you to build your licks properly.

This is killer advice. Wrapping up on a b7 and then slowly bending or sliding into the 1 right as the next measure begins works fantastically for stuff like this. This track is actually "Aint no Love in the Heart of the city"

As a newbie to soloing, this is great advice, and thank you for sharing. As my instructor says, take the dog for a walk and explore. Just make sure you both end back at home.
I jam with this track not with guitar but with harmonica

Try playing in 3rd position on G harp and 4th position on C harp. Adds to upper register.
I hadn't played bass in weeks, and then my brother asked me if I had been playing which I said no, and then I realized I needed to play so here I am. A thrilling tale.

I legit just put this on loop and pulled lead for at least a solid 2 and a half, 3 hours. This rythm touched my soul bro. This shit had me all the way in.....I appreciate you for this
Just started improv 2 weeks ago after 11 years of playing guitar, I practic scales 20 minutes and then jam for an hour and I love the feeling when the melody you have in head comes true. Still have everything to learn, but I'm having a great time on your backing tracks (I enjoy it a lot more than just reproducing tabs aha). Keep it up brother !

I'm in the park under a tree, with a harmonica, my harmonica and myself love this track!!!
So, I just got a new Les Paul and started jamming to this track. A few things: First of all, this track is amazing and very fun to play to. Thank you for making this. Second, with the sound of this backing track and my amp and guitar dialed in perfectly along with it, I felt like Stevie Ray Vaughan with how great everything sounded. I've been lacking something in my guitar-playing journey, and I believe playing along to tracks like this has helped me stay motivated as a guitarist and has helped me expand my musical vocabulary.

So true. You truly know what a guitar can do when you crank up a track like this, roll back the volume on your guitar a bit to start, and slowly get into it. You can be ripping the walls off the house by the end, or keep it mellow and just throw some notes at it. I'm so much better when I play to a track. I have a looper and a drum machine, but I'm too lazy to set up a jam.

@@sundaynightdrunk LOL- Me too man- why I bought the damn things I don't know; I never use them. It's a pain in the ass to have to set them up and get a jam track going- especially now when you can just dial one up as good as this and go for it. It would take me a long time to put something this good together- and tbh I don't know if I could- this is a really good track. I would've written some lyrics for it and kept it had I come up with it probably.
This was the first backing track I ever played on. I keep coming back to see how far I’ve gotten every few months. Super simple and patient chord progression so it’s very easy to just go off and do your own things with. I heavily recommend this track for beginners

Love this groove, I think of BB King's "The thrill is gone"
I have learned a lot practicing with backing tracks.i am 59.back in the day if you were not good enough to be first guitar in a band just forget it.since I could not afford a loop station for very long time, not a lot of practice.now just turn on the PC OR CELL PHONE AND VOILA.I AM JAMMING.THANKS BROTHER.
This is a great recording , thanks for sharing. It goes along to the songs I'm composing and writing. Thank you for Getting it in your heart and soul for hearing it. Have a great day. Tony Seago
love that Bm7flat5/e7aug variation/turnaround
Sounds great! I'm gonna jam to this with my Hohner Am pentatonic harp. HEADS UP HARMONICA PLAYERS
one of the best blues backing tracks out there
Thanks, I had a fantastic morning jam on this track,, Let's hear it for the band everyone :)
I cant thank you enough for all your amazing backing tracks. You make me a better musician. peace
Absolutely brilliant! Everything is perfect in these jam tracks. Thanks a lot!
Hey man I really enjoy your jams buddy... And you're an awesome guitar player to boot with great tone. Thanks heaps
Hey Tom! Great track! I know these things focus mostly on lead playing, but how about you add the chord shapes you use from now on (and maybe even a few more voicings if you feel like it) for us to also work on our rhythm shtuff? That would be awesome!
Just had my first acoustic guitar lesson this evening. Started with THE BLUES BOX when starting to play lead guitar. My teacher makes a backing track available in class; however, I love your piece better. Thanks!
I love playing to this track! Thank you for providing it for all of us.🤘
Wow ! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful track. I can’t stop jamming with it.
I think this is the song that keeps playing inside of me as I work all my life..... little does people know I got a built-in music box
Thank you for this brilliant track. I've come up with more combinations for solos with this track than I've done with any other backing track. As they say on Wall Street when someone hits it big: Way to go!!!
Nice one ~ great for phrasing and expression! I LOVE how you don't solo over it like so many do lately! 👍
Fantastic! I had a blast with this. Perfect.
Really nice! I could solo to this for hours...Thanks!!!
