Thx for this disassembling video..i have these speakers and i really want to look inside to see how big is the driver but i dont want to ruin it

I used some similar 6.5" quick edge woofers (gold cone) in a DIY tower speaker build with Vifa tweeters running through the capacitor. Sounds great after tweaking with the tuning of the enclosure (port length, etc), strong and deep bass. The woofers can take plenty of power as well.

i just wanna say smart what you did. i have 23 years experience with those greats yellow cone or silver cone sony quick edge woofers. they the ever best speakers made late of 90,s till 2002 . i have a big collections of those speakers such as the mhc grx80 and 80 s hcd rxd8s and many different models

I had Sony speakers with the same edge woofers, and after years of great sound the rubber edge suspension ring dried up and broke

I think your tweeter is not broken. You should get the impedance from the terminals that the capacitor is not in the path. I mean you need to find terminals that is before of capacitor. Capacitor is series with tweeter + terminal. And capacitor Impedance is infinite so in the video you could not meature that.

Amazing speakers I already use the second pair. The earlier one was torn by the speaker suspension. It's sad but the rubber in these models gets old and tears, especially when you listen to it loudly. Unfortunately, the rubber is also starting to crack in my new ones. I don't know what I'll do next. I will die without my favorite speakers. I hope someone will make a good repair kit.

I have the same from 2000 i painted them black mat color and wrapped wooden paper stick around . looking amazing . I saw some videos online that you can turn the passive speaker to amplified Bluetooth etc. I think this speakers never die ! P.S i am looking now to change the tweeters to some better quality 5''

What do you think mate, its worth to buy a system like this nowadays in used, but good condition? You are repairing hifi systems, so I would like to hear your opinion. I know one RX110AV for sale, but im not sure, these systems are 20+ years old so if something breaks, its hard to find replacement pieces. What do you think? Hello. Yes you can. The price of these systems is very affordable according to the country I am in. I do not know the country you live in. The cds and cassettes of these systems usually do not work. And the sound pot does not work. be sure to test it first.

I have the RX110 AV. depends on the condition it was in, the weather. In canada its very dry so these units, if kept well, all still play as good as day 1. Humidity and dust is number one enemy of all hifi systems, and these sony ones have a lot of holes to get dust inside.

@@RennieAsh Size isn’t factor. People who don’t understand speakers don’t like this speakers. These are bookshelf speakers. Check Polk s20 they are slightly bigger than this Sony speakers yet they sale good these days. As an audiophile I do love these speakers. These speakers sound really great!

i also have this except the the front facing is singlw bass port, inside all same, quit powerfull and clear sounding from the 90's era, replaced the small multi tweeters with a single dome tweeter.

There is a bipolar capacitor. And it is made for its own amplifier.

ss grx8 hoparlörleri var. Roland ua 55 harici ses kartıma bağlayarak bilgisayarda kullansam verimli olur mu? Müzik seti çalışmıyor. Sadece kolonları kullanmak istiyorum.

Merhaba.Hoparlörler iyi.Teyple ne kadar uyumlu olur bilmiyorum.Araç teypleri 4 ohm ve çıkış başı 45-55 watt arası olur.Amfisiz bu hoparlörleri besleyebileceğini ve keyifli ses verebileceğini sanmıyorum.Ben daha önce sony 4 x 55 watt araç teyple denedim.Verdiği ses kendi amfisinin yanından bile geçmedi👍🏼🙋‍♂️

Thanks for the answer! I see the capacitor next to the tweeter. But that means the woofer gets the complete signal (20 to 20.000) from the amp, and the tweeter gets only hi frecuecies? Do you think that this speakers would benefit from getting a proper crossover?

:D Look for denon or yamaha . If you want to use them for home cinema then try to look for home cinema amp . this speaker can operate 170watt 8ohm maxi . But even with 150 Watts (Per Chanel you should be fine ) remember to use good quality cable and to check the impedance 8ohms. If you looking for music only something budget then go for Koda MAD1400BT 220 euros approximately . If you looking to enjoy music and movies go for Denon or Pioneer or Yamaha amplifiers . 300euro min

Aqui se nota que empezo Sony a bajar la calidad. El modelo anterior de bafles SS-W777G tiene mejores componentes y hasta un crossover.

Yıllarca sony ses sistemi kullandım evimde aynı buna benzeyen bir sistem çok ufak görüntü farkı var hoparlörler birebir aynı. Hırsızlığa yenik düştük sistem evden gitti ve bu gün 2022 yılında hala o sesi o kaliteyi veren hiç bir cihaz duymadım. Temiz olduğuna güvendiğim bir cihaz bulsam bu gün alırım..
