This phone is perfect for me. So glad I found it in the sea of smartphones.

I'd take a phone with bezels that runs smooth as butter over a lagfest with infinity display.

I think its really funny that reviewrs allways talk about sony desing being "old fashioned" because of the bezels but, when htc, one+, pixel, or any other use big bezels its ok. Somehow sony is the only brand that is not allowed to have bezels.. i dont get it..

Lol, what reviewers have you seen? Pretty much all major YT reviewers I have seen criticise the thick bezels on HTC, iPhone, Pixel and One+ just like they do with Sony phones.

Norberto Castro I think the problem is not with the Bezels. It's the lazy attitude of the desingers that it looks exactly the same like a Xperia Z2 or Xperia z3 still in 2017.

Exactly that! If it had a completely different design with the bezels, they wouldnt care that much. I like the design myself, but we reached a point where you can't tell the difference between the different Sony flagships cause they look the same!

Still works good and smoothly as an alternative phone in 2022!

The bezels have absolutely no bearing on performance or function. If all you want is a laggy pretty phone, go elsewhere like Samsung

I have my G6 now replacing my Z5c but I must say evem though sony lacks the lowlight photography and design update I still miss my Sony's fingerprint placement, camera shutter button and front facing cam... If the XZ1 and G6 have similar prizes id have trouble choosing despite the design update on my G6, Sony's quirks can only be appreciated once experienced by user.

And also in 2022 Sony XZ1 is still working so good.)👍 Perfect Slow Motion, Beautiful "Loop Surface" design, IPS Triluminos Display, IP68, Stereo Dynamics, Type-C, NFS...)💪 This smartphone is Unique...)📱

@@2gbshorts16 For a smartphone of this size and thickness is normal. For basic, moderate use, it lasts all day. And in games, or when watching a video in high resolution, any smartphone can be discharged in 3-4 hours.)📱

Just buy the US model and flash an european firmware. Better than buying it abroad.

Well, I think "a gorgeos design (of the Galaxy S 8)" is a matter of opinion..I guess I´m one of those Xperia fans, who like the rectangular design..I mean what´s the point in having a phone that look like every other phone on the market anyways?? That, to me is is sheepish mass behavior conditioned by so-called marketing trends -often hype. I hope Sony caters for us "rectangle fans" for a long time to come.. ;-)

DRIVECLUB-is-timeless Hi! Firstly, no you can only use the "smooth skin" feature with the "selfie camera"! Furthermore, the screen is really good, especially with the "high contrast" mode enabled. Its size is perfect imo, it's not too big but also not to small. The phone is a little bit bigger than my previous Z5 it's for the better. Regarding the recording options, yes it can film in 1080p 60fps and 30fps👍

I just got the phone and one of the first things i noticed was that the flashlight is not bright at all compared to my xperia zl. That's a deal breaker for my. Has this happened to anyone? I need to know if there's something wrong with the phone.

There's no overheat from Snapdragon 835, but the body is aluminium, if you use this phone in cold weather it will be cold

Unless you don't care to dig these phone deeper, then obviously you won't notice a difference at all. All differences lie inside these smartphones, and I could list down all of the changes from these phones, but that would be a great waste of time.

Because they still make a ton of money out of it.. Sony has 2.3% market share wich is suficient to make money. Even less than 1% is enough. Apple started by saying that if they could get 1% of the market they hould make a lot of cash.. Now they have 20% market share and became the richest company in the world..

XZ1 is a better choice according to me. The resolution of XZ1 is1080p when compared to its compact, which is just 720p. Though the specs are same, XZ1 takes better photos.

1366solar the zx1 compact has much better battery life though Plus it's cheaper, and it depends on whether or not you mind the size

For $650 I can get a OnePlus 3T or a better phone with an IR Blaster and NFC capable which we'll be needing more and more in the future. I just bought a BRAND NEW phone that was called ''opened box'' but was just not liked and sent back to Amazon. I bought my new ZTE AXON 7 for just $324 and a full 2 year warranty from what I can tell basically, with non used ear buds, and quick charger and everything. The screen and sound is the best! KZread AXON 7 REVIEWS and yo'll see. Look around first! Peace!

Have used the G4, and low light only takes good processing, but if the XZ1 was properly processed, then it could possibly kill the G4. The LG G4 doesn't even stand a chance to the XZ1 in daylight, let alone the XZ of last year, which also kills the G4 in pure daylight. But yeah, a good image processing, OIS, reduce to 16mp and increase to 1/2" sensor, f1.8 lens, and a good processing like HDR+ would be fantastic, even if there will be no dual camera (which is nothing but gimmicky).

Johnny Pigman ..........If not much talk and not argue about this two cameras, I'll show you example from a personal comparison of XZ1 vs G4, which I spent yesterday, for the sake of interest. I take shot in a brightly illuminated store, at G4 I turned off HDR mode and left everything on AUTO, in XZ1, I switched to manual mode and set 17 MP. resolution (in theory in manual and with this resolution, it must should be much better). So, I'll show you fullsize sample in shop and one outdoor sample crop in bright sunlight, where, as you say, XZ1 should destroy G4 into small pieces. A picture in a brightly lit room: have to say that the XZ1 has a disgusting white balance, everything is not as it was in reality, the floor and walls super xperia camera made the green and the shadows too black, while my G4 showed a more correct orange color and a much more correct white balance. So,, XZ1 ( 2017) can beat G4(2015). Xperia has bigger and much better innov. sensor than Lg G4 with small and much more simple sensor. That`s really, LOL PS. I'm afraid to imagine what LG G4 would do with your XZ1, in low lighting ... )
