I've had this camera for three years and love it Never have problem with focus on the video and it takes awesome fireworks pics even though I didn't have a tripod Just got a professional tripod for Christmas so can't wait to try it

How do you focus/blur the picture so that it looks like the primary subject of the picture is like the most colorful/detailed. Kind of like how you take a picture of shoes and the background kind of looks like blurred city lights. Is there a feature like that on this camera or is that just photoshop?

I bought the same camera as I wanted to test MY skills and didn't wanted to buy an expensive camera what I may not use in the future... so the main point was to be cheap, good, not a DSLR as I'm not a professional... I took photos in the nature and many of them came out better then I thought then I used it on a drift competition and it also did a pretty good job. On my non-professional photographer level this camera is quite good. Today morning I just tested its video recording part and still think that this camera is a good one - though I know there are better cameras... The life of the batteries... still use the same re-chargeable batteries and I m quite happy as the camera still takes good pics even if the battery level is low. It's a nice bridge. By the way... camera doesn't matter at all... in case you have the skills, you may take good pics even with a potato. I take pics on a hobby level and I am satisfied with this product. (A non-professional don't know anything about photography level review... I may know less, but I still have eyes and I can see if it takes a bad quality pics. For a beginner it is good.)

i have this same camera. my pictures have all came out great. ive done 2 music videos as well with this... its not soo much shooting a better video, if u have video editing software, you can work around with any thing..... u have no clue how to use a camera.....

hey, please help me i have this camera now while shooting a video i want to pause the shooting and ontinue it back after sometime can anybody tell me how to do that?

I purchased the HD200 back in the fall for $160 at Best Buy (Canada). I have put it through various tests and am quite satisfied with it! I do a lot of 'night' photography and although the 'Program' modes 'Night Scene' feature works well, the manual settings are remarkable! The video option produced a good quality image, but I use a Sony HDR-CX100 video camera for that. The AA battery feature is favorable as well. Easy to have replacement batteries in the field, and no bulky charger to carry around. Not to mention that dedicated battery packs change from camera to camera and can become hard to replace when they loose ability to take charge. I am quite happy with this camera and have drifted away from my SLR's!

The batteries they give is regular batteries and does not last long at all, but you can always buy rechargeable ones :)

it's on sale around $160 on amazon, i'm trying to find a good starter camera under $200, my phone takes decent photos but it obviously has no real zoom, I have a FujiFilm digital camera that's waterproof, drop proof, ect, but it sometimes takes poor indoor pictures. any recommendations?

A good 'starter' camera? It is for sure! The DSC-H200 has performed well for me. The manual control gives you the flexibility to get that perfect shot. The 26x zoom is great! The Sony DSC-H200 is a quality entry level point & shoot bridge camera that is in the 'Super Zoom' category. Because it's a 2013 model, it may be hard to find. I'm now considering on upgrading to the H400. The H200 boasts 20.1 mp, but that means little. The sensor size is important. It has a 1/2.3" sensor. Maybe I should do a full review on this?

You have to change the batteries. Cant charge it. Unless you have rechargeable batteries.

You can use any type of rechargeable batteries. Just get ones with a charger :)

But the Nikon uses a CMOS sensor while Sony has a CCD sensor, isn't Nikon better because of that? Also, for the sensor size wouldn't having that many pixels be useless?

That is very true But having a CMOS Sensor and not being a DSLR isn't much of an advantage. You cant change lens and have a large choice of lens with different apertures..etc..

interesting that i have H200 not 200 V and zoom is great , pictures relatively considering the price is good . out door are very good , indoors not much but utilizing the functions it may help to capture a better indoor pictures my guess is that you do not know much about cameras PERIOD so would be wise not express your RAW and very immature opinion in that regard one more thing to add the AUDIO is very good again bare in mind this is under $200.000 or less camera

If you just want a camera just for pictures and you have a low budget. I would suggest the Sony H200. It is very cheap right now. But If you're planning to record some videos spend a little more and get the Nikon l820 ! Or a DSLR :)

Depends how much you are willing to pay... For great videos you would want a 1080p Camera. If you are looking for a cheap digital camera under $300 the Nikon l820 Is perfect... If you are looking for a DSLR for cheap and for beginners, the Canon T3 will be perfect for you. Its under $500 right now on best buy which is a fantastic price because it comes with 18-55mm lens. :)

I would not buy it for the video. Mic its ok for what it is but video quality on this camera is pretty low quality even at this highest setting, and the camera struggles with the auto focus even when shooting at bright light environments. As a camera is a good camera though.
