Just Google how many wheelchairs are damaged on flights every year. And that's just the ones reported, severe unusable damage. My chair was damaged on a flight and I couldn't follow the ADA recommendation and report the damage before I left the airport because it was late and there was no one there to report the damage to. These chairs cost more than cars, much more, and they are peoples legs. Why are they allowed to keep breaking a reported 28 every single day! 10548 per year, wheelchairs can cost from 10 to 50 grand. That's a lot of money airlines are liable to re-emburse.
Think how quickly BA would do something if ground staff had broken a passengers legs, that’s effectively what they’ve done.
