I fully agree with the recent comments. The video is 100% straight to the point(s) and gave me a lot of inspiration! Even though it's 4 years old (such as the Mark 7 itself) it's still completely up to date and entertaining. I bought the camera recently as I could not find any better alternative! Thank you Jason!

I am a Rank Newbe. after watching this I am sold on the RX 100V11. This is the best Tutorial I have seen on any camera. It may be a little advanced for my skill level, But with this Tutorial, I can learn a lot and get some good shots.

I agree. I need a replacement for the S6000 from Fuji to take pics of circuit boards and this seems to be it. We can't use our phone cameras at work anymore so I'll stick a PO in. Great video!!

It`s been a while since I bought it, but unfortunately I have found it more "convenient" to use my mobile phone. Excellent and easy to follow tutorial. Saved me hours of reading the non-intuitive manual. I learnt a couple of really useful extra features, which probably would have required a long learning curve to figure it out myself. Unfortunately I can give you only 1 thumbs up when you deserved at least 10! You are now on top of my list for camera tutorials.

I came here because I just bought this camera yesterday. Not only did you just familiarize me with the camera but you somehow answered some collateral nagging questions/confusion I've had rattling around in my head since getting into photography/video. WOW! You really taught me a lot I had never known about this camera. I’m ashamed to tell you how long I’ve had this camera, but I’m using it more and more for my travel photography because to carry a comprehensive kit to many countries is now not a good idea. Plus the quality of the photographs made with this camera is every bit as good as my full frames. Again, thanks, I’ve subscribed, liked, and notified. I’ll be back.

actually quite strange..... 5 years ago you would have at least a complete series of models every year,being caught up by "more bigger better", right after release....... now i just bought a 3 year old model, because it is the most recent ones with good spec's in the compact class..... happy with your tutorials, finaly not just, "this is great", but "this is how it works, and this is what you can do with it" big compliments!!

This is the best tutorial video!! Thank you very very much. Only one question, why do you choose the record setting of 20p 100m over 30p 100m? 30p 100m comes first on the display. So I simply thought 30p100m was the best recording setting. I am confused.

@@Jason_HermannOkay Jay, I do have a question. I have the RX 100 7 (of course). I've been trying to convince myself that maybe I should once again get a camera with interchangeable lenses. I've been thinking the 6400 ever since I've read your reviews and others. But with that new 6600 coming out, I didn't know if it would be worth waiting and spending that extra money. I am no pro though I do have a "retirement" job that brings in a few bucks where I do take photos. I'm hoping to up my game. Do you think the 6600 is worth the wait and the money?

Thanks for this video..since the M7 is using the same lense found on the M6.. have you notice better noise performance for stills and/or video on the M7?

Hi, maybe you know why when I film in 4K after 10 minutes or before it stops recording and I have to keep an eye on my Sony RX100 M7 camera on the screen to reactivate the filming, why does it happen or maybe it is because of the configuration issue.

Great video, they can make the sony camera longer so they would give more space for buttons, and a shoe for a bigger flash.

I would not mind too much, but the deck of cards size of this camera is it's strongest feature in my opinion. I actually just went to a concert at Madison Square Garden on Friday and I so wish I had this camera with me... The iPhone did the job, but a zoom and 1" sensor would have been killer for the brief city walk and a few shots during the show. That is really what this super powerful ultra compact camera is for if I were to use it. When you can't take the large sensor camera due to situation, but still want something way better than a phone with minimal carry burden. Or if you just don't want to carry a larger heavy camera ever and want the smallest option with the most power and zoom range...

Great instructional video. One thing I don't understand. At 28:07 in A mode the changing aperture alters the ISO value, while shutter is fixed at 1/160th. But at 29:02, explaining the S mode, the ISO stays in Auto and the shutter and aperture alters. I'm assuming the camera keeps the ISO either constant or at a minimum?? I will experiment with mine, but I would have thought the Aperture would stay fixed and ISO change. The opposite of the previous mode.

Do you know if the rx100vii has the soft skin effect to apply during video recording like the new zv1 has?? Thanks!
