This packaging deserves universal praise. Please do not ask for more trash for you to throw away. If you are "buying an unboxing experience" you are throwing money away that could have gone into the product. This is unambiguously an excellent packaging choice.

I thought the same. Sony should be highly praised for eco friendly easy to recycle packaging. Also agree with you point that in terms of cost, better for it to mostly go into the product rather than the packaging. ♻️👍

I mowed my lawn with the ANC on and holy shit... I would usually wear my earbuds with those noise canceling head things you'd get in you were to mow the lawn but I didn't need that since the ANC was so incredibly scary good.

They are very good in term of ANC, but for example my 3 years old WH-1000XM2's have better ANC, but it is a different type of headphones. Over the ear construction will always win.

Have you tried using them in heavy wind? like on a bicycle? I have been looking to buy these as mywh-1000xm4 (overear headphones) had a malfunction. But I don't know what to expect from the wind suppression. (compared to the wind suppression of the overear)

Great review! My most important factors when deciding on earbuds is comfort, case size, and sound quality. This is why I would normally carry my Buds Live over the XM3s. The case was much smaller, and they were more comfortable for me. I just got my XM4s yesterday and I think they will replace my Buds Live as my most used earbuds. Thanks for the video!

I love my pair. My old XM3 did fall off various times. I do like the fit of the new set and having Qi wireless charging is the cherry on top of my purchase.

You and floss seem to be the only two on KZread who aren't reading from the same note card complaining about the name. 😂. These have officially replaced the pixel buds as my daily headphones. I'm hoping multi point connection comes with a future update but definitely not holding my breath. At first I was thinking I'd hate the ear tips...but I tried using some silicone tips and they didn't feel as secure so I put the foam back on and I got used to them. 😂. I use the assistant to switch between ambient mode and noise cancelling so I can have volume control as well. It even works with hey Google. Unfortunately that means I can't use either bud individually for some reason. Only the right works out of the case with the assistant. Your eq settings are just like mine. 😂

Does the lid on your charging case have a slight looseness to it at the hinge? I have them too and the lid on my case feels a little loose when I grab the lid with my fingers and jiggle it around a little. I'm also coming from the pixel buds and the case for the pixel buds feels a lot more solid than the XM4's case.

Hey @skullcrusher_1 To use the buds individually, disable voice assistant for the earbuds and you'll be able to use them easily.

Basically the voice assistant assigning of an earbud creates a master-slave connection making it the primary. Remove it and you shouldn't have any issues

Thanks for mentioning the mic quality on the AirPods Pro. I have been stuck on those due to a large volume of calls but I would really like better audio playback. So maybe I ought to give these a try? Thanks for another great review!

Use the large tips no matter what. They are the most comfortable because they stuff your canal like a soft Marshmellow and don't allow the buds to irritate the ear from slight movement. They even allow them to stick out a little further so they don't touch

Wonderful review! Covered all the points that concern the user. What do you feel, will multi-point connection be available in future through software upgrade or are they going to hold it for XM5?

I'm on my second pair of wf xm4's. The first pair I was not impressed with the ANC. Especially compared to my gen one wi 1000x. Also those poly foam tips that come with the wf xm4's began to hurt my inner part of my ears(the pain lasted 5 days after I stopped using them). I returned them and got the Bose quiet comfort. Loved the wing tips and they were more quiet with ANC than the wf xm4. Main problem with the Bose QC is that you cannot use the left bud by itself(unless you have the case open, weird). Now I had the same issue with the wf xm4's, the work around for them is turning off the Google assistant(kinda lame because I use my assistant a lot). Also the Bose app('s?) suck. On to my second pair of wf xm4's from the Bose QC, and I'm enjoying them a lot more. I had a revelation and decided to just use the tips that came with my wi 1000x's so my inner ears don't hurt. I might try the poly foam ones again and use the trick that this guy said and squeeze the foam before putting them into my ear.

Anybody notice that Mr. Gamesky is getting fitter? He looks ripped

@@itt-itamartechtime8867 I haven’t done a battery life test but it won’t last as long as 8 hours if u have dsse on and prioritize sound quality. They seem to last pretty long even with those features on which I assume take up a decent amount of battery and they sound great. The anc is also amazing.

Great review! But what really caught my eye is your wireless charger. May I ask the brand or if you have any link to purchase it.

At 10:55 in ambient sound control can you change the “tap” so you can cycle through all three modes including “off” I’d like to be able to use off without pulling out my phone and opening the app.

