i seen so many people saying these are terrible for the gym but i bought these solely for the gym so thanks for the upload! i’m going to wipe them down after every workout and store them in their case with a silica gel packet in each ear cup to absorb any excess moisture

@@PeekADrew_ still feels brand new! the silica gel packets in each ear cup does wonders. i upgraded the ear cups tho to better ones and they sound amazing. the brand is “wicked cushionz” after each workout, i have those alcohol pad squares and wipe em down so they don’t collect bacteria. little high maintenance but makes the workout/pump insane.

Funny story. I use my wh-1000xm3 for long distance running and working out of course and didn’t have any issue with my sweat getting into it. It’s just a bit hot that’s all.

Didn't know this headphones are not suitable for Gym that is a real shame. Just returned from the gym, the wear sensor had some sweat droplets on it. That prevented the headphone to automatically pause the song. I think I won't risk it, although you said you have it for 1 year now and it seems fine. I wonder if you work-out often, like 3 days a week or so. That is really sad, the headphone is amazing, It was just me, the treadmill and my thoughts... but I think I'll get my old cheap headphone back in the game. :(

It’s weird. I originally had the black versions of the xm4’s and they were a bit loose and often moved around when running. Walked into bestbuy and noticed they had the midnight blue version and I exchanged them (just for color preference) I noticed right away that the midnight blue version fit more snugged and doesn’t move around when I run.

I have both the black and the beige, these are to nice for the gym. These are for coffee shops, chilling and listening to music or podcast on ur fav. Chair not the gym

The headphones work great for blocking out convoys though. Not heavy machinery like road workers if they are near you or on your street.

Hi I've watched a lot of your headphone reviews, I've noticed you never talk about, headphone noise leakage. I bought my headphones after a long research of things I need from a headphone and Sony xm4 won. But I found the noise leakage is terrible, to a point my partner is annoyed when I have them on in bed. Recently I went on a trip to Mexico, and to my dismay, the passenger next to me, asked if I could turn my headphones down, I was so surprised by how much it disturbed them, as my phone was at half volume. Have you noticed this with the Sony's??And what from your experience are the best non-noise leakage headphones. Thank you

Mine creak from the headband. I sent them back to Sony for repair, they came back, still creaking. There’s a lot of people talking about this. Don’t go near them. I’ve now gone for the Bose 700

Eh, that’s the last place I’d use it. Not made for that purpose at all (but we all know that already). You’d need specialist-type headphones for that purpose & there may not be that many out there. Just saying though, for others who are considering this, no complaints if it’s somehow rendered unusable afterwards.

I really wish swiping to change tracks and swiping to change volume were on opposite sides. Too many times I have tried to adjust the volume and it has change tracks. That can be quite annoying.

' As i know the XM4 has a build in DAC a very good Codex, 40,000 Hhz and so on. So is it worth it! the earcups do they break fast or do they keep going strong after 2 years for example? i want to know everything, but many youtube channels just say the same thing and such.

ive been searching up comparisons of the wh and wf to see which i should get and ultimately i decided on the wh, but ive been thinking i should still get the wf for the gym just for the sweat resistance. im so worried that ill damage the headphones but also dont like the idea of shelling out another 250 for practically the same product. 😩i still have no idea what to do

Hi, Well, speaking from my own personal experience I have not had a single issue with these headphones and I only use them specifically in the gym. I've had these since September of 2020 and their used often. I've encountered zero issues with them. They operate pretty much the same as when I first used them brand new out of the box. Since their not water resistant, there is that risk of damaging them as Sony has stated but mines has been running flawlessly. You could always sale your M4's and buy the WF. Someone would likely be willing to buy them off you. Hope that helps.

I have both. They're both fucking amazing. You can't go wrong with either. If you plan on using your headphones for more than just the gym, buy the WH1000XM4s. If you want maximum portability to just pop in some privacy and listen to what you want to off your phone, I'd go with the WF-1000XM4s. TLDR: If you're gonna have mainly media consumption off your phone and you're often on the move, I'd use the in ear WFs. The key with them is absolute portability. If you aren't constantly on the move/more of a homebody, go with the over ear WHs.

I have both WH 1000xm4 they are very good headphones and I have the wf1000xm4 they are amazing too you should definitely try them but if u want to be on the safe side try the wf1000xm4 they are amazing and they are ip 4 rating so I believe they would be better

i had the 2nd gen beats solo headphones and wore those in the gym for a couple years before the headband snapped on me. they weren't water resistant and i never had a issue with them. now i have the sony xm4 headphones and i wear them in the gym now i bought some silicone earpad covers for them from wc sweatz (not perfect fit they are more designed for beats studios but they stay on nicely no issue of the covers slipping off when wearing the headphones and you barely notice the covers are on them. i did end up cutting a small area for the sensor in the left ear so i can still get the pause function

The W-1000XM4's are INCREDIBLY prone to moisture damage. Fair warning to anyone who thinks these would make a good gym headphone.

@@JarodYounger How much do you sweat? I plan to buy it this month for gym use but I sweat easily and I sweat like a faucet. I'm not worried about the ear cups since they're replaceable but I'm worried it might ruin some feature like the auto pause if I sweat too much.

You're not suppose to wear headphones when sweating so I don't get the logic of wearing them while exercising.

So if they slide on you, I have long hair they will probably slide right off. Shit. I really considered these!

Honestly, I don't think that would be a good idea. That kind of constant heat over a extended period of time may cause problems with electronics.

Anybody else have noticed that not all 3.5 cables fits this Headphones?

And 3 cons I would like to add that it is not comfortable to sit in them for more than 2 hours

my beat studio 3s were my go to gym headphones. They broke on me so i decided to buy these and I 100% regret it. These headphones are almost 2x as quiet and have way less bass. The sound quality and noise cancelling sound the exact same to me. The touch pad on the side also gets annoying so I turned that feature off. These also slide off my head extremely quick. My ears also get hot in these very quickly. I am refunding these soon to buy a new pair of beats. Do not buy these for working out.

Yup I got these today, and they are going back to the store tomorrow and traded for studio beats. My beats lasted me 3 years, and I had silicon covers to go over the ear pads during workouts. The sound quality of the beats is 10 times better. I did not like the feel of the Sony headphones during my workout.

Hard to find headphones that can get loud enough for the gym. The beat up old pair of beats I use now are the closest I’ve came. Glad to know these don’t get very loud. That’s a deal breaker for me.
