Sorcery has completely shifted my focus from MTG. Beautiful art, the gameplay is fantastic, Full art backs on the foils, CURIOS, Dust rewards, I could go on and on. The best thing about it is how fun it is to open, though. Takes me back to the early days of MTG. All the haters are gonna regret missing out...

You are right on all of this. But, this game is going to die so fast that's sad. I really hope it would not, but in order to stay healthy, this game should be accesible and played. Outside of the US, prices are insane and no stores run tourneys or see players

It does not compare to MTG at all, Sorcery is almost fully driven by collectors, not players. More comparable to Weiss for adults or even Metazoo but with good art

@@6seph9 Not at all the case, anyone can go watch the online streams of LGS held tournaments. Players are legit excited to be part of the community, to host/be part of events, and awaiting the next set because it is actually an amazing game. One that is back by development experience and people who actually enjoy TCGs. Which is more than I can say for corporatized 30-old MTG. Modern games focused on sound development such as FAB and Sorcery are far more balance/polished/fulfilling gaming experience than MTG can ever be and that is just a fact... unless magic can rehaul it's foundational outdatedly flawed mechanics.

Art is incredible and non digital, gameplay is phenomenal with brilliant game designers at the helm, and I haven’t had this much fun cracking packs in a very long time. Absolutely addicting. Stoked for Arthurian Legends

@@MicDropFacts It is a possibility one day they go digital even with claims of not doing so, but until then it is fun to enjoy the "old magic" feel. It is cool, at least to me, to own mtg beta Melissa Benson Fire Elemental, and now sorcery beta melissa benson cards. I would argue it is a selling point, until they change or start using ai art, although I highly doubt they will.

I love the art opened 4 boxes and keeping a sealed case for the future.

just came back from organizing the biggest european tournament so far last weekend. we had almost 40 players and the vibe was phenomenal! this community is genuinly great and i did not have that much fun at a tournament jn ages. unfortunately still no summer beta in europe, though 😬👊🏻

US surely is a lot bigger in terms of tournaments than the EU, agreed, but sorcery tournaments with more than 16 people are not common in the US neither. unless you all are playing for fun and it’s not recorded in the play network, all good 😁👊🏻

@@MicDropFacts Well, the amount of booster boxes available in Europe was significantly lower than in the USA. So there is less players in Europe because just a few people have had a luck to get the boxes. I hope it will change with next Sorcery set and there will be a lot of new players in Europe. And of course a lot of big tournaments. 🙂

In the league of Magic as the most important art project of our lifetime, and arguably more with the timing and commitment to traditional in an age of digital art and AI

As a guy who has been playing Magic since Unlimited and will be playing until I die, I LOVE Sorcery it's getting all of my "new product money" that would have been going into Magic. Oldschool MTG, Premodern MTG and Sorcery are all I play now. I'll show up to Commander night for the laughs and social aspect I'm not buying new product and don't care about the game. Sorcery hits the same spot Oldschool and Premodern MTG do for me. Great game and the company is off to a great start. I wish them well.

Sorcery all the way. The passion for the game and hand drawn art by the developers is unprecedented

I feel so bad for my entire MtG collection. They are just sitting in my closet collecting dust while jealously watching me create new Sorcery decks. Sorry Magic, I found a new love. No harsh feelings, right? We can still be friends.

The Sorcery promo slab was my first graded card ever and looks clean, professionally done, and overall looks great. It may not hold tons of value but I love it. The betas are my first Sorcery purchase as well and I’m happy i got ‘em. Thanks Rudy!

I didn’t not like it. At most it was mid. but to each their own. and no i haven’t played mtg since 2012-2013. Not a mtg shill or fan boy.

Personal take... I've bought 9-10 boxes (including one Rudy kit) and opened all but one that I'm saving - this game is 10. They've nailed every aspect, improved on certain aspects of games like MtG, and have built a really great network for players. The only issues I see right now: hard to find players locally (events are far) and the tendie chasing is making it difficult for the game to expand.

I predict that box prices of Arthurian Legends will settle at about $165, and that if you can get one for the msrp of $150 it will be a good deal, no I do not think Arthurian Legends will break and stabilize at over $200 for at least a year or two.

You can see this exact story with Lorcana. First Chapter boxes going to 230-250. Second set is around 140-150 right now.

Sorcery has to come down in price. In Germany Beta was nearly impossible to become, without preordering u had zero chance to get it to a "normal" price. Paid like 150€/165USD for a Box. Now they sit on 300€+ on ebay if you want any. More than 2 Boxes were not able to get. Its now at a price where i am not willing to open any and rather keep it sealed. Thats sad. The negative impact is, that it will directly start as an investment game and now has to get turned into a players game aswell. Or collectors.

Just wanted to drop a thanks for the tip on Sorcery, Rudy. I backed the Kickstarter for alpha boxes based on your coverage. I happily sold my position around 1200-1300 a booster box. That 10x range was enough that if they dropped I'd have been upset I didn't lock in and if they still go up I'm happy with my return. Just unfortunate I didn't have the resources to buy more at the time, funds were tight while the Kickstarter was running.

this "summer beta" didn't actually go to underserved markets. Singapore bailed on it essentially and sent it all back over to the US where singles sellers are sitting on it to see if the market is willing to pay a premium for it since the art is oversaturated where as first print was undersaturated. (hence the summer beta name) basically people trying to price gouge it. whether this stuff ends up flooding the market remains to be seen, but we have not seen whatever the end result of this will be. this is besides the fact they got caught in a lie about their only being 1 print run up to this point and the additional stock was due to come with AL. that's honestly the most concerning part of all of this.

@@rickysoulless6534 There are starter decks. Im pretty sure you will still be able to buy in market at RRP. $60 (NZD) gets you 4 starter decks and a pack to open. Often the game stores will break the decks and sell them individually for around $20. If you were keen then $100NZD (cheaper than any large board game) give you the playmat and four starter decks
