z625 is currently overpriced . If you get it under 8k then z625 is a better choice otherwise d40 is good

D40 cannot touch the z623 in terms of bass. Logitech has the exact same bass like spl car subwoofers. Take any Sony systems, whether expensive or not,all systems won't dig deep like the Logitech z series THX systems does. JBL bar 5.1 is the only system that can match the z623 in bass.

I have Sony Sa-D40 subwoofer at home. It always resets to zero volume whenever I turn on the subwoofer even though if I keep the volume at the highest level before turning it off. My question is, Does this happen to my subwoofer only or to others as well?

Very bad for such a reputed brand like Sony. They could have atleast programmed it to saved the last level of the volume played when the Music system is turned off. Even pressing the provided remote control is uncomfortable as the volume button is small and hard to press as compared to other Sony home theatre system at a much higher price like Sony HT-S20r or Sony RT 3 or better.
