I’m gonna buy reserve list cards sometimes but all my money that would go to modern mtg is going to be going into this game and a splash of fab. I love the real artwork and that there is only going to be 1 or 2 releases a year with sorcery. I’m pretty sure I’ve found a game I love to collect.

I love the Artwork its not censored in any way to appeal to the crazy people, Im sold.

Man the art on these cards is great they remind me of the old MTG art and some look like paintings you could have on your wall, and the foiling looks nice too and the mechanics look interesting.

I recognize some of the artists. I believe they are all hand painted and it is Sorcery's selling point.

The game is very fun and the art is amazing. Like any tcg gameplay at first while your learning is slow. It definitely speeds up one the basic rules and interactions have been gotten used to. Gameplay feels like edh and constructed mixed and where you play your lands on the board matters. The precons are a great way to learn the game. They are also working in 4 player gameplay.

Simply love the foil dragon you pulled ;-) And it was a great video, like the slow " I have enought time to show you the cards " Thanks so much Sir.

Woahh that East-West Dragon is phenomenal; both in art and its mechanic!!! This tcg is one of the greatest projects of all time for collectors and players!!

Thanks for the excellent video and for taking your time going through the cards. I backed this game last year on the Art alone. A TCG of this quality could not have come out at a better time. Can’t wait for my boxes to arrive!

The card description mechanic takes like one fifth of the card, it must be simple but at first glance. First impression looks to easy, like paper rock scissors😂

I like how theres no borders shrinking or hiding parts of the art

Wait you are saying you can have foils that aren't pringels? What sorcery is this? :P I like that all cards are full art. Not sure if I like the other back on foil cards though. On the other hand, I haven't played a TCG-game unsleeved in years. Overall I like the vibe from this game and it was nice to see what is in the Alpha set.

Just a heads up ye ole Sorcerer....the word 'ordinary' name in the title box indicate the card is a common card in the pack and also indicates that only 4 copies of the card can be in your deck. The other key words are 'exceptional' (3 per deck-unc), 'elite' (2-rare), and 'unique' (1-mythic)

Intro was fire hahaha, I'll probably buy a few packs and sit on em, few to open for the binder because the art is amazing. I sincerely hope it gets huge just at the least to make wotc lose some market share and squirm

The alpha kickstarter is done but they are doing a much wider beta release that is still ongoing and available! Sorcery should end up available in LGSs as well

As an Aussie, I gotta help out our cousins from across the straight, was just a number I didn't get in on the Alpha, has anyone got a direct Beta link, everyone I found were US third parties?

They'll be distributed in NZ for retail (we'll be getting some 😊) , so I'm sure Aussie will be getting looked after too for beta distribution. Hope you enjoy it when you get yours.

I'm a tad confused. The rulebook states, "Your Atlas must contain at least 20 site cards" and, "Your Spellbook must contain at least 40 spell cards" yet the website claims, "'The Four Elements' preconstructed set contains four 53-card ready-to-play decks." making them actually illegal decks. Nice.

Stoked to see some light shined on Sorcery:Contested Realms. Just curious if this means Backer boxes & kits are finally making it out? Just trying to patiently wait after gettin in on 1 booster box & the preconstruct elemental decks but paying $400 in March 2022 expecting in September 2022 to still have no shipping confirmation before May 2023 was a bit stressful & worrisome. However if they are paying Purp to do a sponsor video i'm going to assume they are getting the kits out to stores 1st & hopefully followed by backers... Cmon Sorcery keep your backers updated, we've been supporting while staying patient awaiting shipping & release but I shouldnt be finding out the product i backed is Officially Out through youtube content creators even if i like em ;p

The product isn't out yet, it's on container ships from Asia, per the last Kickstarter update. The product won't be in stores until the fall, though the alpha boxes should get to us in the next month or so. They sent out boxes via airmail to content creators.

Alpha set is very round on corners. If they make beta less round on corners, that would be awesome for sure. I do believe this will surpass mtg and within a month. KS will be about $800-$1k a box. But that's just my prediction.

I don't know if anything could ever overtake the beautiful system that is the Color Pie. Edit: I must say though that this does look awesome. Also, where it says "banish all dead minions" I believe that's like exiling all creatures cards from graveyards, not destroying undead minions.

So what are your thoughts on being able to play this game remotely? Since it shares a playmat as the board, it pretty much limits it to in person games? How about the rarity of the cards? Is it displayed/indicated anywhere on it?

