The first power cycle worked for me. Unplug. Wait 2 min. Hold down power button for 15 sec. Plug back in! That worked. I think my tv got hung up on an update. I would see the animation for it at first, then my tv would just go black and flash the red light 6x. I have a Sony Bravia 55'. it's almost 10 years old. Thank you for this video! I'm so relieved!

My issue keeps being between power cycling, then if the TV gets cold it shoots the 5 blinks (T-COM) issue and the board was just replaced. Kinda odd, TV was on for a day then did this then TV was on for another day about 2 or 3 days. Back to red light flashing and might have to HARD reset again......... I have a sony Bravia XR-77A80K

My sony tv has suddenly gone black even though it was still playing sound and responding to the controller. I turned standby off and on again... same thing. Then I turned the power off. When it came back on there was no picture or sound, just a red blinking light. When I press between tv & netlfix I can see the faintest change in light on the screen, even though it is still black. I dont know what to do.

I'm having the same issue. I have a Sony A80J 65 inch

My tv turns on and works fine but after 30, 40 mins, screen goes off and red light blinks 4 times. Any thoughts?

The hdmi trick worked🎉

My tv works if the HDMI is removed but as soon as I connect it, it turns off and on for a few cycles and then the red light starts blinking 6 times. What should I do?

@@Khaled.Sulliman I was on the Sony site and it will instruct you based on one or 3 small buttons on the back. I haven’t done it yet but you basically hold down the buttons and un plug and replug at the same time.

My 2 Yr old sony bravia suddenly died, red blinking light. John Lewis said it would cost double the cost of the TV to fix it 🤷🏼‍♀️ so they have now kept my tv and refunded me £100 LESS than I paid for it!! Fuming.
