Actually it's completely untrue that we never discovered the South Pole until 100 years ago or whatever you said the South Pole was inhabited before the pole shifted and it became the pole under the ice is tons of archaeological artifacts.

The problem with what people consider as life is based off of human life which is surface-dwelling and surface-dwelling life is extremely rare but if a planet has a hot core and is located near a star system or a sun then there is a butter Zone in all of these planets where life can live underneath the surface of the planet...

Unidentified flying objects are very common. And I guess if Navy pilots are seeing them, radar have mapped them, and thousands of people have seen them at the same time then, well, maybe there's something there...

Far more likely to be of natural or human origins, methinks. Could also be a cryptid lifeform. Heck, even the "interdimensional" idea or the "time traveler" idea feel more plausible than ET.

@@samuelemeryjiujitsu Yes, they are. Witnessing something is the very first step of the scientific method. If you're unable to first witness an unusual phenomenon, you can't realize it warrants subsequent study.

Many pilots , military personnel, and other authority figures have claimed seeing things.

If the universe is spatially infinite, then there must be life out there somewhere, though it likely is very far away. I read a book many years ago called Probability One, by Amir D. Aczel, that discussed this topic. It was an interesting read.

I think there's a bit of perfectionism coming out of Brian in this clip - believing and deciding to argue against the "it's a waste of space" statement thinking it was actually meant to be put forward as an argument point; no one reasonable would consider that to hold any weight to an argument. Ironically then it sounds like to me near the halfway mark he starts to use a "uniform argument" as a counterpoint to claim that Mars should also have life because it's so close.. My brain hurts. Am I misunderstanding?

It's been 8 months not a damn thing. Grusch got his 15 minutes . These people like Grusch need to put up or shut up, no more "I'm not able to talk about this or that.." , when clearly the whole point of being on the world stage is to f#@$%ing talk about it all!

You can't "why" life. You can "how", but you can't ask why. Asking why leads to an infinity of kicking the problem down the road. As an example.. why life? "God". Why "God"? "God". Ad infinitum. No matter how you approach "why", it will always lead to an entity that did something for some reason that is entirely unknowable because it exists outside of the confines of our measured reality. Even if that is the real answer, we can't know the mind of something that is beyond the scope of our own universe. It may be possible to answer in the future. But for now.. why doesn't work. How is easy.. we can measure the forces and how they interact to create things. Can't measure why. And the answer is no evidence at all for advanced alien life. Anywhere. My personal belief is 1 human-like species per 13 billion years per galactic supercluster. Sure they may be out there, but so far away in space and time as not to even ever enter our zone of contact. Ergo we are alone, even if we are surrounded.

Dr. Keating must be playing devil's advocate, since the size of our solar system is hardly comparable to the size of the observable universe, which contains billions of other galaxies, and trillions of other solar systems. The chance that, not just Life, but Intelligent Life, has evolved on at least ONE planet, is a far better gamble than saying it hasn't, just because Mars lost it's atmosphere LOL !!

Interrupting your guest with stupid cutesy questions is extremely bad form.

Yeah it seems as if in today's world they've forgotten about bullshitters. Back in my day there was always 1 or 2 guys at work, maybe a neighbor who would literally bullshit about everything. You know maybe they were a vet, even though they were only 17 in 1976, they've killed guys with their bare hands, they dated actresses, and they've even seen a real life UFO swear to God, they wouldn't make this stuff! Why would they make this up they're not making money!! Yeah I get the feeling he's one of those guys.

Why would you state that alien life doesn't exist? We've observed only a tiny portion of an infinite universe. At this point, given how little we've observed, to assume alien life simply doesn't exist is foolish. We don't know enough to make either claim.

To me , it is like the creator attempted to create life on Mars, and Venus but failed and the Earth was the success. There is a template for all life on this planet bound by the physical rules of this universe. The Creator is either a scientist or a computer programmer.