The game has a pretty big presence on Table Top simulator, so you could play with all the cards on there.

As I said elsewhere, what got me into collecting and then playing TCG's was Magic Artwork, plain simple and to the point, nowadays MTG art is too much noisy and much info in a small rectangle. This Sorcery game seems to me it's on point in the Art section. Perfect.

Yeah. I grew up around Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh (that friends and I played) and when I first saw Magic cards (around Time Spiral), the artwork just blew me away. They don't have to be cartoon drawings??

This game's artwork, card stock alone is going to crush MTG. I am definitely going to look into this game.

So, does the game cap the number of Units you can have on a space? My gut says it would get kind of cluttered to have so much stacked on top of each other. It's something MTG avoids because you can just spread your board out as you please. But the board matters with Sorcery. I did buy Beta because I'm willing to try anything once. Though I am disappointed the playmats weren't available in the Beta orders.

Talk to your local game store. Beta boxes should be wildly available in a few months if you missed the kickstarter.

Ordered a beta box. Alpha was way to expensive for me to pay without playing it first.

Amazing style and flavor. You can even almost roleplay it’s so good. I really do not like the cartoony digital art of current mtg cards this is incredible. I don’t play paper tcg anymore but I am really happy for everyone who gets this. Why the way the relic that allows you to control random outcomes, works perfectly with the golem that eats random things. You pulled the golem, the relic and the muzzle, pretty coincidental.

So is the Alpha edition sold out but Beta edition is in pre order?

I like the logo, it’s old-school and that makes it stand out. The same can be said for the art style, the font etc. - I hope Sorcery gets a foothold. Also gonna have to be honest the name is fun and not nauseating like Flesh & Blood. I respect the idea behind that name tremendously but it always turned me off.

the problem with this is even with the state of mtg today, the game still has a large fan base willing to shell out cash for it, a new game without an already exsisting massive fanbase really isnt going to do the trick, I have not met one mtg player in real life that actually knows about the sorcery tcg, I really don't think there is enough offline hype for this game to do much to mtg

Very good point, but give it time. All great things started off small before they became big.

I've got a few boxes coming in but my worry is finding anybody to actually play with.

The art is great but I'm not sure if I like the cards overall visual design. The font is not very easy to read, for one, and every card being "full art" or borderless kind of creates a bit of chaos if all the cards are placed together on a table or in hand.

How can we make MTG more popular in south America? i wonder how a free game on older phones with all the cards unlocked or something like that.

I don't know to be honest. Despite all odds in Poland it's the MTG that has the biggest popularity. YGO doesn't even have a major scene in bigger cities and a lot of big game shops don't even supply YGO products and Pokemon is often way too steep and pricey to comfortably even consider starting it -- it doesn't have formats like EDH that wouldn't rotate legality of cards. The main reason why neither Pokemon nor YGO is popular is lack of the local singles market beyond CardMarket which has a very expensive shipping for Polish realities, with MTGSpot being one of three major and cheap sources to get MTG cards for no shipping costs as they ship to game shops. Unless our Polish game shops acknowledge existence of Sorcery TCG and release it as an easily available product, it's dead to us Poles and we cannot really bother to pay expensive international fees with import taxes on top of them just to play it.

Sooo, are we going to see the "saucy sorcery historian" for this product? 😂😂

Nah. Hype is gone from all of the KZreadr openings before I even have tracking, at least for me. Seen all the cards, no more surprises or excitement. Waaaay more excited for my two lotr MTG bundles coming soon. Magic is way more fun to play and sorcery is a niche boardgame with art like old school MtG. I just bought a portal starter set and like that art just as much.

I will reiterate what i have mentioned before on the Sorcery community. Game is a massive Collector Circlejerk atm, and it seems like the ACTUAL GAME and people who want to dive deep is plan B. Once they Announce Organized play and support for the players that want to have some form of competitive play, I truly will believe its a contender for top TCGs. currently, its just people pretending the game is Alpha magic and essentially speculating on sample cards and all that bs. Remember folks, alpha magic is worth what its worth because Mtg stood the test of time and provided us a amazing experience while also catering to a massive Competitive Organized play system. Sorcery has to earn that shit. Dont fall for the ridiculous prices because the game has great art. That being said, Game is really fun and has a ton of depth. Patiently waiting for beta.

Speaking of alternatives to Magic the Gallery, any people in the comments happen to know of a digital online card game type thing that is actually good to play and doesn't try to harvest your dollars with its cash shop? I would very much prefer also having a solid user interface.
