Yea Spinfit and AZLA are two brands I look to for quality eartips. I’ve known about this model shortly after the XM5 earbuds came out. The problem is using these eartips, or any silicone ones, will cause a noticeable reduction in passive noise isolation which means the ANC is no longer that good. Truth is, the XM5’s ANC isn’t really all that special and depends heavily on Sony’s foam eartips. It seems you weren’t getting a good seal with the included foam tips so for you, you may feel these AZLA ones actually perform better. Your comment about the more pronounced bass response supports this. There’s a really good channel called “AREGINA Tech Review” that has some amazing videos. They have a video on these XM5 from about 9 months ago that test these tips (or standard Max) vs. a bunch of others. Measurement data, sound samples, etc. It’s clear there is no big changes to the bass and only relatively subtle changes to treble, but there is a noticeable drop in ANC and noise isolation. This is all, of course, if there’s a good fit for both styles of eartips. Peace!

Does the XM5 fit well enough in the ear for strength workouts? I currently using the AirPods Pro and they fit very well. I'm not sure that the Sonys will fit good as the AirPods..

Hey bro try using the sennheiser mtw3 or mtw4 tips i used it on my soundpeats opera 05 coz the tips on my soundpeats 05 doesn't fit well on my ears specially my right ear and now my soundpeats 05 fits well and even sounds better now.

Their Xelastec original and new 2nd Gen model, Crystal Standard and Crystal TWS are better for passive NC than the MAX/MAX ASMR even though they claim otherwise and they also have new Foamax ear tips. 😉

I've been applying 4.5-4.7mm IEM mesh filters (~$3 for 20) and using different silicone eartips I have. The only problem is small surface for adhesive on nozzle edge - mesh occasionally peels of either from body heat or when swapping eartips. I need to reapply it every few days. Annoying as hell but at least allows wider eartip selection with nozzle protected from dirt. If you are brave enough you can get smaller metal IEM filter and push it inside of the nozzle. Sony really messed it up with the nozzle, probably to keep that "stroneger ANC" with their default foams.

I have them and They dont stay in your ear still. Xm5 have such a horrible fit smh

yeah exactly. I got this xm5 and no matter how hard I tried with silicones like spinFIT 360 and Azla nothing worked. never stay in my ears. I needed to sell it

You can also get some replacement buds from Sony (they’re not foam tips, they’re silicone and they’re way better).

Any links to order the az80 tips?

I’ve been told you’d have to contact Technics customer support to get some. Also eBay some times has spare floating around.

Did the same thing with the Jabra elite 10 to help out the noise cancelling what a difference.
