Nice photos and video! May I know if you use mostly use mechanical or electronic shutter with your A7rV?

Thanks for your compliment. For A7RV, I mainly shoot in mechanical shutter in compressed raw file so that I can maintain at 10 fps. I don’t recommend to use the electronic shutter due to the sensor is a non stacked sensor that has slower readout speed that will cause rolling shutter effect.

Absolutely stunning photos! Can I ask if it is worthwhile to upgrade from the A73 to A7R5 to get the extra resolution and crop ability? I use the Sony 200-600 and 1.4 TC for photographing mainly smaller birds. Thank you so much!

There are 2 options that you may consider, the A74 or A7RV, both have higher megapixel, better AF capability and video features. It depends on the budget that you are willing to spend on the upgrade.

@@kiah9318 Yeah I’m not considering the A74 cuz if I upgrade I’m probably going to get the best. Just not sure if it is easy to see the difference between 60 MP of the A7R5 and 24MP A73. Especially since the 200-600 is not tack sharp like the GM lenses 🤔

@@timsong93 i have the same gear,a73,a7rv and the 200-600g,the big difference is in croping and the new autofocus.

It does have a very short moment of blackout just like any non-stacked sensor mirrorless camera when in mechanical shutter mode.

@@kiah9318 thx for the Feedback. Have you tried the a7 iv? Ist the Blackout shorter on the a7r5? Im currently deciding between Both cameras since the a1 is too expensive for my needs. Best regards from Germany

@@RTReview. I think the blackout for both is almost the same. If you would like higher megapixel, 4K 60P un-cropped mode, better viewfinder (higher resolution, bigger and better refresh rate), better AF than A7R5 is the obvious choice. However if budget is the main concern, A74 is a sensible choice.

您好，感谢你的留言。A7R5的对于辨识鸟类眼睛对焦框启动和锁定眼睛的确比起A1 1.31固件比较快。但是拍摄快速飞翔的鸟类每秒10张的连拍有点不够快。EVF无黑屏的操作对于跟踪快速移动的主体也非常重要，当我使用A7R5拍摄飞翔的鸟类，经常会跟失掉目标因为黑屏的影响。长远的使用，A1 的价值比较高，不然您买了A7R5后还会再花一次钱A1的升级。A1的4K 100帧， A7R5做不到的。

我使用a7R5拍鸟，可能光线太暗了，ISO到2000已经噪点太多，在Lightroom很难修复。 你使用到 ISO4000以上，需要后期做什么降噪处理吗？

我建议您使用 Topaz DeNoise 做降噪和 Topaz Sharpen 做锐利调整。

A9 II 唯一的优势是快速连拍无黑屏的观景窗。A7R5 的像素，对焦系统，video， 4轴多角度触摸屏，9百万点EVF。我会倾向选择A7R5。
