for the size it is.....this little one has an amazing sound....not too loud but the quality is just awesome.....ideal for an small room, small office or studio....clear cristal sound and bass is powerful....you'll love it !

I bought one like this from a Target. It sounds fucken wonderful! It's much better than the Sony and LG high-fidelity units I bought from Walmart and it cost about the same!

i also bought it for Christmas for my daughter. i can prefer it for you.

I have recently tested both (SBT100 and SBT300) at Sony Center and there is huge difference is playing clean bass sound. I mean clean acoustic bass tones like from double bass or bass guitar, when we expect clarity of the sound not 'boom' for techno hits. I have played the same tunes and have both unit on the same level/distance to my ears. Thinking about buying the SBT300W mainly because the sound and ability to play from network (ethernet port and wifi). As for BT it was playing from 4m without any problems.

Does USB direct playing have resume mode (continue playing the last track) and shuffle mode only plays tracks/songs within one selected folder? I've bought a micro music system Philips BTM2180 few days ago. While sound quality is impressive, it has no resume feature (always plays first track after power off or pushing stop button); but if shuffle mode is on, it randomly plays songs in ALL folders stored in the USB! I just want it to randomly play songs in ONE selected folder only. That's why i consider buying this Sony system. Please answer my 2 key questions: resume and folder playing. Thank you!

While this System is streaming music from smartphone via NFC/Bluetooth pairing, does the music only play through the System's speakers? Or the music is being played simultaneously both on the System and the phone?

i have cmtsbt 20, bought it before 6 months. sound is perfect, you can utilize it with equilazer. only thing i regret is not buying larger one, like this one maybe. this one should have louder and even better if not same sound as 20.

What the name stand for?

The Sony CMTSBT100 has not enough memory to read the full USB's directory, so only a few folders can be read and played. I can not recommend because of that, as most of my music is unplayable on this.

What’s the ohm load of the new speakers? If it reads an ohm load too low it may go into protect mode. (Just a suggestion, you’d have to find an owner’s manual to be sure)

I have this sound system but when i put my ear close enough to the unit i hear a faint buzzing, am i the only one to have this or do i return it, im not sure if it's normal or not, this is heard in standby mode only, never when it's on, as i say it is very faint to hear.

I can say it is good. I have the SBT300 and SBT100 and sound no difference.

There is no external audio connection...I would like to run additional speakers through a separator and hook it up to an amp, but you cant due to this. Stupid to limit it to 50 watts! What good is this thing other than the Bluetooth and CD player? The speakers are horrible and if you want to run additional speakers you only have 50 watts...BAD DESIGN!

Sony is the Nike of Electronics

Sony put put a nice product here, but it's still kinda cheaply made, the back is VERY bare bones and the audio quality is "meh" from what I read about. And instead of puttiing out a better "quality" system for a higher price, they decided to go the cheesy Samsung rout and put out these "boom room" systems that push 2000 watts but with the same "lowish-fi" build quality as this cheaper system. I would have liked to see an ES model with essentially the same specs as this system but much higher build quality that's heavier, more metal, better sound, and better speakers for a few hundred more (maybe $499?) instead of those stupid looking "boom room" systems just to compete with Samsung.

Can the system read FLAC archives?
