100%. Backdated bans only work when you haven't fought whereas he's fought twice in hotel ballrooms getting paid. The whole incentive behind backdated bans & suspensions is you can't fight thus are incentivised to cooperate & get it resolved asap. Also why 4 year bans go down to 2 years for cooperation like Amir Khan, Strong case for full 4 year ban for Benn.

I’ve been involved in addiction recovery world for 28 years. Was a huge fan of Connor. Everything about his response/his interviews since it happened I’ve seen have left me thinking he should be banned and as I feel with all failed tests in boxing as a fan for over 30 years, it should be indefinite. It’s way to dangerous even for accidental consumption and more care needs to be taken.

benn should be banned aswell as his trainer and hearn

He needs to serve a minimum of a 2 year ban (maybe 4), to start when the board make it official. That will teach boxers not to face up to these sort of things as soon as they are informed.

Shows you how corrupt the sport is when no one knows the process lol

If he serves a backdated ban what’s the point he’s already fought twice. They need to make a statement and stick him with a 4 year even that’s too soft. People can die in the ring

The easiest solution is for Matchroom to stop doing the additional testing with VADA go to just the minimum UKAD testing like BOXXER which their fighters have revealed as no tests .. Mayer, Smith, Eubank etc .. if you don't so the test you can't fail them .. Ben S has something right for once no testing

Didn't realise Catterall was in charge of Drug monitoring. Fury got away with a backdated ban. That was wrong. But it set a precedent. I agree there needs to be a process. But that will never happen until you have 1 body and 1 set of rules worldwide.

I'm not educated in this area, but could the testing protocol be resulting in false positives? Or is doping really that rife in boxing

As someone who’s worked in the addiction recovery field for nearly 3 decades, and watching interviews with different fighters etc, I think it’s become rife as it’s too easy to get away with it. It’s how active addiction works………

He failed 2 different tests. There's a reason we have B samples in boxing which 99.9% of the time return the same results to confirm there were no false positives or laboraitry issues. He's a cheat. Yes there's deffo more cheating in boxing but if we can't hold the few guys who fail tests to account then we're truly f'ed. Also to fail a test you've deffo taken a lot more or messed up. It's still rare to even fail these tests or false positives as shown by most who pass so it's not a wider issue re boxers falling victim to errors

Any fighter/ boxer must receive a life ban, no questions asked. Unless they can prove, or should I say an independent investigation can prove their innocence. Be that a tainted sample, a coach found to be dosing a fighter without their knowledge, or a substance being taken into the body without the fighters knowledge. Through food or drink. I will say they should be more educated if that happens. A life ban is the only way the clean the sport up. Ex boxers are right, this will cost a life or serious damage to somebody at some point.

Boxing is so far behind the UFC (not MMA in general) Drug test failures happen so regularly and are so regularly proven to be accidental or generally not malicious that drug test failures are confidential until proven to be deliberate Everyone needs to stop trying to get involved in drug test failures, let the legal body do its job

He's a cheat but he didn't fail 2 tests, it was 1 test but both samples from that same test. It was Garcia who failed 2 tests, one from weigh in day and one from post fight. He also tested positive for nandrolone in both of those tests, not just osterine. It's the b samples from both tests that are currently being checked.
