Sophia's Life Was Changed in a Moment

Ойын-сауық

Sophia was training to be a jockey when she was thrown from her horse, breaking her neck.
She tells us how the camaraderie of people experiencing the same thing helped pull her through.

You indeed did really well! Keeping your mental health in check with any illness is so important I know because I deal with chronic pain daily, many years, I applaud you.

Wow the last video I saw she was bed ridden, she looks like she's gained a LOT of mobility posture etc. I did NOT recognize her, just her story.

Actually she hasn't gained any additional movement at all besides shaking her thumb. She posted that on Instagram.

You're lucky you didn't get an illness. "We have a popular discourse that increasingly demeans and devalues those who, because of life's misfortunes, find themselves dependant on a welfare payment. But the injustice should not be overlooked just because it was difficult or inconvenient." "If it was unjust for the legal system to discriminate on the basis of where an injury was suffered, or whether fault could be established, then it is surely unjust to discriminate between incapacity caused by a physical injury and incapacity caused by sickness or disease." - Andrew Little Little: Change ACC illness 'injustice' - Stuff 2012 'Justice delayed is justice denied The welfare system fails the 5 principles of Woodhouse miserably. It no longer prevents poverty, it creates and entrenches it. The idea of full participation and belonging for all is a pipe dream.' Susan St John 2019 Is it surprising that child poverty is so entrenched? Ultimately the removal of this discrimination is inevitable, because it is clear that this will provide a very cost-effective way to help meet Government’s child poverty reduction targets, but the harm to children of years of neglect by politicians cannot be readily forgiven.

@Darren - Sophia will experience more joy and life satisfaction in one year than could could in your entire emotionally-incapacitated life. She cares about people - people care about and love her. Between 1 - 5% of the population has the type of psychological profile you display. The rest of the world just has to deal with you. Sophia is on a higher plane than you and she is doing - and will do - just fine without you.
