How were you able to adjust the RAW files in Lightroom? Has Adobe release an update...or did you get access to the beta?

Would it matter if I just use it in automatic mode for every shoot? Because I don’t really know about the ISO or aperture etc. would it be a huge different between automatic mode and manual mode?

Thanks for the review - very enjoyable and informative. I've got an earlier version of this camera, the RX100-M2, and use it in a housing while scuba diving. The raw ability is essential to getting the lighting right under water. I've used it for a lot of shots in the past few years and really like it except for the lack of a real macro mode. I'm keeping an eye on the new models for a replacement so this is very helpful. Cheers.

Great job on the review... how did you manage to open the raw images you shot? Lightroom CC and Photoshop plus DNG converter will not open or convert the files......

Your real world review of the M4 pushed me into the world of Sony photography. When I first heard about the M6 I was excited and waited for your review...and I think I'll hold on to my M4 for a bit longer...or at least until that $1200 price comes down a bit. Great review though!

Nice review Fro. I am looking at a small compact camera for street photography. Unfortunately my DSLR means I get busted regularly. Do you or your fans have a view on how this compares compared to the fujifilm x-e3 or lumix tz220?

I was trying to convince myself not to buy this camera. Now im going to buy it. Quick question: does it over heat quickly like the sonya5100?

Good video, thanks. Just a question. In Manual, when I select Flexible spot (to move my focus around) then Shutter Speed is disabled. Apparently, I have not full manual control: Apertures, Shutter Speed, focus, etc. Is it because I don't know how to make work or a camera limitation? Thanks. :)

Jared what do you think about the adobe subscription model? You never own that software? I wanted to ask your opinion about it because i am interested in the photography subscription model

Hi Jared Polin, I am an intermediate photographer and wanted to buy a new camera......I normally do landscape photography and a bit of wildlife, my budget was approx of 1000$, which camera would u like to suggest me........ I was thinking of buying a cannon 77d/cannon 800d/cannon m50/nikon d7200/ nikon d7500 or a sony a6500.....which would be good to buy?

Enjoyed the editing and good review, I always appreciate your succinctness, would make a good backup travel camera. I can't wait for the day when they make a adequately lit, super intuitive full touch LCD screen.

Jared, fantastic video with great tips for street photography and great details about this little Sony. It seems as though it would be great for travel photos.

Regarding the “dainty” nature. I use a Sony leather case which offers good protection, looks great and makes it super easy to carry. I’d never go out without it. I have an RX100 v and a RX10 iv. I’ve found them a great combination to travel with although the sensor does have some limitations in low light.

Great review. I just got this camera used. One thing you should have shown is the comparison of the raw after editing vs the in camera KPG after editing. In my first few shoots with this camera I shot RAW+JPG and edited my RAW files, converted them to JPG, and compared them to the native in camera JPG. I was blown away on how much less noise and the quality of the in-camera conversion. I may not be shooting RAW with this camera anymore saving a lot of time.

how were you able to make DNG files from the raw? my bud just bought this and lightroom and adobe DNG converter is not updated to open the .arw files. what program did you use to convert them to DNG?

Bought the RX100 Mk2 when it came out primarily after looking for good compact for low-light concert photography - challenging at the best of times and more so with a compact camera but i'm pretty sure i made the right choice .........now it's time to upgrade methinks but the question is, aside from the built in viewfinder, the better 1.8/2.8 lens and the 180 degree tilt LCD screen is there a difference between the sensors on the III, IV and V models??

Great video! One thing that I sorely miss is some comparison in less ideal light settings, like indoors or night. Basically, I would like to know how much worse it really is for indoors compared to previous models, to decide if upgrade is worth it.

Keep in mind, I m making a hit with my street video in Pattaya and I m using a mark 3. Think about what I could do if I was using the mark 6?

Can you use the flash as a light for video at night? Like on a phone the flash becomes a permanent light when shooting video?

How did you get DNG raw? I am only able to find AWD file which Lightroom does not support

Any chance to match rx100vi with rx10ii? They have the same zoom and same sensor size... but different aperture value.

I enjoyed your review because you get right to details. I do have a question/suggestion: can you use two of the same cameras you are reviewing in future reviews? So the camera recording you is also the camera your using. I think you would have a much more informative review so we can see really what the particular camera can do including pictures videos vlogs and even here on KZread. Hy, i am racing supermoto and i need a camera to take some quick shots or short videos of me or even some cool slow motion shots, i know that the canon 80D isn't capable of takin this cool slow motion shots but would you go for a dslr like the 80D or do you think i would be happy with the sony rx100 VI ....Cause the price point of these cameras is nearly the same if i go with the kitlens 18-135mm . i really need help with this one

Thanks for the review. Debating whether to get this or the mark V for taking photos at venues where larger/ILC cameras are not allowed.

Metro-Case makes a very nice screw on grip for the rx100 series cameras, however I don't know if they are making one for the M6 yet since I believe it is a slightly thicker camera.

Im really considering this camera, just for video work though. Nothing crazy, just family stuff. Is there a better option for family videos around the $1000-$1500 price point?

They are edited raw files. I mention that probably when we analyze the images.

I may have skipped through some of the video, was there ever any mention of Panasonic’s 1” efforts TZ or LX cameras, slightly cheaper options as far as I know

pcmag recommends this Sony RX1000 VI as a "best travel camera"... I'm curious how accurate that is vs the other options. Eg will Sony RX100 III or V give the same quality photos?

Question not sure if you're familiar with the Sony hx50v I'm in a wheelchair and needed a small compact long zoom camera and I'm looking into the Sony rx100 VI but its $1200 I think the Sony hx50v has a longer zoom it's hard for me if I want a smaller zoom and maybe better quality with the Sony rx100 so if you have any input or if you could do a review on the Sony hx50v compared to the rx100 VI that would be great

Used the Sony hx50v for four months throughout Europe in 2014 and cannot say enough goof things about it.

I think I'd go with the V because the 2.8 - 4.5 is a dealbreaker to me.
