Edvard Munch’s pursuit of emotional truth changed art forever. In the first of the Sotheby’s Talks this spring, entitled Breathe and Feel, Suffer and Love, artist Tracey Emin and Sotheby’s Simon Shaw explore how women shaped this quest, at a time when relations between the sexes were changing radically. They ask why Munch’s questions are more compelling than ever today.

I went to the munch emin show at the RA and gave a review of the catalogue on amazon. My 1 star review was removed as well as all other negative reviews! I guess her full time lawyers she employs managed to wangle it based on their 'hate speech' policy. Ive lost all interest in tracey emin and think she should be working in a marketing company instead

Something tells me this comment won't last long either. Funny they put these artists together in the same show. The only connection I see between the two is, as far as famous artists go, Munch is one of the best, and Emin, one of the worst. Perhaps that was the point? I'm guessing not...

@@oldgrannywheels Totally agree... she is a boo hoo gimmick. I went to the recent munch show at the d'orsay .... stunning artist. Emin is standing on the shoulders of a giant for her own promo. Let's see if these comments get 'managed'
