Great to see that a video talking about the virtues of a Sony camera is shot on a Panasonic Lumix camera. I have both Sony and Lumix. Sony for Product Showcase, and those rare times I want full frame, but 90% of the time I prefer to shoot with MFT Lumix. The stabe, lens size, price, and camera ergonomics are all better with Lumix cameras. I do like Product Showcase, however.

Feel like that active steady shot was pretty jittery still, with lots of digital artifacts. I think I'll be sticking with lens IS for now. Compared to the stable on Lok's Lumix it's just night and day!

I don't really know. It seems like it´s not that good. But I think if you have a good phone, it's better and less complicated for vlogging. If you want to spend €1000 on something like that, you should save up for €2000 and get a Lumix S5ii like the one you had in the video. Definitely the way to go.

A vlogging camera without IBIS, no mechanical shutter, no 4K60 without crop, no 4K120 at all, and a pi$$ant 1MP LCD… in 2024… Yeah, ok… 😂😂😂

Somehow mark 1 is a best seller hence Sony releases the mark2. It's quite an enigma why this is a best seller. I'm only guessing that most vloggers buying this only to put this on tripod forever

For a budget "vlogging" camera under 1,000 USD, do you really think the beginner level audience they're aiming for will need more than what is offered? You're asking for specs way past an entry level niche specific item. I wish I could get a G9.ii for 800 bucks, but that isn't happening for a while. This camera isn't for me, and I'm not a fan of crippling what would be decent cameras to make "vlogging" cameras (G100 would have actually been decent for 700 USD or so, but they took out IBIS...when there were no active options that really worked... it was basically use the kit zoom or another lens with OIS or tough luck), but for a person who, like Kai mentioned, isn't a nerd or particularly cares about in depth specs, this with the 10-whatever Kai mentioned zoom would be a solid option. If you want a cine cam, get an FX30.

@@fml5290 the Z30 is a very nice camera. I have a ZVE1 which I absolutely love, but I had a Z30 and it’s very nice. You can pick one of those up much cheaper than one of these, and so I agree it smokes this. The big letdown on this is the crop at 60fps, no mechanical shutter and worst of all no mechanical IBIS.

Its not their best value yet, have you seen how much you can get this on Amazon UK? body alone new can be almost had for £430. Double the price for nonsense features for whom made the mark 1 as popular as it was, they don't care for them. Giving props to a huge mark up via adding features that most won't care for just gives companies like Sony more reason to price hike more stuff.

Lol, I made some comercials and works for editorial brands with de first version of the ZVE10, and I love it. So, maybe I'll buying this cause I dont have money yet for my Fx3 :c

I can't afford a cinema rig setup and I'm not a fan of merrorless ergonomics for video. So I'll wait for the updated NEX-VG30 or maybe an updated canon xc15 with apsc... 😂 I think I'll be waiting for a while.

As an owner of a VG-20, That would be great to see. An actual video camera with actual video ergonomics, not like these video cameras on photography bodies. It feels bad that Sony had something interesting in their hands with the VG series of camcorders.

I am surprised you didn't mention that it's a gimpped Sony a6700 for $400 less. They really just want you to get the a6700. Very dissapointing

No ibis, no evf, no mechanical shutter, no full frame, shitty screen, subpar AF. There's only value in this camera if your business model is based on reviewing Sony products in a positive light.

Id take a gh7 still.

This camera is $995 and an extra $100 with a lens. Gh7 base price is $2200, I would pick the A7Siii based ZV-E1 for that price.

The crop (1.5x) with the stabilization and the 16 mm (already at 1.5x crop) at the widest end leaves this a pretty crippled kit in my opinion. In full frame terms, that's 32 mm at the widest. Isn't that pretty much useless for vlogging.

I love Kai and Lok but I watch them for entertainment, I trust what they say as much as uber shill MKBHD. That camera was horrible a lot of the footage was just unwatchable and you should have slated it, overpriced junk.
