Now this looks like fun! I wish I could leap through my screen and be there. This generation of humans is without a doubt the coolest generation, from music to fashion to culture in general. The fact that my generation thinks TikTok is something that could even come close to the magic of the music and dance of this era is equally laughable and frightening to me.

I remember watching this as a pre-teen in semi-rural Ontario. It was the moment that I realised that African American people were sooooo much cooler than the rest of us. Better dancers, better sense of fashion, all without trying, either. For a little kid from a small town in Ontario, Canada, this show was a cultural awakening. GOD, how I LOVED Soul Train! We were even lucky to have it, as there wasn't alot of television channels available to us at that point. Soul Train introduced me to music that I might not have otherwise had an opportunity to hear that often. Ahhhhh, the Halcyon Days of Yore....Saturdays spent down in our rec room, Soul Train on the television, my friend and I trying to move like the people on the screen.....all the while we looked like we were having some sort of seizure! Iam sorry to report that 40 years later, things haven't improved much in that department!!....

God bless you! As a fellow Canadian from the city of Edmonton in Alberta, born in ‘99, I can confirm I’ve had practically the exact same cultural awakening! I stumbled across a Soul Train video randomly just in March and have since become obsessed with their 1970s era specifically. So charming and so much fun! I can’t help but smile when I watch a video. I’ve always had a strong love for mid 20th century music and culture, the 70s being my favourite decade, and watching these clips just makes me even more in love! It also made me respect and love African American culture even more... So much soul and power! Gorgeous! Unfortunately for me, I was born way after this beautiful era ended... sigh! It’s so frustrating, especially compared to popular culture and music today, which I despise. Now I can only dream of being in the heart of it all... maybe LA in 1975, going out every weekend to dance and actually getting out there or something... yes, one day when they invent time travel! 😜 I wonder if art rooted in class and elegance, fun for everyone, will ever come back to us again.

This is brilliant in every way except for the lanky guy at the beginning in the jumpsuit looking like he's waggling his knob and the Chinese girl who's wafting her farts.

To the person comment: Your not kidding, the best days of my life, were the 70's! To this day, I and many people listen to the 70's, they just don't die! The important thing is that people back then, had fun. The attitudes were different, and yes, the people seemed to be a lot happier! I think of all the decades, and this new younger generation are some pretty spoiled and sad people! It's like they have no spirit! They think they know it all, and yet such a depressing generation. I truly believe that the new technology and medias have a lot to do with it! Today the cell phones, and all other devices have taken control of peoples minds and are becoming more selfish and unsociable people. It's sad to see a generation that has everything, being so sad.
