I am unable to connect to Bluetooth, so I tried the USB unable to get USB to work either Tried everything in their manual nothing seems to work. Trying to run it through my PC like I did with my old turntable using the sound card. If I read the manual correctly it should work!

The Sony PS-LX310BT audio produced is lacking in detail, can’t reach the highs and lows. Amp used is Cambridge Audio AM10. Is this to be expected of the default stylus or do I need the stylus to run in?

You can buy the replacement needle from Sony here: sony.encompass.com/item/12323563/Sony/9-301-000-82/. But I recommend to buy this upgrade replacement from LPGear, which costs a little bit more but it helps improving the sound quality quite a bit: www.lpgear.com/product/STPSLX310BTUPG.html. You also can buy a normal replacement with cheaper price anyway: www.lpgear.com/product/STPSLX310B.html

Emi Unicorn : Has your speaker got a built in amp? I’m sure it has. A modern Bose should have. So then you switch from “phono” to “line” at the back of the player. That should do it for you.

Did you switch the Output Select to “Line” at the back of the player? And with the Gain switch at “Mid” you should be ok. Turn off Bluetooth completely on the unit then hold the Bluetooth button down for seven seconds and it should pair up and connect and play ok. Mine works perfectly with two Tronsmart Element Force 40W speakers paired to give a cool true stereo sound. Maybe there’s a problem with that particular unit or maybe your Bose speaker has an older version of Bluetooth in it.

Sony please give us an elliptical stylus upgrade for the PS-LX310BT..to address the IGD and improved high frequency. You know you can better it. I upgraded your PS-LX310BT with Audio Technica AT91 and it sound appreciably better..will experiment with elliptical from LP gear or Analogis Black Diamond but the freight charges cost as much as the stylus which is ridiculous.

@@laurahorne7151 Hi Laura, I did eventually yes, I realised that my subwoofer was communicating with the sound bar so this effected pairing with the player, so I just created distance between the sub and the player. I still have to do an annoying sequence to get the audio to play, but the connection happens with ease now

Camden, well it’s a year later and vinyl records (so called “old technology) has gone from strength to strength and will continue to do so... It’s fantastic. There’s nothing in the “listening to music canon”, quite like the ritual of carefully taking a record out of the paper sleeve that you’ve just taken out of the album cover, holding it carefully, examining the central label, marvelling at the track grooves, maybe giving it a slight wipe down before placing it carefully down onto the turntable platter. All the better if it’s coloured vinyl. The Piece de Resistance of course is a 12 inch Picture Disc! Then watching as the stylus arm moves up and across to the record and descends onto the record, giving that rich familiar sound as contact is made between needle and record. Maybe sometimes you do that bit manually. Then sit back, listen until the end and while doing so, pore over the album cover with its artwork, musicians information, producers info etc and everything else that’s printed on it and included within the album sleeve. It’s like an art installation in itself sometimes. Not that there’s anything wrong with digital downloads. They’re great for on the go and for travelling/holidays but there’s still nothing like playing records at home either alone or with your loved ones!
