The PSVR2 does not suck! It may not be selling as well as it should, but it is a solid headset. I wish people would stop trashing it.

Same reason I don't even pay attention to game reviews anymore. I've played many amazingly fun games that reviewers rated terribly. Fun is a subjective experience.

I still tinker with my Vita daily. heh It's my travel handheld... jailbroke it and got it loaded with emulators and whatnot. Still a fun little system. It's also properly portable! ;-)

I believe Sony would want to sell a $1.2k sony walkstation cellar phone and wish it to sell around 20 to 40 million, and even though it would be a portable sony handheld and a phone that would cost 800 dollars less than the iphone, yet gaming fans wouldn't show up to get sony a tens of millions selling video game phone.

You consider yourself an 'old' gamer? I'm 53, and I still game all the time. Like you I haven't turned on my xbox x in forever. I live in a rural area and have crappy internet. Xbox x updates have gotten so large that it would take me a couple of months for just Halo Infinite updates to download. I too hope for PS3 emulation. I love playing Resistance, Killzone, and The Infamous series.

By now these fancy controllers should be the standard. You shouldn’t have to pay extra for something that does stuff. The normal controller should already do.

I just want Sony to give up control of Bloodborne to FromSoft so they can PROPERLY re-release the game with modern graphics as well as 60+ FPS capabilities.

They NEED to bring back Warhawk, Socom, Killzone and Resistance multiplayer games. The PS3 had so many games in retrospect that its crazy.

Omfg so glad to see people still want a Warhawk remake or a better sequel, definitely need more Killzone, we need MAG 2, and they need to make a new Resistance. Also there is a Warhawk server still running I know people who still play join the community on FB to get the server.

Sony needs to put out new PS5 games! Dang! What are they doing?!

I don't think Sony will ever make PS3 games available natively. I've been telling my cousin for years they are purposely holding that back to force people who want to play those games to pay for their subscription service. Also if ppl can play the original games it will make selling the watered down 'made for modern audiences' remakes harder.

I love my PS portal. It was a real lifesaver/came in hand, but I had to do an unexpected trip seven states away from where I live, and having that portal with me, was allowing me to keep some sanity while I was taking care of what I will take care of.

I owned (3) PS 3's and Everyone of them quit working ... but I enjoyed the Games alot...😎✌️

Definitely can relate. Im on my 4th ps3, but thats from the launch window to now, nearly 20 years. The last one that went bad was a failed disc drive that I tried to replace, probably will boot homebrew on it tho. The amount of games I own on it however, will mean I keep getting one forever tho. Really waiting for the ps5 to get support for ps3 running on it before I buy. Even then with its price point, im more on the fence of waiting till I see how reliable they are.

Just curious... what was your maintenance schedule on those 3's ? I still have my launch model 60gig fatboy, still running strong, only issue is the fan is loud compared to my 4's and 5. I had to replace the power block once. Keep it on the top shelf of my console cabinet but do a dust vacuum twice a year. Sounds cliche but even minimal maintenance can add years to your consoles lifespan.

Honestly, I feel like Sony has dropped the ball. Especially with their star points. What are they giving us for our as far as waiting for them to figure out what was wrong with it or updating it or whatever they did without telling anybody about. It was rude and unprofessional

Granted I miss the days of dedicated handhelds it’s highly unlikely we’re gonna see companies split their resources.. Switch, Steamdeck and now leading up to Portal changed all that.. Not necessarily a bad thing being portable gaming will still get better and better with time

@@NeverForget1776 in an unofficial capacity it’s a lot easier to release something “as is” there’s still lots of games (particularly some of the PS3’s flagship games) that run very poorly on any sort of emulator. This would be deemed unacceptable by any company releasing something in an official capacity. Go compare the RPCS3 compatibility list, to the Dolphin one, even Dolphin is only JUST passable if it were to be some sort of official release instead of a community project

My only complaint with the DS Edge is that it is top heavy. It feels like it is going to fall out of my hands. There needs to be more weight or at least an option to add weight to the bottom of the handles.

For someone who claims to like Final Fantasy 7, you figure you'd know that Crisis Core's ending IS canon and that it happens BEFORE FF7 Remake, not between Remake and Rebirth.

Bro I remember using my metro phones hotspot to play ps now or whatever it was called back then on my vita. And I remember till this day, it was 2016, and I played bioshock infinite on a mobile device which was shocking. For me, a console only player at that point. Worked a lot better at 2mps than I get at 15-45mbps now currently with 5g WiFi.

My main gripe with Sony has always been their architecture when building a console. Sure, it performs quite well, but it has always been a mess when it comes to backwards compatibility and ports. My second gripe is their insistence on participating in a console war that no longer exists.

I will not buy an edge. And the simple reason is that in the US market, we have been practically lied to about a major selling point: the swappable stick modules. Finding them is nearly impossible without sketchy resellers, including on the official Sony page.

The portal and the elite headphones have been the only thing recently that have sold for a decent price that’s not too jacked up. Controller sounds nice but 170 is still ridiculous. That thing needs to be 120 minimum. Its reduced price is still more than double a regular controller

I don't usually have time to sit long enough to kill the battery to the dualsense or dualsense edge

The edge falls apart. The sticks drift and back buttons fall apart. The replacement sticks are $49. Black Friday Dualsense is $49. The new Dualsense stick drift is better than the edge.

I want the edge controller but I want a different color 😢

Sony underestimates their audience… We choose consoles out of convenience, but at the end of the fight, we will find a way to game.

