Any settings after connecting HDMi cable to soundbar?

Optical has the bandwidth it’s just companies don’t want to pay to put it in their technology. Not only that the higher quality cables for optical makes them too fragile for people to handle. Optical is actually pretty powerful no matter how old the technology is. Apple use to support 192 KHz on optical. So limitation is a myth, it’s Will they support it. Optical will always be better than HDMI or any digital cable you put up against it. Toshiba was actually going to do an Toslink 2.0 but they canceled it.

Hi I have 2020 Sony x1 4K tv and Bose soundtouch 300+ acousticmass bass module 300+ invisible surround speakers 300, so which is the best suitable cable for Cristal clear sound? HDMI ARC or Optical cable?

Is it possible for me to use the Optical output AND the HDMI arc at the same time? use case: HDMI ARC is connected to the soundbar but I am trying to use the optical output to the 2 channels system with digital input for better 2 channels sound quality for music streaming apps. I don't see the option to toggle between the 2 outputs so I assume that once HDMI arc is in place, the TV assumes the users will not use any other output. Is it true? Thanks

I believe you can by turning off ARC in settings.

Pushing HDMI ARC as the main connection for surrounding sound setup yet have only two 2.1 hdmi slot in their A80J TV 1 normal and the other one ARC the rest are 2.0 slot.. like why? I have PS5 and Xbox series X, and both consoles needed 2.1. Now, I dont have a choice besides using the optical cable. To this day I still dont understand why they didnt have the arc input in a different HDMI

My TV doesn’t have eARC, it has only arc. Can I get Dolby Atmos when connected to Dolby Atmos sound bar using HDMI cable. Please advise

@@nex-plays7512 connect amazon fire stick or apple tv 4k directly to soundbar.. but your soundbar must support 4k video pass through..

​@@SonySupportUSA your support for Asia Middle East Africa is non. It does not help your are giving links to sites that cannot offer technical support. You are not looking after you non USA customers. I have been waiting for technical support for over 2 weeks. Every avenue I have tried is a dead end. Every person I speak to tells me they do not have the technical knowledge to help me and has never heard of DTS. Your TV's does not play DTS on the latest Android 11 firmware only Dolby Digital Plus is pass through.

If only HDMI ARC worked well with other manufacture TVs. LG TVs always assume that Sony soundbars are 2.1 channel even when the soundbar is 5.1.

Hi PB 91 WALE, Yes, the optical cable is a specific cable for audio only. If you have a Sony soundbar, AV receiver, or Home theater system that is HDMI ARC compatible. We recommend using HDMI connection for faster audio and video transmission. Regards, David

Sony HT-S20R, accepts Dolby surround sound from TV through HDMI ARC? In the official site, there is no mention about the HDMI Input for Sony S20R but for S40R, it has.
