I have both and I prefer the sp800n especially for calls. With the xm3 when your on a call you hear everything around you with the sp800n it blocks out your surroundings. Also the battery life is better sp800n

I was sooooo finding such comparison. NO bullshit and on point! LOVE IT!

Also with the sp800n with NC off you can get up to 13hrs on each earbuds so for the price it's worth it

I just left best buy and couldnt decide between the WF-1000 and the WF-800. After seeing this video Im glad I chose WF-800. Great video, keep up the great work 👍

Question: I’m wondering what differences are there in the Apps of both of these, since they are both Sony, I would think that the bass on the Sp800 can be adjusted if you are not a ‘bass head’ like me. Just got WF-SP800N for 150$ and these are massively underrated. The wing tips really keep them stable and it doesn’t lead to much fatigue. The sound is really good with super strong bass. ANC is average but will be good be enough in a gym to remove treadmill sounds. The ambient mode is good though. The best part if really long battery, the colour options and lastly the EQ is super useful. Of course the best part being water resistant

Maybe I'm more sensitive to high-frequency noise, I feel that it sounds worse after turning on ACN for both SP800N and XM3, because the high-frequency stands out. And, could you please record the original noise, so the audience knows how much volume the ACN can reduce? While I was listening to this video, I felt it was so loud even with ACN on. Wondering if the ACN function really helps.

Great review Aaron, thank you. I like that you repeat segments like ANC so we can double check what we thought we heard the first time and confirm for ourselves. Well, I love my Jabra 85Ts, and they also have multipoint ability that SONY and many others do not (Apple, Bose, Sennheiser, Jaybird, Klipsch, etc.). However I purchased the SONY 800N simply based on the fact that they are very close to the Jabra, plus having a more secure fit and not wiggle out of ear after sitting in for some some time. Based on what you described and showed (jumping jacks), I hope they are far more secure for all kinds of activities and as comfortable like Jabra’s 85T (Jabra’s oval tip is very comfortable for long term use).

if we go to sony store. do we get to buy the wingtips to use on wf-1000xm3? it's sad that the device is powerful but can't be utilised fully

Been thinking to buy an ANC one from a while: but the issue being the wf-1000xm3 tho being the best in ANC , doesnt have IP rating . I ordered the Sp800n and tested them for a Week and send them back. I never got them right on my ears. I tried all earpads and non worked out. Then I ordered the wf 1000 xm3 . Huge difference in the way they felt in my ears. Ten times better because they went inside my ear blocking my ear canal and letting me feel the noise cancelling. The WF- SP800N were only sitting outside my ears being holded by the wing tips. I am so glad I returned those.

Does the wing tip really hurts? I’m actually having a hard time deciding. I first came across with the 1000xm3 and I’m so close to purchasing it but in-ear types usually either come out of my ears or cause discomfort if used for like 2 hours and that got me looking for other options. So I was thinking sp800n would be a better option for me since there’s a wing tip that could hold it in place? Help me out 😅😅

Just got this a few days ago. Pairing was really smooth, sound is fantastic and fits my ears straight out of the box. Have not tried phone calls yet and taking it outside for a walk...am sure that i will not be disappointed. It was very loud when I first connected that I have to lower the volume.

@@gasparchayer yes...it does. Cuts out wind or air conditioning noise but don't expect not to hear a car horn. That would be dangerous if it does.

@@8kings23 i was going to buy the XM3 today, but i realize that i cant control volume with the panel. That bothers me a little, i am not glad with the idea of control the volume from the cellphone. Ok so first question, with the sp800 i can control volume from the touch panel? Secondly, how much difference is between both Active Noise Cancelation? I love that characteristic, but if the sp800 the ANC is considerably worst, then i would pic XM3, the third question is the same but with the sound quality jaja. I appreciate your help so much

What was sound setting (noice cancelling, ambient sound,...) were the sp800 in during the call test? People have a hard time understanding me with mine especially when I'm walking next to a road

How would the SP800N compare to Jabra Elite 75t and JBL Live 300TWS. Currently using SP700N, love it cause of the bass but problematic due to its battery life and high latency while watching videos.

