What I like about the Soul Calibur incarnation of Link is that it shows that Link isn't just a guy who simply strafes around holding up his shield while waiting to strike at the right time, it shows that he is a well capable fighter who can fight against skillful swordsmen and fighters. The Hero of Time is more than just courage.

The hero of time has nothing to fear of those muppets, he is the best swordsman, also, is any of them saved the world from an nearly immortal fiend called Ganon ? No, they don't, Soul Edge is a joke compare to, it can be defeated by any sword, any weapon, no need to be legendary or blessed. Ganon can only be defeated by the Master Sword.

Ironically in an actual swordfight hiding behind your shield is basically what youll be doing for the entire duration.You an your opponent just prod at each other waiting for an opening. After all why wouldnt you?

2022 and I’m STILL mind blown that Link was really in this game, His move set was so nintendo and he had the best voice acting. Links biggest feature.

Seriously seeing Link twist people's arms like that is truly badass. Hope we get a new Soul Calibur on the Switch so we can possibly see Link return as a guest fighter!

The person playing kind of sux. Link has a plethora of moves in his arsenal this player is just using the same handful of moves. Still fun to watch overall

I like to consider this canon for the Hero of Time. Sometime after Majoras Mask Link, grown up for real, is called by the master sword to find soul edge.

Bought this game just for Link. It ended up becoming one of my favorite fighting games ever made.

This game felt more like a Zelda spin off game to me since I used to main Link.

Link was just happy to help. That basically summarizes the ending of Arcade mode I presume in this universe Ganon is dead (for now) so when Link went out to go find a new Adventure he found this tournament of Swordsman and thought "finally. a new challenge for me to test my skills" and he ended up saving the world in the process

Not dead, but sealed. Given this is Adult Link, taken place after defeating Ganon and its the Hero of Time. Where exactly it took place is beyond me. Its non canon so it didnt matter much.

They need to bring Link back to a Switch version of Soul Calibur. Bandai Namco and Nintendo are like best friends by co developing Smash, Pokemon Snap, and other Nintendo games.

If this were canon to the LOZ timeline I imagine it would fit right after link defeats ganon in the adult timeline and is praised as a hero in hyrule

Another world he will go unthanked for saving.

The last battle just looks like the original battle field from Ocarina of Time minus Ganon!

This shit was dope when it happened, I think Iwata (or Miyamoto) at the time when it came out told Namco, "Link must win if he's to be in the game" which is why he's super OP, I remember this reveal leaked early in gaming forums which made Sony and Microsoft FURIOUS they later gave them Spawn and Heihachi as their exclusives late in development. I'll never know why 3 was PS2 exclusive, all I know is that it wouldve been cool to see another Nintendo rep in a future title (Maybe a Fire Emblem rep) , but it never happened as the series director left Namco after Soul Calibur 6.

Inferno seems to be one of Gannondorf's siblings.

Link's ending is fuckin amazing especially with the great music, that shit almost makes me cry. Perfect.

Namco and Nintendo should've made an exclusive Zelda game together with every SCII character as bosses. So it can be a bonus feature to Soul Calibur II.

It's funny that Yoshimitsu, Link and Nightmare all had the same voice...or at least Nightmare and Link did. Lol

You know Link's fight against Ghirahim would have been a lot easier if Link could actually fight like this. Instead of trying to guess which way he was holding his hand....

Melanie Whitt Link was the guest character in Soul Calibur 2 for the Gamecube only. Xbox and PS2 had their own guest characters but Link was Gamecube only.

I first discovered this game back in 2013, around Easter actually. By far, one of coolest, most badass fighting games I have ever had the privilege of playing. God, I wish my Gamecube was working again.

I think the game looks good enough to not need a remaster. Just port the game and upscale it to HD like an emulator would.

i can't count how many times i played this game. still one of my best childhood games.

The Hero of Time who possesses the Triforce of Courage will fearlessly face Inferno in a hellish looking arena. So yes, its very fitting.

In hindsight, it would have been amazing if they were able to add Ganondorf with his sword as well.

With Bandai Namco developing Smash Ultimate, maybe Nintendo could contract the SoulCalibur team to make a true Legend of Zelda fighting game.

Would have been funny if one of LInk's opening lines was "Well, excUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, princess"

Nightmare's death cry sounds a lot like Link's if you listen carefully.

I never got to play this but I would legit buy it specifically to play as Link. I also heard he's the best character out of all three versions.

I just bought Link's Soul Edge in Soulcalibur 2 and it is awesome. Soul Edge inflicts some serious damage. I just played the Extra Arcade mode as Link wielding Soul Edge and went through the whole Extra Arcade mode undefeated. I think Soul Edge is well worth the price of a bit of health.

I remember beatin all 70+ missions woth link. A difficult task esp the very hard missions but link was godly in this game

Last night, I was thinking it'd be cool if the SC series could come up with a new concept. I was thinking Stone Blade. On the Edge Master mode, you collect Storm Stones each with the ability to give your sword the power to use an element dependant on the weather, for example, lightning abilities through a thunderstorm. Once you collect all Storm Stones, you can change the weather and use the elements as you please. The Soul Edge and Soul Calibur will still be in the game. Also in arcade mode, the final boss will have all Storm Stones and use them against you.

Ironically I want Link, Pit and Chrom in, but I'd be fine with any sword wielding FE character.

The fact that they took out the ability to make sound effects before a match kills me the fact that nintendo didn't get a 're release also baffles me I miss this game I played this for hours on in

When I first played 2 and saw Inferno with Soul Calibur, I thought he was imprisoning it so its power can't be used against him. But now that I know the true origin of the 'Holy Sword', I think he was trying to become complete once again, but the now opposite power wasn't melding well with it and actually did more harm than good.
