    What a wonderful video this is. I am shocked that it just has 3k+ views. Not sure what more a content creator needs to do. Superb work mate keep going. I am a first time camera operator and your tutorial was way to understand. One suggestion, for non native speakers and people who are new to Sony it felt that you were a bit fast with all the features. I reduced your video speed to .75x and voila it was the best speed at which I could look at all the features and try them out on my Sony a7s3 at the same time

    I have the A7SIII and I have an issue with filming in areas under shaded areas. Either I have to choose my background to be over exposed or my subject to be underexposed. I have a hard time finding a balance between the two. I've tried ND filters and no luck still. Or maybe I am using them wrong.

  • @JasonRobertsVideo

    There is only so much dynamic range a camera can see - you just need to choose what is most important for the viewer to see (or bring in some lights to balance the exposure)

  • @JasonRobertsVideo

    @JasonRobertsVideo

    Normally you'd want to use gyro stabe in post and not have any turned on in camera because it might get weird results with "double stabilization" but you could experiment. Doesn't matter about the gimbal because the camera doesn't know it's on one.

    @@JasonRobertsVideo ive only ever set zebras at 94% from the FN button options on the back but when you say to set 44% or 55% to middle gray i get lost. I shoot run and gun and outside mostly so how would i set up slog exposure? I normally try to use the m.m and aim for 1.3-2.0 while also looking at the screen for help with gamma display on. Should i be using zebras as my main guide when out and about or the m.m meter (i how that can be random also) Ive just ordered a grey card from this video so i can try and learn. If you point the camera at the grey card and turn on zebras and set them to what middle grey would be for the picture profile your using you then adjust your exposure until you see zebras cover the grey card.

But as ill be doing a walk, hills , beach side ect the exposure wil change alot on the go , normally im looking at the M.M and adjusting with my ND .. sorry for all the questions im just trying to understand and get better. Yep exactly with the zebras and grey card - best for stable lighting. If your walking/vlogging outside then it's a lot harder - in that case you can just use your meter or just look at the screen - if you're using slog and the screen watch this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c6B1pZqyf7ncecY.html
