Which full-frame Sony camera would you get? Sony FX3, A7SIII or ZV-E1???

Right now, the PANASONIC Lumix S5 IIX… It allows you to have so much in just one camera when compared with all the other ones… The ZVE1, well, I was about to buy it, but the overheating issues… I have 20 to 40 minutes videos nonstop and I can have a heating problem in a camera that is not that cheap.

For me the FX3 is a must have

It’s a Cinema camera. A feature film (Creator) was solely filmed with FX3.

It actually wasn’t fully shot on an FX3, but it was the most used as they had 10 of them. They also used a Venice and some original footage from the test film which Gareth shot on a Nikon. Just watch the interview with Matti H and Oren the DP, lots of interesting stuff!

I‘m a canon shooter, but I still find the FX3 just so pleasing to look at, it just screams Cinematography to me.

I’m a Sony shooter and I love my Sony but I also love Canon colors (SOOC).

I own both the FX-3 and FX-6. I shoot professionally in corporate video production. The ZV-E1 has a lot of great features and functionality, however for what I do having one memory card slot only and no professional audio options it wouldn’t be an option for me. If I wanted a C-Cam the FX-30 would be a more suitable option for my workflow.

1:08 I do get your point but it was never meant to be a hybrid camera. It just happens to also shoot stills in a limited way if really needed.

No it’s not meant to be a hybrid, but just happens to have similar hybrid mechanics as the a7s3. It just feels like the FX3 is in a weird middle ground

I wouldn’t say it was a fair comparison. the fx3 and the zv-e1. Both camera are used for different purposes. I sold my a7siii for the fx3 and i don’t regret it. I also use the fx3 for photos and it’s takes great picture just fine. FX3 is still a great camera!

It wasn’t really a comparison video on purpose. I just wanted to show that the FX3 is over the top for simple content creation.

The only issue I've had with the ZE-V1 is overheating while streaming in a fixed situation. Not charging while streaming helped that quite a bit though, so it's. not been an issue lately.

What lens do you primarily use for your FX3?

Yeah, I agree. The EVF is why I stuck around with the a7s iii. Internal NDs would have made the FX3 an easy cop forsure!

@@sig310i dont think this is coming any time soon. They did bunch of software updates to the fx3. The cinema line doesn’t get refreshed as often as stills cameras.

I don’t know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that you cannot have both IBIS and internal ND in the same camera body. I don’t remember if it was the cost to manufacture or it wasn’t physically possible because it requires a lot more room in the body internally. I need to research it more.

ZV-E1 looks like it does exactly what I need (4k60p and really good stabilization)

Great question! On paper, Sony says it is, but I wouldn’t trust it outdoors with extreme weather

I'd trust the A7SIII all the way! Unfortunately, I don't see Sony updating that camera for a long while (if they ever do)

people keep saying that the 800 and 12800 is the cleanest iso but i found that 12800 has more noise then even 1600 iso, so i dont understand ?

hmm not advertised as a hybrid camera, advertised as a cinema line camera. Why get a cinema camera if you want hybrid features?

Only because it has hybrid mechanics like the A7SIII. Also, I really don't think the FX3 is a true cinema camera and shouldn't really be advertised as such

surprised that the fx3 still doesn't have shutter angle. Such a small feature but just surprised.

Different cameras for different settings A carpenter has a hammer and a rubber mallet but uses them at different times

Lots of great points. I pretty just wish I could upload luts to my a7siii but I use it for photography all the time so I couldn’t get rid of it. The ZV-E1 did not overheat in the hot summer of Florida when @kylewattstv was here in Orlando filming. We did mixture of slow motion and 24fps….no issues at all. Such a good little camera.

We did an instagram story where we overheated (and went to get a drink) and the ZV-E1 never did. LOL

@@SidneyDiongzon I would take any of them personally because I don’t own any of these. Right now it would be the ZV-E1 and I would just buy that Ulanzi fan to attach to the body of the camera to cool it off.

If you want hybryd why not a7iv, apart from slomo, rolling and low light it has the same image quality as the fx3, fx6, a7s3

I plan to do long non-stop youtube streaming videos and the ZV-E1 will overheat - so, the A7S3 and Fx3 are the go for me. Please let me know what your thoughts are.

You can use Tilta Cooling System for ZV-E1, it protects the camera from overheating. Also, Ulanzi has their own fan for ZV-E1, but Tilta is better

I returned zv e1 as I felt it's build quality is not good and it just heats up in no time. Sony should release a proper cine hybrid camera like the Fujifilm XH2S. A stacked sensor hybrid with full sensor readout 4k modes. That will be awesome.

Why would the VZ-E1 be a better hybrid camera than the FX3. That doesn't make sense. They're both equally bad because they don't have an EV because it's not targetted towards being a hybrid even though you can still shoot photos with it. The a7sIII is his the better camera for hybrid.

This video should be more about ZE-V1 not FX3. Hardly a one year review about FX3

Sony tries to have a camera model for each unique use case. If you need a hybrid of vlogging camera, you shouldn’t buy an FX3. It’s entry level cinema grade feature rich. It’s overkill. That’s where the regret comes from is buying more than you actually need.

The a7siii overheats while in 4k. That itself is a reason to get the fx3

I am sticking with my A7SIII. What I want is a good move that makes sense to get away from my 2 FS5MII studio cameras. There just is no financially sensible move from them and the FX6 is hard to justify for what I already can get from those.