Ik mine has stick drift last 3 months and can't buy any thumb modules. Currently unavailable is all it's said since end of April.

I tried staying loyal. PC is it for me going forward. Nothing from Sony. Where is the PS5 Pro?? I'm done.

The price hike on the stick module is crazy I bought 3 last year though

Why is it so damn hard that we can't get mercenaries 1 and 2. Or at least the story mode of SOCOM 1-4.

Don't buy the ps5 edge controller, unless they sort out the stick modules stock issues. Haven't been able to buy and been sold out worldwide...since January. Only way to get them if you risk buying off a third party selling them marked up at ridiculous prices. Shame, love that controller

I think what he means is that Sony doesn't support it natively so you have to find one or more 3rd party drivers and apps to make it work wirelessly

@NeverForget1776 I guess the Steamdeck was able to automatically find and download the drivers. All I had to do with my Edge controller for my Steamdeck was sync it like any other Bluetooth controller. It automatically recognized it as an Edge controller and I was gaming with it right away.

The edge is hands down the best controller ive ever used. Still not worth 200 tho. 😂

"Buy an Edge Please". Meanwhile I've sent 2 in for warranty claims...on top of my 8 stick drift dualsense originals. Dont...the back buttons break and the hand grips bubble up.

The thumbsticks aren't good on the edge. i changed them aswell and the replace the battery for an loconsoer 2000mah battery. it runs 6-8 hours! instead of the sony battery has 1050 mah only runs for 4 hours, get rid of this crap.

If they're only doing select games then we are definitely screwed because they're going to only choose the worst of the worst instead of everything that we want I'm more of a PS2 Sony fan and everything after has just been a downhill descent

they should have done what PS2 and 3 done and make it run most last gen discs.

I do miss the portable Sony systems. If they came a real one and not the one that have to be on the same network I would so pick it up. If Sony had something like the steam deck where you can download your digital copy games on it where you can play away from your system that would be so cool. I would buy that thing

"Literally no excuse..." Yeah there's a bit of one at least, emulating Cell Architecture hardware. The ROI for emulating PS3 on PS5 for sony is likely not worth investing the resources into this. Regardless I really do hope they get this right on the PS6 at least. PS1-PS5 backwards compatibility, and only needing one machine for the whole of the PlayStation library (PSP and Vita too maybe?).

If Sony can find a way to get people to repurchase older pSX games for the PS5 or just pay for some feature the ability to emulated older games on the PS5 will happen like as if by magic.

Honestly the small amount of people who wants to play games from 2 consoles ago won’t lose Sony any money… I have a back log of current games. No reason to go back to PS3 games 😂😂 maybe spend some times outside friends

Had a ps3 and got rid of it when the 4 came out. So i have no reason to play 3 games anymore. I never touch any game once I finish them, emulation means nothing to me and is a waste of my time

I love my portal but my vita never leaves my side its modded with a 1tb SD card with over 600 vita games, hundreds of psp and PS1 games every emulator from NES to gba to n64 and dreamcast its amazing playing marvel vs Capcom 2 on flycast commuting to work

Both the PS3 and the XBOX 360 were game changing consoles

You have to consider the Xbox is still Microsoft based so it has straight up pc abilities and accesses which is why so many hackers use Xbox to cheat so easily

Hello, I think I'll end up replacing the bad hdd on my ps3, I want to finish folklore, infamous festival of blood, dante's inferno, and I have full boxes of physical ps3 games mostly special or collector's editions.

I think the reason is many of us have hundreds of PS3 games that we will now get to download and they have to support all that.

I wish I had a reason to turn on my series X. I really like the series X. As little games as there are for ps5, I have played that way more. At least 4 exclusives so far. Forza 4 and 5 I played on PC.

I should be able to reach my Playstation 3 account from my PS4 or 5 and pull the games from it instead of the nonsense they've been giving us

Give us a vita 2, that could be used as a tiny little monitor to your ps5 via type C. They did it with the psvr2, easily worth just as much as a switch to me if I could play games without worrying about the weather or my connection or eat through my “premium” data. Here in 2024 they still data cap us for 1080 resolutions. So 1-2 terabytes of data from your WiFi carrier ain’t what you think it is. A few updates, a few 4k movies, and a few decent sized games and you could mess around and hit your throttle limit inside of a week. 😅

The edge controller is poor quality the back button design will fail quickly it is a bad design and poor materials. The internal clips to the buttons break and thus the ability to depress button impossible. Buy another premium controller don’t waste time with the edge

I love sony products but I hate Sony's greed and reluctance to make their customers' life as hard as possible. They could give PSP two joysticks but that will be too useful for their customers, so they put only one joystick. On PS Vita they could put L2 and R2 triggers but that would make their customers' life easy so they omit the triggers. They could make the PS vita use a common and cheap SD card memory but that would also make thei customers' life better so they make the PSVita use a super expensive proprietary memory card. They could have made a good portable handheld in Portal but they don't want their customers to have a good portable handheld so they made stream-only Portal. I hate Sony people and their greed and the way they treat their customers. I still like their products though.

Dualsense Edge - biggest ripoff 'premium' controller ever. Totally regret buying it. I own every PS5 premium controller (except that Razer rubbish) & if really is total shit. After one year occasional use, it barely lasts 90 mins batt & the rubber underneath is falling off 🤦🤦🤦 Apex FlyDigi 4 absolutely destroys it. Personally my all round favourite right now & this thing is CHEAP. Love the Victrix for fighting games as my thumbs are screwed from 30+ years of fighting games on pads.