I had the sp700n and sp800n don't have quite as much mid-upper bass on my playstation vita so its not quite as strong as sp700n but sp800n sound cleaner to me. The xb700 still have that bass strength apparently though. I have only heard one par of JBL earbuds and wasn't impressed but I like their speakers and have 2 xtreme'1s

Hey Aaron.... How ya been buddy? I agree with your assessment of the 800s NC. I was hearing the same thing but could not put what I was hearing into words. Why would they do NC this way? I don't like it. I like the air pods pro NC much better, but I'm a bass head like you so you already know what j I like soundwise.

I am struggling with mine with thw fitting, at one point the start to feel loose and fall, i will need to test extra buds. Also the whitenoise is pretty annoying when NC is on.

See my comment. I’ve owned the 75T (until I misplaced or lost them) and now have 85Ts. Their oval tip ear insert is more comfortable than the round one with the 75T, but for me, secure fit could be better after spending time with them and natural body oils or moisture and ear movement while walking or more, they end up wiggling loose, for me at least. Love the Sound+ software with Jabra. See my comment herein as well.

I just bought a pair of XM3’s and I have one complaint...I wish they were just a tad bit louder. I saw your video on how to make them louder but that didn’t do anything for me. They sound AMAZING, I’m just always finding myself trying to turn the volume up. I hope they fix that with the XM4.

I couldn't stand the SP800N while at the gym. The high pitch sounds of exercise machines and metal clanking caused them to pump up the white noise so much I turned the ANC off. If they left out that feature (or bug?) I would easily recommend them over Jabras. Some ANC is better than White Noise + ANC.

Jabra EA 75T vs Sony sp800n ?

With the Sony xm3 when you buy the spin fits ear tips, it’s as if you have a wing...literally stay place in your ear when running and exercising... Sometimes I have a hard time getting them out if my ears lol

The touch part of my sp800n got scratched easily in both earphones. Would that be normal?

I had the XM3s and they're amazing. They just don't fit my lifestyle. I loved them but I listen music mainly while I'm working out and the XM3s just don't stay in place. It's impossible to run more than 50m with them without having to re adjust them. Also they don't have any type of water resistance. Sound quality is amazing tho. Now I got the SP800Ns and they're perfect for me.

I own them and I own the Xm3 earbuds. I work out alot thus Sports durability and design is important to me. I have been using the XM3s to workout with Comply Tips and it has been eh, okay. I biked with XM3s in a rain storm and sweat alot in the gym; surprisingly they still held up lmao. Now that I have the SP-800Ns, I feel way more secure they won't fall and trust the water resistance. Highly recommend the 800Ns, the wings are a game changer! I tweaked the EQ settings and now have sound relatively similar to the xm3 earbuds but with extra bass. I bought them refurbished on sale @ $119 bucks after taxes. 9 hours of battery with anc and 13 hours without anc! IPX water resistance!

Johnny Nguyen had the same problem with my xm3’s. I even bought the 3-pack comply ear tips for $25. After a while those comply ear tips heated up and became very soft and still loosened up in my ears lol. These 800ns were the perfect solution!

joolima have these and the jabras. The jabras sound almost as good as these Sony’s. The only good thing about the jabras was how small the case is! It actually fits in your pocket without noticing it lol.

I just returned my sp800n to the Sony shop. They were not very pleased and tried to explain their way out of my issues for over 30 minutes. 1. He explained that the Noise Cancelling is not a separate feature, its controlled by the ambiance balance, this means you cant have both working separately although the feature "Noise Cancelling" is a separate feature turned on and off in the left Bud. So that gets an "F" Mark. 2. If you want to be able to Pause, Fwd, Back your music then you cannot control the volume from the head set. It's either one or the other. This is why there is no where in the short instruction that tells you how to change the volume. Very Silly. The salesman said you cant find an ear bud that has all the controls but I've been using Jabra's for 3 years and they do it all without changing modes in the App. 3. If you want the feature on where the headphones detect your environment, then you'll have to put up with the left ear bud stopping and starting every time it switches between environment modes. Very annoying. 4. I told him the sound is not as good as Sennheiser M3IETW-C Which are a pretty old model, but I purchased the Sony's because of the ear fit, his answer was yes your right you'd have to compare those with the 1000's. So all in all the SP800's are not really fit for purpose and the Sony staff are not very well informed about their product or the market around them. He was pretty Narky and I doubt I'd every try them again.
