Got the XB30 a few months ago, after listening to the competition live to me it was the clear winner sound wise in that price bracket. You can't get full justice on KZread, but believe that sound quality is poppin.

I have it too and it’s really great! It’s cheaper in my country than the flip 4 and it sounds much better. At the other hand i wouldn’t get the Xb40 as it doesn’t sound as good overall. The treble is a bit too muddy even with the right eq settings in the songpall app.

I've been using the xb30 for a month or so...I'm really digging it. Picked it up for $89.00...a steal at that price. It gets pretty loud and still sounds decent at almost max volume. All genres of music sound pretty good, I recommend it. The extra bass button is neat (although I keep it on all the time), and the lights are just icing on the cake...I like the strobe setting the best.

Just got my xb40. Using it right now at the moment. I love it.

This video helped me greatly about choosing which wireless speaker to go with. Thanks for putting quality insight into your videos as always. It helps more than you know. I chose to give the xb30 a go and you are right about the sound this box outputs. In fact, I ordered one more from best buy (on sale for $99.00) to pair them up. It's going to be a tedious wait. I don't know if the music you choose to use for this video is yours or if it is available for all because I enjoyed them both, so I you can let me know about them, it would be appreciated.

Yo Floss, really dig your videos man. I like the Fact that you don't put some cheesy ass intro at the beginning of all your videos with some annoying music like tons of these other youtubers

Your music is so fire. Where can we get them?

The XB40 has a wider range, more definition between instruments and less muddied, BUT I have to ask myself: As somebody who doesn't care at all what a bluetooth speaker looks like, how many better choices for $250 are there? A lot of $100 units get a lot of praise, so I'm guessing in the 200-250 range there must be some real good products.

Check out the Fugoo XL (Style, Sport, or Tough), I just replaced my UE Megaboom with it. It blows that thing out of the water. The JBL Xtreme has more boomy bass but, imo, the mids are more defined on the XL.

Im definitely feeling that 2nd instrumental...how can i get may hands on it?

Picked up an xb40 on sale for 99 bucks, was gonna go for the xb30 but for the extra 10 bucks it was no contest, loads more bass and depth for me. Make sure you use the app with the eq to boost the mids and trebles as they aren't as pronounced in the xb40. Notch em up and your good to go.

What songs are you playing when you demo these speakers? I absolutely love them, but Shazam can’t identify them. Thanks in advance, and I love the reviews!

I have the XB30 in black, just bought it less than a month ago! Bought it for $120 at Best Buy. Great speaker, last forever it seems (easily a days worth at max volume). LEDs are pretty nice..don't expect it to light up a room but it's cool to have them on to add to the experience! It's actually louder than expected. The only thing negative I would say is that it does not charge with your usual micro usb. At the same time it's rated for 20-24hrs so you won't even need to charge it until overnight (but something to note). Party chain mode is a dope feature and the Music Feature app you download works, no complaints. Looking to get another 30 and then a 40 to have a nice 3-speaker setup around the house!

Can you buy and do the review of the Sony XB950N1? It's basically the cheaper version of their best noise canceling headphones right now. Regularly they go for $250, now they're $150 on Amazon.

Just to be on the safe side, I just communicated with Sony about that issue and they informed me that the volume limiting feature for extending the battery life is still a feature on their XB30 and XB40 speakers. I don't know what to believe but I'm not rollin the dice on these joints. I don't like returning ish. It's a shame because that is the only thing that is holding me back from buying it. What do recommend around the size of the XB40 with good bass/lows but at the same time not compromising the highs and mids?( i.e. The best combo of highs, mids, and lows)

Which one do prefer sound wise jbl charge 3 or xb40's

Thanks for the review. I thought I saw somewhere else that if you have two XB30 or XB40s paired together that when you turn the volume down from your phone it only controls the primary speaker. Is that correct? Do you have to walk to the 2nd paired speaker to physically turn it down? Thx

got a xb 40 and returned it the next day and got a harman kardon onyx 4 instead. sound quality wasnt what i expected from sony at that price. the charge 3 has better highs and mids but less bass so i might buy that one (again) for outside and HK Onyx for inside

I just returned my JBL CHARGE 3 for the Srs XB40 and I'm very impressed by the midst bass treble you here every instrument loud an clear I just got on 8-19-17 at best you even they said JBL is weak

I have the XB-30 for like a month now, and it is a beast... If you want to make them better, throw the treble to the max and the mids a little higher in the app, and just enjoy!

Dave M. The question is, why wouldn't you do that? They are IPX rated, I love testing stuff. Still no answer to how these compare. I'm guessing sub par if my recent Sony purchases tell me anything. I remember when Sony ruled the world..
