The screen quality is stunning I am totally in love with it even though a year later

I love this phone, one of my favourites of all time. I sold the XZ3 to get an XZ2! No kidding. I just appreciate it's more compact size in addition to a better screen (personal preference). I prefer OLED screens, but the LCD's on Sony phones are just great.

Wow, I'm glad I got an XZ2. Just bought mine today and I love it, it's an upgrade after using an XA2 Ultra for over a year. Definitely appreciate the compact size and the ergonomics of the device over the bigger XA2 Ultra and I thought about getting the XZ3 but Best Buy had a sale on the XZ2 that I just couldn't pass up. Definitely worth the purchase

Hdr videos look stunning

Iv had the xz2 for two years. Some things are good, some are bad. On the positive side, the phone doesn’t show signs of fatigue when it comes to battery life and stability. It runs just as smooth now, as it did two years ago. The gps module also works just fine, so unlike other phones I’ve had in the past, it is still working after two years and is not begging for a replacement. There are some issues and these comes from the psychosis the designers must have had when they made this phone. First issue is the combination of wireless charging and a concave rear. Two positive features, but when combined it is plain stupidity. Long story short if I receive a notification when the phone is on my wireless charging monitor (Samsung SE370), the phone rotates and the charging process stops. So wireless charging is totally useless. Second, the phone is marketed as being durable, however fitting a rear glass plate on something that is supposed to be durable will only end in tears. So yep the rear glass is fractured. 3rd, Sony fitted a good DAC on this phone but no minijack port. if you use the adapter for the usb c port, you will actually get a good sound experience. However, using an adapter put stress on the usb C port, inevitably after a few months the port failed, and it is now impossible to use for audio with an adapter. Basically, one is left with Bluetooth headsets only. Why on gods earth do you fit a high-end DAC chip and no minijack port? Camera is very good, but not snappy. The number one requirement of a camera in a mobile phone is the ability to quickly snap photos in a decent quality. The camera in this phone fails on this area. A camera should preform at its best when the user is at its worst. For the camera in this phone the story is the opposite. Last part is about the special features of this phone: great monitor, water resistance and extra strong vibrator. Are these features targeted for tanagers trying to pleasuring them self’s in a damp bathroom watching Deadliest Catch on youtube? I have no clue about what Sony was thinking.... Besides these issues the Sony XZ2 is still a great phone In late 2020.

It doesn't show signs of fatigue but do you notice that it gets warmer easily? Mine does. Not a big problem but still doesn't feel comfortable sometimes.

Been using it for already five years, but now it's time for upgrade. Xperia 1 V is the new one.

When it comes to the placement of the fingerprint sensor Sony had Reason for that. Sony dont think the fingerprint should be used if you Holding the phone. The placement is perfect for unlocking your phone if you pull the phone up from your trousers pockets. But what I can see no reviewers has ever tried that? Dont know why, but is not the first time Sony explaned something but no reviewers seems to ever know. The bezels is the other thing.

Im using sony since z1 compact, Im dissapointed that I have switched to Samsung S9 after XZ1 & XZ premium. use XZ2 for couple of weeks but didnt like it the way it should be..side finger print scanner and boxy rectangle was its unique feature. curve back doesnt look good at at.... I can give a chance to sony to get back to the core feature. keep XZ1 design with less screen bazels, and glass rectangle back would be perfect and should have a headphone jack.

just missing a 3.5mm jack. makes it too hard to buy

If you were an audiophile you'd not be listening to music on a phone but would invest in a nice dedicated DAP and would not expect good sound out of a phone as for most mobile makers SQ is somewhere down the list. That's because average Joe doesn't care, doesn't know better and couldn't tell a flac apart from mp3 to save his life.. Have a nice one Mr "audiophile".

I currently have an iPhone 6s and am considering switching to the xz2 compact. Any advice since you were in the same boat?

Just bought the XZ2 after previously having the XZ. I have to say that I am really impressed, the phone feels premium and well built. Last week I upgraded to the Huawei P30 Pro and whilst the camera tech is awesome, one of the Cameras suffered from a major glitch so I returned it and bought the XZ2 sim free for £340 and couldn't be happier.

I got a xz2 for £169 on ebay new condition

same here I know that Sony's design is not the best rn but I cant help but like it lol

I have seen on another youtube videos that the camera app is really slow when taking pictures, do you experience that aswell?

IMO, although the xz2 is heavier than the xzp (I currently have both), I can't really complain about its weight. I don't see why people complain about it. The only thing quite useless about the phone is the dynamic vibration. No game so far supports it, at least games I play. I have no problem with the fp placement at all. I hit it right (95% of the time).

The phone I'm watching with is XZ2 and I think it's from 2018 December 31th it's lasted for a long time

Just bought the ice silver one (Sept 19).. and it's gorgeous... Alongside the the old Nokia lumia 930... It's one of my favourite phones of all time.. Ive had a few phones in the last year, including the XZ3.. but I keep getting rid of them and coming back, drooling over those curves, the awesome camera, stunning screen.. but also how well balanced and sweetly musical and well tuned those speakers sound.. IMO, they're better than Samsungs AKGs (not as loud mind, but better quality) .. Its just an awesome device.. I just wish the 3.5 jack was here... Love Sony... I can see me holding onto this with Android Q or until end of life

i got xz2 and love it..somehow the camera app act bit weird sometime result in force closing app suddenly..usually happen in pro mode definitely will upgrade to xz3 during discounted sales from Sony

I still have Sony z1( 2013) and its still smooth and fast! Is there any other phone like that? Almost- NO! Because i had them almost all- closest to this is my OnePlus 6 but its just 19 months old( and thats nothing for OnePlus i ll see the exact long terms result in period that is yet about to come(- also have Sony z3( 2014) smooth and fast.

It feels like everything is displayed in hdr and I don't like hdr unless it's VR screens.

I'm disappointed that there isn't any supersampling because 1080p is fine but snapdragon 845 can handle 4k easily

You definitely need a cover, otherwise it will fall of a table...i hate the charging point at the bottem, it hurts you fingers if you hold your phone.... It is to heavy and the camera could be better.... Butt overal I om okay with it.

Google paid billions for HTC design team so Pixel 3 and on-coming Pixel 4 are true HTC phones. Current HTC models are designed and manufactured by OEMs, so HTC is only a marketing logo. Sony is also bringing their expertise and skills screen technology, digital photography and video, as seen in their latest models. So it's good to see the comeback of HTC (as Pixel) and Sony!
