Brilliant, certainly...But there was a lot of mysticism and Crowley themes in the early 70s from which this music is heavily inspired...

best way to describe this band, imagine if Peter green of Fleetwood mac kept his marbles, and all the later people who made Fleetwood Mac joined, in, Stevie, Christine, Lindsay, etc

Honestly, I personallyprefer Church of the Cosmic Skull over Fleetwood Mac (this is Ed). Of course, I've never been a huge Fleetwood Mac fan in the first place. Don't hate them, but I like Church more :-)

This band has the best harmonies since Queen, yeah I said it.

Church of the Cosmic Skull has become one of my favorite bands (this is Ed speaking) so I agree with you :-)

They are totally tongue and cheek, but brilliant. On their KZread there's a mockumentary where one of their members (the chick who plays the cello) disappears and it's implied she miss-stepped and suffered the wrath of the leader. I'm pretty sure she's fine and just left the band. Black Slug is frickin' amazing! Very heavy on the Sabbath. Some of their songs on their previous albums even have a Roky Erickson vibe. Just a solid band! (Lyrics sometimes a bit repetitive, but that's part of the fun, isn't it?) I think the song "Science Fiction" and "From within the Mountain Heart" are close to my favorites. But I enjoy them all. Nice to have some albums where you don't feel the need to get up and skip a song (they also have vinyl...which is awesome!)

Well, Amy left the band. It is written on their website under "members", right at the top. If I remember right, she was with child and the new violin guy is announced to be the drummer's brother. This part of the website was quite down to earth.

Their shtick is bloody brilliant! I just wandered about in their website and it was a pretty fun layout. I also watched a couple more of their videos and found them both quite good. At first, it seemed like the songs could turn out a bit trite, but I was wrong -- they sucked me right in. They are well written and the musicians are all quite good. This band is a find -- and as you found them for me, I tip my hat to you and offer thanks! Great stuff! Keep up the good work you guys are doing, and I won't hesitate to click on oddball looking vids from you guys from here on lol.

So glad you liked it! I've listened to a few more songs of theirs and they are brilliant! Their schtick is very cool and their music is top notch

ELO with Polyphonic Spree and a skull.

So earlier this morning I watched that recent horror thriller flick "Midsommar" and this band certainly looks like it could have easily fit amongst its creepy cult of characters!! Musically I dig the sound a lot and their musicianship is fantastic and completely excellent, however, not really compelled by or overly-interested in their back story or the like. Yeah, One thing's for certain, far more satisfying than that crap fourth "Indiana Jones Crystal Skull" crap...Bloody Mutt Williams!! P.S., Doug, loved your "Barry Gibb holding a Flying V" comment!

Check out "Into The Skull" from the same album - wow!

Psychedelic ,progression, garage rock...Also, think Spinal Tap.

I like them.. they are different.. also The measures and bars are and some of the skills of the guy uses is unorthodox. At first they appear crappy but when you hear it as a whole there’s a lot going on. They’ve got some ghost notes in there it seems like. I like it.

I think it’s awesome! They have a couple great tunes that went right to playlist

Ok. That was interesting. I'm still trying to process this. 🤔

Give it another shot, maybe listen to their other stuff. They really have grown on me and I totally dig it!

The Church of the Cosmic Skull is an amazing band! I listen to their albums in heavy rotation and I can't get enough. I read a comment about them once that I thought was perfect. It was "they put the ABBA in Black Sabbath." 🌈🤘🌈

The church actually reached out to us and said they really enjoyed our reaction video to their tune Sorcery and Sabotage. It's very likely we'll do another video on them, we definitely enjoyed what they had to offer.🤘

Best new band ever!

Nice reaction. "Evil in your eye" hands down best song of thiers. Looking through your catalog I'm suprised you haven't reacted to the band Rival Sons yet. You may want to get on that, you wont be disappointed.

They're great. Songs are super cool, I love the cult act, I love the 70's vibe and visual effects and everything. Most importantly, they have their sound. That's what is sorely lacking these days.

Defiantly not tongue n cheek or an act. Black Slug is amazing too. Darker song

If you want to know what they think of religion listen to "Science Fiction". They literally lampoon Scientology.
