I will be honest because I'm n too embarrassed to share with my friends and fam. I got the a5000 today and was almost crying because I wanted to take pictures but the screen has red dots. Almost called the shipper to take it back and as I was putting the camera back in the box I noticed a cap covering the lenses. Wanted to smack the heck outa myself.

Lol I did haha. But I do want to ask you. I'm very concerned how it doesn't focus as good or takes blurry pictures so easily. I'm going to japan in 2 days and I'm fearful of paying more time to focus a simple picture or have blurry photos as my memories. Is there something in missing? Thanks!

How do you play the videos and put them on your computer?? LoL I took the SD card out and tried to play the video and it won't let me. Old age moron here.. I don't know how to use this camera!

The standard setting will work well and maybe turn the focus to manual to get the best shot.

fiona Henderson heyyy were you able to figure this out? I just got the camera and it’s driving me crazy 😭

How do you get it to zoom in when manually focusing? I set mine to MF and when I tried to focus, it didn't punch in as it did in yours.

Very informative stuff, was wondering if you or if anyone can tell me if this cameras has SLOG picture profile?

Tha "A" in A5000 is "alpha", so it's either Sony Alpha 5000 or Sony a5000... sorry - it's not you, it's my OCD.

I personally think that the Lumix g7 is a much better camera. And the price difference is only £100 to which it is worth the extra 100.

You actually can't connect an external mic, since this camera doesn't have a mic port:)

Hi Lewis, question, when i want to take a picture it seems like the camera turns off? the lens is going in and out. sometimes i can take a picture and then it goes off again..the screen turns black and then it goes on again...is there something i do wrong?

Don't think so. Think you might have a technical problem. I'd see a camera specialist to check theres no software damage or hardware damage.

You can either send it using the wifi features or use more traditional methods like plug in the sd card or connect it via usb
