Unfortunately, Kim's loss was due to poor planning on her part. Kim skated basically a perfect low-risk program, while Sotnikova performed a far more difficult program with less grace and one big mistake. But, since 2006, high-risk programs were heavily favored by the scoring system, and judges had less discretion to use a score like artistry to mitigate the scoring system's preference for difficulty.

I still can't believe she actually waved to the judges... and then hugged one of them afterwards...

Sotnikova just said in an interview that her A samples tested positive for doping, but the IOC protected her and her B samples were "magically" not positive. Basically just admitted the Olympic committee and IOC helped cover up her positive doping. They literally did everything they could to drag her onto that first place podium.

Errr, that’s not what she said)) She never said IOC protected her and made the sample B (not samples) negative. But in fact, sample A was never positive in the first place, it was scratched and therefore considered compromised. So sample B was opened and she proved clean. Why Adelina called her A sample positive is now beyond understanding and she’s gotten herself in a huge scandal… but that’s on her now.

She already bagged her gold in 2010 thankfully and her legend only grew from 2014 as people appreciated her performance even more due to the robbery. 몇년이 지나고 모든 분노와 빡침 사적인 감정을 내려놓고 다시 돌려봤다. 확실히 힘있는 스케이팅이었고 파워풀하면서도 물흐르듯 잘 진행한 편의 프로그램이었음. 그러나 클린프로그램은 아니었고 점프도 아쉬운 점이 보였으며, 관객호응유도는 우승할만한 프로그램의 요소가 아니었음. 몇번을 다시봐도 우승은아님.

Kim Yuna is an Olympic Champion, she won in 2010 yet she skated until 2014 despite already having an Olympics title. She competed in GP, Worlds and all. However, Sotnikova, after winning the 2014 Olympics, did not skate anymore. Have you seen her compete after? She only skated in Russia and landed 6th place, after then she did not compete anymore. However, like Adelina, there are also some Olympic champions that did not compete for their supposed to be next Olympic. Yuna Kim was not triggered, in fact, she said, the most important thing in figure skating is to connect with the people, the color of the medal will only come after it. Yuna, despite having injuries after 2010 Olympic title, competed in 2011-2014 even the 2014 Olympics. You've got to give the girl credit, and to other skaters like Yuzuru Hanyu that are still competing despite having injuries.

Как раз таки невиновность Сотниковой подтвердил Родченков. Девушка невероятно глупа, делать заяления о допинге, видимо, слава Валиевой покоя не дает. Но на самом деле весь ее "допинг" - поцарапаная проба А. Вторая проба была в норме, и не показала наличия допинга. Сотникову оправдали в 2017 году, и пусть было бы очень смешно, если бы ее медаль забрали, этого не произойдет

Marika fasola I doubt that she will ever get her second gold. The corruption is too deep. Yuna knew that herself; she said that her opinion or stance on the scandal wouldn't change the results. It's just a pity that she was treated this way at her last Olympics. It's unfathomable how Russia doesn't recognize how lucky they are to see her perform competitively for the last time. I would do anything to see her skate just once. And they were blessed with three of her performances. I wonder how much was the ISU paid to help Russia win their first "gold" in ladies figure skating.

it's got 3m less now and almost 20k dislikes XD this performance definitely didn't deserve the gold like wth, she full on stumbled. sure she did a lot of jumps but none of them were as beautiful as yuna's jumps. i hope she gets tested positive for drug use and is forced to give her gold to yuna >_>

ㅇㅇ 근데 원래 율리아 그년도 빙판뽀뽀 파티인데 여지없이 쇼트에서 빙판뽀뽀 시전 걍 플립에서 도약할때부터 기울어져서 좆같은 연기를 선보임 근데 롱엣지 러츠 안걸리고 가산점 1.6인가 챙겨감 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 김연아가 1.8이였는데 ㄹㅇ 좆같은 소치였음.. 결국 그년 점수 퍼받아서 200점 넘김 아델리나 이년은 ㄹㅇ 말할거도없지 ㅋㅋㅋ 공중자세 좆같, 프리로테 언더로테 파티, 롱엣지의 여왕 걍 븅신인데 쇼트에서 율리아년 다음이라서 점수퍼받고 프리에서도 퍼받아서 224...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Yuna - spoilt girl like many South Korean "bitter losers". Instead of often appearing in TV shows Yuna could work on increasing the technical level of her programme. She had a large initial disadvantage, which increased when Adelina performed three +10% elements in the second half of her programme.

True. Her technical elements were pretty impressive but the performance scores were definitely inflated. I agree she deserved bronze, but not gold like she got. Especially not with an almost record breaking score. She's a skater with amazing technical elements but when I watch her, I feel nothing. Yuna Kim had so much emotion in her skates and so did Carolina. Coming back to watch these, I constantly pick apart what's wrong and then I always ask "why did she get such a high score? "

+Ally Reilly She actually received 9.75 PCS marks for this program... 9.75!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's an absolute joke and an insult to the skater's who deserved a fairly scored competition that night. This competition is probably the most flawed and unforgivable competition since the new judging system has been put into place. It still disappoints me to this day...

I don’t watch much ice skating. I actually really enjoyed this performance. Felt energetic and powerful. But I do see the comparisons to Yuna, who was so sophisticated, elegant and accurate. I preferred Ms Yuna’s, but this was still rather enjoyable. That being said, I’m not sure how Yuna scored less

Oh! so this was one of the issues some of my friends were talking about back then. Truly, Yuna Kim will always be the true champion here.

shaming myself? jajaja only because I say the truth? Adelina did two foot landing in the double loop but she completed it, a skater don´t lose a lot of points if she/he completes the jump, you must learn some skating rules, I'm not a fan of Adelina but that is the truth

Yuna's performance was lovely, she moved like the wind and I felt moved. I don't feel this here. She's stiff compared to Yuna, and her jumps don't match the song at all, and furthermore during the most upbright part of the music she couldn't keep up with it, it seemed out of pace consequently.

Poor Sotinikova... if she got Bronze (with her actual scores), many people would cheer for her that she did great... unfortunately, corrupted judges gave her Gold and it is like a poison for her as people will remember Sotnikova as a skater who got gold medal in her own country from corrupted judges... Shame. Judges spoiled not only figure skating but also a young Russian girl..

Poor ignorant girl, she had potential. If only the score was fair, judges and player(Sotnikova) was clear and honest, she could still do ice skating. Now she's just disappeared.

I am a Korean and I always admire Yuna's artistry and her performance but I also like to see other players from different nationality. The spectators should really become as mature as that. Don't look at the fig hoolidiots commenting like nuts, they're seriously all semi-psychos and a lot of them will give you sheet of rubbish like mentally charged.

Kim wasn't clean and honestly She had no emotion, but she was better then adelina for sure, however adelina's spins was so great and beautiful , but yes, her jump had issues and she was overrscored , it was very obvious home advantage . also carolina and mao was better then her, but i like adelina's performance too, she was so happy and i enjoy it. Sorry for my bad English😅😅