Foam tips offer superior audio quality. But then adding that little bit of silicone prob makes them last longer. As foam tips need to be replaced every so often as they get too squishy. Great review

How about the headshake test for gym?

Most important about ANC is how much of the surrounding they cancel while you're on a call, some in ears make the calls horrible due to all the noise in the background. No reviewers seems to talk about it that much

I trust your ears Gamesky, but all the other reviews on KZread said they were a lot more bassy than the xm3 right out the box. Some even said it sounded almost like the over-ears xm3 / xm4. Do you think it’s possible that you got a semi-defective unit?

Hey gamesky I got the Noble Audio Falcon Pro recently and I think they sound phenomenal would be cool to know your thoughts on them!

I own these and I can attest to the sound and anc, but the only thing that bugs me is that when you assign a voice assistant to the earbuds you are no longer able to hot swap the earbuds.

Are there any budget earphones that also have the simultaneous connection so that each earphones volume can be controlled independently?

I know this is kind of unrelated but what are the recommendations between the SoundPeats T2/Sonic/Truengine3SE ? I'm looking for the best sound and the flatter eq of the 3.

@@bottledwater3131 decent, still has a noticeable hissing sound but it is less apparent than the XM3. Speak to chat is neat too.

Did any of the updates fix the problem with what you can control?

I'm really torn between this and the Sennheiser TW2. ANC is important to me, but sound quality is more important. I like my sound with wide soundstage, warm sounding, not too bassy.

These are really good sounding buds and I like the small case size but not for my ears they are uncomfortable with in 15mins

Hi JD99, what is your opinion on the base when placed properly? Every other review I’ve seen said that they were a noticeably bassier, tighter, and richer right out of the box. Gamesky, imo, feels that the base is a bit lacking, would you agree? Thanks

@@user-jd10 thanks man, I appreciate it. May I ask, when out of the box, are they more bass heavy than the xm3? Even if by a little? That’s why I’m really wondering about. Sucks it didn’t fit like it should. Here is some fitting advice that may work, I would advise you to try different wearing positions only when the wearing-discomfort and fatigue is gone down to normal. Otherwise if you keep trying different positions while your ears are irritated, it would seem like all positions hurt lol! Clearly they are uncomfortable, but maybe this tip will help find a more tolerable better fit.

I’ve never had expensive earbuds before. The most I spent was $100 for the Buds Plus Galaxy…they’re good..but I wanna spend money for some premium ones. You think I should get the xm4s as my first premium earbuds ??

I find it funny how in the package it says "Made for Iphone" but it has Alexa and Google assistant, but not Siri. I also find it to work very good in my S21U.

I stumbled over this article, and now i understand why the did not include multipont Bluetooth connection. It seems to only work with AAC Codec playback and Sony with LDAC does not want that. It waters down audio quality. I had the WH 1000XM4 and multipoint only worked in AAC. I guess what consumers want, need are looking for is not multipoint connection but automatic device switching where the headphone automatically detect playback when you hit play on the desired device. I purchased these as soon as they dropped ,They make you feel like you're in a personal bubble , the noose canceling is a pretty dope feature tbh, and ambient sound to me is the best feature feels like you don't have them on

Great review man... Regarding foam vs silicon tips, it is usually the case that foam tips will take some of the air out of the sound... so a lot of people, including myself, prefer the silicon tips.. How is the sound compared to Moondrop Sparks, Sabbat E16 and Lypertek Z3? I know you eq-ed them but they do not seem to have enough bands so you can make them sound exactly how you would like them to... On sound alone, which is your personal favorite?

I just bought these because my bose qc earbuds died. I'm an android user. These have loud sound for outdoor environments right? I have road workers coming soon and would I be able to relax with Jack hammers from inside my house? As long as ac is on?

What are those headphones glowing in the background?

Bizarre that they would leave out full controls. Having to omit ANC/Ambient for volume is a no go. Just saw a different review and he said independent use only works if you turn off voice control? Did you experience this?

They are great ear buds but, my independent use was not working until I saw this comment and turned my voice control off. It started working afterwards, so in my experience this is true.

I was waiting for three buds for my personal use first one was Galaxy buds Pro didn't buy because all features don't work with iOS then waited for XM4, now these have no Multipoint connect and the call quality isn't up to the mark, and some little issues Now I have to wait for a long time for apple stemless buds, It gonna be a long time...

They are independent of each other. If you've already made some adjustments on the headphones app, making other adjustments on your samsung phone will alter the sound again.

I finally got these and I love them besides they kinda hurt my ears but all head phones hurt my ears idk if I just have sensitive ears or what but I have nothing to complain about
