great video, thank you. i have a MB sprinter which i'm going to install this head unit into. similar to you with the surround needing to be added between the head unit and the screen, whilst screwing the head unit cage to the vehicle. i think this will be my only issue. that, and getting the steering wheel controls to work.

I am in the same situation actually, but I am pretty sure the AX-5550D is lovely with the capacitive screen, but the 8050D is bigger, has more screen glare.. Only benefit of that one is because its bigger it seems, all the others are downsights.

What's the difference between the 8050D and the 8000?

Price and GUI look nice. I plan on buying a 9"-unit. There are two Pioneer units - 8" and 9" screens, which I prevered at first. But I might not have enough space for these, as these panels are 220mm wide and I have air controls pretty close next to it. I have a Honda CR-Z. Can you tell me more about the actual width of the screen? On Sony's website it says 198mm. Is this frame included?

It's my guess they are the same units but different model numbers for different countries

Are those cages (sleeve) around the radio adjustable? I have a Sony radio like this one and the cords in the back hit the inside of the vehicles ac. Can I set that stereo further ahead by moving it forward in the sleeve?

Yes Mark, the unit has reverse cam input + HDMI if you wanted to use that.

Hi have you noticed much reduction in SQ from the GS9? If GS9 had dab+ I could use it but it dosn't sadly. I did try using webradio apps on mac mini install but it drops out too much. I wish SONY would just merge the GS9 into a touch dab+ headunit. So it seems I have to make the choice. Do I want slightly better quality or touch/dab/android auto etc. Will I be unhappy if I chance from GS(9to AX8150 ? thanks

I built a hood cover for mine, it helps a lot with glare.

Specs says it has 800x480 screen. Kinda low for a 9"

What did you do with the hand/park brake wire? Ive tapped in to my handbrake but when plugging in the phone, Im prominently being ask to set the brake!

It can tilt vertically, moved in and out and up and down, but no horizontal movement.

With this model you need a wire to use Apple CarPlay and android auto other companies make them with wireless Apple CarPlay and android auto but they are very pricey

I'm a bit worried about security - the screen doesn't look to be easily detachable - any advice on that please?
