i recruited this summer at texas, was super long but it was really fun. it was cool to see it the other way around verse going through recruitment

I definitely think you have a chance! As long as you have a positive mind set and have references/recommendations for each house (that is, if you come to ole miss!) then you should be just fine! :)

this is so weird to me because i was in a sorority at a liberal city school (in Washington D.C.) and we had townhouses, not proper houses, and our pref night outfits were knee-length black dresses with black heels. also our bid day was like going bowling downtown. we definitely weren't as traditional like more state/southern schools lol

Yes we have class that week! Rounds start at 4 during the week and go pretty late so it’s pretty much class and then immediately recruitment! It’s a hectic week, I’m jealous of people with normal recruitment schedules 😂

Out of curiosity, why are yall "in the background" this year? Or like why did you say "we're phi mu's so it could be worse?" Not judging at ALL but i'm a DG and i'm curious how ole miss does recruitment especially because my chapter was technically founded there!

We were more in the background as we have pledge classes of ~130 and each round about 150 girls come to the house so our younger girls meet the potential new members while us the juniors and seniors help a bit more behind the scenes during rounds! :) and as for the other statement - we don’t have as much stress since we went through the process already and are in a house so even though it’s nerve wracking meeting the new girls at the end of the day we did it once too and made it out just fine! Freshman year is hard and going through recruitment while dealing with adjusting to college life was tough so the fact that we are already settled in college and in our house helped us be less stressed! Also PS dg is our neighbor on sorority row here they just got a new house and it’s beautiful!! Also we regularly drive by the spot in oxford where DG was founded, there’s a sign marking the location its really cool!

Lindy Goodson So cool!!! Our recruitments seem very similar as well. I am also a house girl at JMU (or I was this past year) and our house is NOTHING like ole miss houses. Still super cool to see your recruitment process! It is a little reversed here as our juniors/seniors do more recruiting than the most recent pledge class because they have more experience. But i’m super excited to see how recruitment looks from the other side bc im going to be a rho gamma (recruitment counselor) this recruitment season!

Yeah and that’s why I was hesitated on posting it - but I thought it was entertaining nonetheless! We can’t record most of rush but I had these clips from the fall & wanted to share.
