I watched your Route 66 videos not because of the camera gear (I don't even shoot on Sony), but because the photography and the travel. True photographers are interested in the world, in pictures and stories. So, thank you for taking us on your road trip! 😊
Thanks for the inspiration, I need to travel more! There is something about the elegant simplicity of heading out with just a camera and a single prime lens. It’s how I roll too (a7c with a 50mm Voigtlander) and I love it.
Your color inspired me a lot. Thanks for the video ❤️🔥
Awesome series. I only wish it was longer. Now I can’t wait for your next one 👍
This is a great series. I've been catching up on your channel since I discovered it, and I loved this road trip.
love the editing of your video and her vibe/mood in the shots...amazing memories

Cool Video! Awesome location! Route 66 has been on my bucket list. Agree with you on buying gear vs spending that money to travel. Definitely guilty of not doing more of that. Have a two trips planned this fall and hope that kick starts the idea you shared. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the interesting content!
Well done Dylan. You did a great job, makes me want to paint route 66!!
Thank you man! Appreciate your opinion at the end. I literally was overwhelmed with so many videos suggesting so many stuff, when in reality, I might only use the 35mm & 85mm (when needed), for my travels. 🙌🏼

Loved it! Would love for you to make a video showing the quality of the video on the a7C SOOC and creating Fuji like recipes in camera for jpg!

Great vibes here!
Your analysis on the material is right, you have more financial means to travel and for your creation you no longer ask yourself questions, you simply make do with what you have. Maybe next year I'll be doing a Los-Angeles-Amarillo photographic trip with two other photographers. I'm looking forward to discovering what you've seen and following in the footsteps of Robert Frank and Jack Kerouac.
love how you are so transparent in your videos. Ran into your channel because I got into photography not so long ago and your videos have helped me so much as a beginner photographer. Not sure if you’ve made a video similar but your photos in this video out in direct sunlight are so good. I am struggling with that at the moment here in Arizona where it’s ALWAYS sunny. Any tips or advice on how I can get my photos during the day to look so clear and crisp as yours??

I’ll be honest, I was very nervous about this trip for the simple reason that I would have to shoot photos in broad daylight. Which breaks every rule I have for myself as a photographer. For editing, I find that a less contrasty /lift the shadows but bring down the blacks in Lightroom looks best (to me)
These are great videos❤, keep up the great job, greets from Mexico :)

Thank you for watching Nolan!
I wish I would have found your channel sooner. I would have been more inspired to go out and shoot. I came across a video of you talking about the upcoming a7c 2. And you mentioned that you had been using the a7c daily for the passed 2 years. I too have an a7c and it’s my first and only camera ever. I just don’t know how to use it to its full potential. its hard to stay motivated when you’re learning on the go and are discourage when you don’t know how to use the equipment. That being said, i am now having so much fun taking picture trips just like this video. I just wish I had came across your channel sooner to see the potential the a7c has. I know it would have inspired me to go out much sooner as it does now. Thanks.
Ha! I have the opposite "regret" ... My husband and I have been traveling a lot since 2021 without a decent camera (better than our smartphones) for photography. Just now getting the Sony a7c and realizing how much better our shots would have been with a 35mm. :) Wishing you more travel and adventures. ❤🙏

So nice😍🔥
A couple of years since you went on a photo trip. I went on a few dozen every year for at least 7 years straight. But I live in the Pacific Northwest where there are hundreds of places to go within a few hour drive. Mountains, coastline, waterfalls in the Gorge, desert, ghost towns and lots of places with cool old historic houses and buildings.

Dylan, you go back all the time to the 35mm 1.8 and so did I too, till I found my dream lens because the 35 mm was not enough wide sometimes for my street photography. Tamron 20-40mm 2.8 is the lens that basically solves my wider street and landscape photography. Excellent lens, light, sharper than the 35mm 1.8, cost the same and I never have to change lenses if the light is good. I kept the 35mm for night photography. I waiting for A7CII to match with this lens. My A7RIII is too big for this lens for street photography. Excellent for videos too.

I’m glad you found the perfect lens for you! Something about a 35mm prime I just love and I don’t think I could leave it (for atleast the foreseeable future). Thanks so much!
My favourite shot of yours in this video is the wide shot @ 5:32
I’m looking to get my very first camera to practice photography, traveling and use it for KZread videos or streaming. I’ve watched a lot of videos and I’m thinking on getting the Sony A7C or the Canon R7, both are at the same price in my country right now. Or maybe wait for the A7Cii. I know the three cameras are more than enough for what I want right now, but I want to keep it for many years. By any chance have you tested the Canon R7? I really can’t make a decision 😢
Oh man GREAT videos and story, I got to this channel by trying to get my first full frame camera, coming from a Nikon D90 Im thinking if its still worth it to buy it now or wait some time... It'll be my all around camera for travel and family, I just subscribed to your channel..... :) 5 STARS>>>>>
I loved the Route 66 series! Great work! Do you think the A7C lens kit (28-60 mm) would do just as well as your 35mm?

As long as you’re not shooting in low light conditions, yes!
great video. Is the Sony a7c camera suitable for long-term filming? For example, two hours of non-stop record? Doesn't the temperature of the camera rise?
Keep making great videos

@3:16 had me lmao but you spoke like a true artist, it was definitely worth it 👏 edit: and also subbed!
It's a process we all go through but in the end I knew that the 35f1.8 would be the ideal prime for the a7C ( and I was so wanting to buy that 35 f1.4 due to G.A.S.) Now we will have to resist the siren call of the Sony a7Cii - unless it is a game changer, ha,ha!

You're right, trips are certainly worth it. I find Europe so incredibly photogenic, and every interesting location is always close to another, no 5 hour drive between spots for sure XD. I try to go every year if I can, save up and make sacrifices, no beer, fancy restaurants, or shiny new lens ;) Cheers.

@@DylanBlackburn Absolutely. And cars are the only option to travel. A 300km/h train certainly covers distances faster, which is why traveling in Europe is a breeze, and also much cheaper. So much so, that a trip to Europe costs half what it would in the US. Hotels are also cheaper, so it adds up pretty quick.
